Stop shilling your channel Jim. Fuck off to your yiffing room.

>i need a literal cuck to tell me lootboxes are bad because i've never had a thought or opinion of my own
That's your mindset

lootboxes aren't bad
they're only bad if you play bad games and are poor

I'm so glad I don't pay attention to the outrage of the week

FAT KEKOLD

If anything that's the contrary, poor people have incentives to get to a gatcha payment system where whales get to pay the brunt of the cost in their stead.

Isn't it amazing that no matter how valid a point a person makes, no one will ever take them seriously if they're fat.

>cucky boi jim is against lootboxes
god damn now i have to defend lootboxes just to not get lumped in with this fat fuck

and an actual cuckold

Better start loving Publishers as well.

Knowing this contrarian cuck, I wont be surprised if he comes out in full support of them.

>Having to pay extra for content thats already in the game is a-okay cause I can use it as a way to say I'm richer than some user on Sup Forums
Great.

Foot socks?

...

the only game i see them doing it right is injustice 2

>gets paid 12K a month to give opinions.

youtube.com/watch?v=dZqo4OZ0Pqs

he's even uglier as a pixel drawing how is this possible

t. proof Jim is right

why are gaymers so unable to control themselves that they think loot boxes are addicting?

>literally who has an opinion! better make a thread on Sup Forums xD

Jim is literally always right.

I hate his stupid fucking face so goddamn much. He's a disgusting fucking cuck and a smarmy fucking bastard as well, I constantly want to punch him in the fucking face.

But, lootboxes are fucking cancer.

>cuckoldry is right

Kids have no self control

fuck of shill

Whether cuckoldry is right or not, it IS A right.

No one is able to 100% control themselves, the human brain is stupid and easy to manipulate specially when corporations have got a multitrillionaire apparatus to effectively program entire populations

If a videogame made me rob a bank, would i be guilty?

It's like I can't have the same opinion of someone unless I get called thoughtless sheeple.

...

they're so fucking amazing that even China out of all fucking places regulates them

Of course you would be guilty, what kind of analogy is that?
A better analogy is this picture, i just triggered someone's desire to have a cold soft drink with it
That person isn't 100% in control of himself because someone a million times richer than him has conditioned him, you see

Why are Brits on-average so hideous?

It's not that people who gamble on lootboxes are free of guilt, it's more about regulating that shit. I mean just go and read that activision patent and see how disgusting and exploitative their approach is.

It's like trying to back up your opinion with an egotistical fat cum eating British dude is stupid

they are in control of them self. You just suggested the idea of having a coke to them, then they consider it and make a decision on what to do. If i tell you "oh you should go see the new blade runner movie it's great" there's a slightly higher chance you would see it if you already hadn't because I made you think about it. We may not be in control over what ideas enter our mind but we are in control of our actions

Who the fuck is this anyways? I keep seeing its name pop up on Sup Forums and Sup Forums

Gee, maybe google it if you wanna find out, retard

/ourguy/

Don't forget, it's not everyone shelling out for microtransactions, the majority of money is made by the handful of whales throwing down for this shit.
I'm not in any way condoning microtransactions, but I recall him bringing up the fact that games as a whole are cheaper than they ever have been, seeing as $60 today is much cheaper than $60 in the 90s. I worry IF microtrns ever get phased out, they won't just flat out jack up the prices. Sounds like something that would happen.

Some idiots on Sup Forums can't accept agreeing with a person they hate every now and again. It fries their brain to even conceive of it. So they just start calling people sheep.

If someone makes a good point, regardless of who they are it is a good point and it would be a fallacy to ignore it just because of their reputation.

Games are anything but just 60$. There hasn't been a single AAA release that didn't have fucking season pass and quite large number of them have microtransactions as well. Also, idgaf that they choose to go cinematic route and end up with 10x the budget.

Any game that has loot boxes as a manner of progression is undermined by the loot boxes, prove me wrong you fucker

He also addressed that before the first point, but that would only really pertain to games with those season passes or DLC. I would argue many games are still worthy of being called "full and complete games" before you factor in DLC, just don't look far outside Nintendo for that.

Thanks for the 280 character limit twitter

>Sup Forums is so far gone that anons are unironically defending microtransactions and lootboxes
Where did things go so wrong?

>Giving a shit about overwatch lootboxes

Why? Its just skins, why do you care if people want to pay money for them? You're not a better player or have better stats for having them.

I mean she's technically correct. If you are autistic and think a gay nightclub will be more comforting to you than a regular nightclub, you're in for a twist.

tortanic. it always comes back to the tortanic. brought in so many underage users and reinforced total contrarian personalities no matter what it may be

Everyone please watch my video I need youtube money to pay my wife's bull since shes so ugly she just looks like a female version of me

>youtube money
He makes his money from patreon plebs.

Because it set the precedence for games all over the industry to have, and now built around, the lootboxes. If we don't recognize the harm it does to the consumer and product now, it will be too late. To quote Martin Niemöller,
"First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."

People are naturally impulsive, the point of conditioning or marketing is to tip that balance from being neutral to being even a slight bit biased towards buying/engaging in behavior. No one is trying to say that you lose control of your faculties.

>this fat annoying piece of shit makes far more money than the average person
we need another plague

>To quote Martin Niemöller
jim sterling viewership everyone

Some of us work for EA and have a family to feed, you dolt

If you entitled f*cks are more concerned about playing as Vador than about my hospital bills and my wife's son next meal then fine, congratulations on being a heartless entitled gamer

Because there's an entire subindustry dedicated to making microtransactions as attractive as possible to lure people in, and it's completely unregulated because nobody can take games seriously enough to legislate them unless it's about violence.

It's not just people with more money than sense throwing money at a game to get fancy hats, it's developers contracting out to companies that are basically addiction specialists in order to make their microtransaction system as irresistible as possible.

Even when he's right he's still a glutton and a pervert.

>Entire NES, SNES, GBA, DS library backlogged
>Stocked up on HD collections and games from the PS2, PS3, Gamecube, Wii era I missed
>Still support budget and niche japanese games

Just let the industry burn. It's better this way.

That's the mindset of people who bought lootboxes in the first place, and regurgitate corporate PR.

Many people have a hard time thinking for themselves.

Not defending this, but honest question I'd like to raise. Jim consistently makes the point "companies do microtransactions because they want to make more money." While sacrificing your customer satisfaction for the sake of profit will come back to bite you (in which he himself has even said), is it really counterproductive for a company to try and make more of a profit for as little resource consumption as possible? That said, where does the money for the microtransactions go? Same place the sales profits go? Is it really just straight to the top of the corporate ladder or does it circulate into the company to fuel evenly eery project and department they have? Or is it dependent on the company model? I just want to know if not just the CEO gets to pocket this, but maybe it goes to fund other projects the company may spearhead, or it contributes to the Christmas bonuses for people Rachael in HR or Mike the janitor.

so where can I sign up to become an "addiction specialist"?

Small companies need to throw profits back into their products to keep themselves going and to hopefully grow the company. Huge companies are so stable and diversified that extra profits typically just go into shareholders pockets and as bonuses for executives.

Capitalism was never envisioned to work with companies that can operate across the globe instantaneously with $100bn in assets. This ain't no island with a lemonade stand on it.

Have fun dying on that hill.

I knew defending Rober E Lee's Charolettesville statue statue was a moot point because of people unable to associate an argument with a group of people. I will only make these points with either people I trust or on an anonymous imageboard.

Public speaking is a fantastic skill to have, isn't it?

good goy

I don't play many modern games. I can't afford it, and there are many games in the AAA industry I have no interest in. I think Jim's articles are a great go-to for getting my feet in the water for games I wouldn't ordinarily hear about and I dig into deeper myself. In a sense it's a lot like Sup Forums in that regard.

You know you can just nod your head respectfully in agreement and move on, right? You don't have to suck the spunk out of his wife's cunt, just because you agree with him. At least, that's what it seems like when you go so far as to feel the need to defend him on a mongolian grill training forum.

BORN DIFFERENT

BORN KEKOLD

Haven't bought a "AAA" game since Dragon Age, which was right around the time the day one DLC and microtransaction creep began settling in. I decided shortly after that it was best to not support the entirety of the media industry and to let each branch die by their own devious devices, but they just keep coming up with new, horrible, nightmarish ways to corrupt what little good is left there and squeeze unwitting people out of more money, all while simultaneously producing absolutely awful, low-quality trash that was the product of lavish multi-million dollar budgets.

It's honestly mind boggling, really. I know it's wishful thinking that the majority of people would grow a spine or sense of integrity/justice in this matter, but honestly I think it ultimately comes down to the average person's unnecessarily inflated spending power. We need a major economic collapse to right these wrongs -- true quality is born from scarcity.

All I said was he makes a good point, and that point is "lootboxes are affecting the gaming industry negatively and it is propagating because consumers accept them." I'd like to think that's more along the lines of nodding than "suck the spunk out of his wife's cunt". The fact you bring that up shows me your not here for vidya discussion, you're here to gossip about eceleb drama.

Stick to getting cucked and having another man's nut on your face fat faggot

Hypothetically even if 95% of gamers stopped buying micro-transactions, as long as the 5% that do gives them enough profit for the minimalistic effort it takes to make the items being purchased and writing the code to sell it, it will continue. Now if that 95% were to full out boycott games with microtransactions, that would be a different story I'd imagine.

the only answer is to not buy the game

>The fact you bring that up shows me your not here for vidya discussion, you're here to gossip about eceleb drama.
I think you forgot the thread you posted in. Jim's cum must also kill the brain cells.

>traffic for Sup Forums went from 25 million page views to 125 million page views in 2 years

Take a fucking guess. I saw people praising the ever living shit out of Modern Warfare 2 saying it was during the classic era of FPS's. Yes, I shit you not. We have shills and kiddies in this fucking place swarming like all hell over the place trying to act like history revisionists.

>20 minute in depth video with a lot of research from a professional video game critic
>lul its just like a twitter comment from some random gamer!!

stop posting about this fat autistic retard here plz

What a great argument.

My point exactly. I'm thinking of just not buying any game that has a lootbox system, but I'm trying to think if that takeout any games I actually own. Does that mean I can't play TF2 anymore?

>they are in control of them self.

Seeing as how you're an illiterate, I take it you're the number 1 target for conditioning.

...

spotted the one who spends trillion of dollar on lootboxes

TF2 might be a rare exception in this matter since it took a few years to get to that point having started out as a simple team shooter, before bringing hats and eventually evolving that idea into a loot system overhaul complete with lootboxes. It feels like it was born more from necessity as new game sales dried up to keep the game going and continue turning a decent profit, and I doubt they expected it to be as massive as a success as it was then (though they sure as hell capitalized with CSGO).

Does Nintendo have lootboxes?

>You have to praise some shitty E-celeb's every breath, or you're a corporate shill.
Lootboxes are shit, the cucks are just as bad

Not yet

While I agree with that, I feel like my point would be less impactful if I still continued to play a game with a heavy lootbox system, and the servers generated my playing and added it to the total traffic I would technically be contributing to the game even without purchasing.

Thinking about fleeing to them.

TF2's loot box system is an odd case as you can pay nothing and still have the ability to unbox them, you don't even need to unbox if you know what you want exactly.
If you want to protest loot boxes, simply don't buy keys for them, the team working on TF2 is still motivated to make the game genuinely enjoyable for the players.

>the team working on TF2 is still motivated to make the game genuinely enjoyable for the players.
you mean the community? Inferno is the last thing the devs have done in how long?

kill yourself

Boogie's a fat centrist faggot and even I have some respect for him. This pasty disgusting blob on the other hand is an opportunistic piece of shit
