Well, how Sephiroth ended up is a direct result of Hojo's actions right?
So if Sephiroth succeeds in his whole ascend to godhood thing then Hojo "succeeds" because his creation went on to be the dominate form of life on the planet.
Basically he's willing to die, and get everyone else killed too, so long as doing so proves that he was right.

Why does Hades always get a bum rap. He was literally, LITERALLY the least assholish of all the greek gods. Athena turned a women into a snake monster for getting raped. Aries gets off on war. Zeus was Zeus. Hades didn't fuck with nobody sans some asshole who tried to steal his wife.

It's kind of hilarious just how shit a villain Adachi really was. He only indirectly kills two people over the course of an entire year and could have gotten away with everything if he just shut up and didn't be a bitch.
