to get hella spooked by the motion sensor
Alien Isolation did pretty well sticking to the source material.
looks more like aliens to me
I liked Alien Isolation but wish the xeno in that made more of an effort to stalk you silently instead of clomping around the corridors like an ED-209
Should've had more instances where it would just hide somewhere and nab you as you walked by unless you were alert and managed to spot it in time.
I mean I wouldn't mind an Aliens game either
>only decent alien related game in a while
>didn't do well enough for sega though so they killed it and dismantled the dev team
Fuck Randy and Gearbox for that shitshow that was Aliens Colonial Marines after all those decent looking trailers and old gameplay.
What games even sell well these days?
Space station 13 Aliens but with better graphics and better controls.
I wanna be the alien
I want aliens in my alien game
Play the AvP games then. Preferably the second since that's the best one.
I would play CM more if the playerbase wasnt absolutely dogshit
All weapons from Aliens, including the pulse rifle and smart gun.
The badass vehicles in Aliens.
The ability to play as the alien or aliens vs marines.
Acid blood
Actual science and alien breeding
Colonization of new planets
Fighting in that construction suit
Super high texture quality and environments. Think along the engines Kojima is using for DS
What Isolation was, minus the final act that dragged on a bit too long. Up through the hive, the game was perfectly fine.
Writing that isn’t dogshit and doesn’t pander to fans of the movies. Colonial Marines pulled all sorts of bullshit retcons to use the nuked colony as a location and bring Hicks back to life.
Basically Alien Isolation.
Play it with the Stalker mod on Nightmare.
Predators
I want a sequal to AvP2.
a good fucking game for once, if we're talking aliens it could work with a squad based game with each marine having a certain class. also you have to physically take out the motion tracker and none of those shitty levels where you fight people like in colonial marines. its one thing if you put people in the back so you can fight both but never fight just humans( this aint call of duty) its sad we'll probably never get a game like that, i regret spending $5 on colonial marines, avp was decent though
I wouldnt mind another try at Colonial Marines on the Isolation engine.
This. It felt inverted from the films. In the films, people clang around trying to find the hiding Xeno, only to be ambushed. Here, it bamgs around looking for you.
alien isolation gave me what i want
No games sell enougb base copies to make a healthy profit anymore. All the money is in lootboxes and microtransactions.
A mode to play as the alien on a ship with other players who are crew members and trying to escape. Or a hive manager game.
I want to BE the monster.
Imagine a Marines expansion to Alien Isolation that made the Xenos killable and let you coop with a squad. You would be in charge of hunting down Xenos accross the whole station as they hide and stalk you.
What is the stalker mod? Does it make the Xeno silent? I liked the mod that unchained the Xeno from you. Does this play well with that?
Evolve was this for awhile. It was pretty fun if you weren't a hunter.
A Predator hunting sim. You'd play as a young Predator that you create and customize. There would be a variety of planets and locations that act as open world hunting grounds, and of course the Xenomorph planet would be one. As you kill things and collect trophies, you can buy new gear and weapons for your predator and get access to new hunting grounds.
The predators were always the weakest part of the AvP games
You have six dudes, you are reasonably armed with a low grade shotgun, a sidearm, a jerry rigged flamethrower, and a pointy metal stick.
There's one Alien.
You are hunting each other on a ship blasting out SOS signals in the hope someone hears you, but so far, you've been unsuccessful. So, instead of cowering in a cupboard waiting to die, the 6 remaining crew have decided to try and kill it off before they're picked off, one by one.
The ammo you begin with is the ammo you get, it's reasonable, but limited to what you have on your person. You can scrounge for some more flamer fuel, but it's few and far between. You can repair and make pointy sticks.
The Alien's health is continuous, damage remains over successive encounters. It can heal only a little, and will try to run if overpowered. But at the same, you're six squishy, scared humans and it's a perfectly adapted 8 foot tall silent biomechanical killing machine from beyond the stars. It hits hard and can take some punishment. Guns do the most damage with ballistics - shotgun the most destructive, but close range, pistol less so but best range, flamer mid range and more for deterrence than outright damage (but cornering it can lead to some great damage), pointy stick is a last resort. Remember, acid blood.
Fuck your opinions.
A 3d SS13 style multiplayer game. A crew would consist of 6-8 people. Random disasters would happen to your ship and you would be in charge of dealing with them or dying. 1-2 Xenos would randomly stalk around Alien: Isolation style.
>So what you you want from an Alien game?
Think Prey 2017 but with xenomorphs fewer in number but much more threatening than the typhon, and few if any actual weapons. Remove the narrative structure, give you a sandbox space station/ship to survive on, perhaps with a time limit until rescue arrives. Replayability would be key.
This, because there hasn't been a price rise in fucking two decades. We can either pay 100 bucks for a new game or get 60 dollar ones with microtransactions.
AVP 2010 was better.
No it wasn't, and I say that as one of the most vehement defenders of AVP 2010.
L4D with Aliens and Colonial Marines
Alien: Isolation was really good.
Would love another game like that.
another AI. That game was fucking perfect
I want another Alien vs Predator for the multiplayer. It's a simple formula that's hard to fuck up.
>CM remake on a non-byond platform
>like alien swarm/hell divers but with 64+ players, real time strategy and logistical elements, with every single weapon available from both the movies and offshoot lore/books
>If you use it to look for them, they can find you
The only thing that stopped me enjoying this game and hopping on the imagination train was the abysmal controls and learning curve.
Alien: Isolation is unironically CAs best game
Then you're shitposting.
Saying that Isolation is better than the 2010 AVP is shitposting now?
Alien Isolation was great except for the facehugger crap, that shit was a whole new level of annoying.
Only retard-milking shit sells these days it seems. Truly the right bussiness model is 1) get money from room temperature IQ idiots 2) make good game at loss 3) repeat
>) make good game at loss
If """gamers""" would pay more than $60 to account for inflation they wouldn't be losing money on actual good games.
...
I wouldn't pay $60 for my own game and it's fucking awesome. Get your head out of you ass, AAA death and small commited dev teams is the only viable solution.
Never ever.
>alien is immune to all damage
Nah.
I like this
Honestly that was what I was hoping Craig was going to be, I really didn't like the typhon
Natural Selection 2 was the best alien game ever made
Play DUSKERS
Prey* fuck you AutoCorrect
Yeah, this, Duskers is fucking fun as shit
Will we ever get a game like Alien Isolation again?
>muffled honking in the distance
Literally just this
Make the alien AI even better, make the environments and sound design top notch, add native VR support though the VR mod works just fine, feels amazing to have that fucking alien directly in your face
Clowns are first line of defense against the Xenomorphs.
fucking this
youtube.com
I loved NS2.
It's a shame it never took off. Had some great fucking games when it first launched.
Exo suits were the shit.
...
I fucking LOVED ns2, shame the dev team blundered so much.
>jetpack grenadeir assaulting an alien base for what seems like hours
>jetpack shotgunner/ fade and just annihilating players
But nothing NOTHING beats being a commander on free weekends, yelling commands over the microphone, giving noobs waypoints, dropping medkits and weapons. Fuck I loved ns2 so much.
Noob comms literally BEST cooms
>SOMEONE SHOOT THE FUCKING PTERODACTYL
This just sounds like Evolve.
I don't want an alien game, because I don't want good shit to be squeezed for brand recognition sucks. But seeing as people are hell bent on doing it, I've heard most of the things I would consider least annoying about the one where you di the whole "Amnesia: dark descent" schtick of hiding from the scary monster. I guess that probably stays truest to the source material.
I want it to be Obsidians canceled game Aliens: Crucible
Every time I remember that it was canceled in favour of Colonial Marines I want to stab someone at Sega.
Probably not.
Horror games are few and far between, and are much smaller niche affairs.
They're more likely to try another Colonial marines over Isolation.
Not sure since I'm not really a fan of the franchise. Its a cool franchise don't get me wrong but never really was into it. I've seen at least one of the movies, at least I must have. I couldn't tell you about it though.
So speaking as a non-fan, make the campaign good and not CoD linear. Maybe something like System Shock or a Bioshock with how the level design is done. Make the shooting much better where the guns have recoil and the shooting has weight to it. So something like Killzone 2 but much better.
So am I in the ballpark of what could make a good Alien game Sup Forums?
It sounds like you want Prey (2017).
Well I do know that the Alien franchise has been very influential on video games as a whole. Aliens are much more interesting than those mimic aliens from Prey. I guess level design and pacing of the shock games and prey with the gun feel of Killzone or maybe Battlefield then. I got to watch these movies one day.
Holy crap, how have I never heard of this. Exploring deep space derelicts through the eyes and ears of failing drones looks great.
You shouldn't judge the game before you play it. Those mimics can turn into medkits, ammunition, things you might need. It's all very harrowing.
Alien Isolation but shorter and with a less predictable AI
Test hiro & moot fags
Aliens.
In descending order of frequency
Drones>Warriors>Face Huggers>Queen
Basically
Regular
Durable version
OHKO QTE
Big Bad
I want to play a space marine trapped on some isolated rock investigating the sudden depopulation of a Weyland-Yutani colony by unknown hostiles. Your team is picked off in increasing frequency by the xenos. Act one ends with you alone with the means to defend yourself via making defensible positions. You have access to muntions, traps, explosives and ammunition. Your weapons deteriorate with use. Only the air inside is tenable as the colony was in process of mining ore and terraforming. Outside you have 15 minutes until asphyxiation with adequate emergency air accessible to you, keeping in mind you may want to save it. There is 1:1 atmosphere, winds 70mph avg, temp 10c before windchill. You have stamina for actions such as sprinting, rushing, and melee. You have limited armor supplies that deteriorate.
>Alien game.
Isolation was pretty damn good. I reckon it would be scary to play an isolation style game as Newt before the marines arrive .
>Aliens game.
Acid blood that actually melts through walls. Non scripted door welding. Focus on atmosphere.
I loved the pyramid map in the latest AVP game with the moving walls. Maybe have a psychotic AI that would close/ open bulkheads to fuck with you.
>The badass vehicles in Aliens.
did you know that the tank in aliens is one of those air-plane towing vehicles with a bunch of bodywork over the top of it.
>OHKO QTE
My base reaction is to tell you to fuck yourself sideways with a crooked broomstick, but I know this would be better than any alternative, like having to shoot them manually (or risk the OHKO), or god forbid they just bounce off you like Borderlands scythids and deal X damage.
>walk down a dark corridor
>spooky ambient noises
>no xenomorph in sig-
>ping......ping.......ping...ping..ping
Nothing because the Alien monsters is old and boring at this point. There's nothing new to do with it that won't seem trite or an obvious attempt to refresh a long stagnant intellectual property. There's a reason the movies don't work anymore.
It's survival horror and what do you think a successful face-hugging means? It's not my favorite idea but it's realistic.
Wait, when the fuck do you see a Praetorian?
Waking up a few hours later and scrambling to find an automated surgery bay seems scary.
Work on making your sales pitch sound a bit more casual
Fuck off faggot
