Broke 2 or 3 weapons doing so and the ones I got back were all weaker than the ones I broke or any of the others I had so I decided they weren't worth it

Yeah, I was pretty bummed out with how easy the game was. I decided to play on master mode and only allow myself to heal between battles to spice things up though and he still stuck out as particularly easy to me. I just thought it was kinda weird.

I got my shit kicked in by the Lynel on top of Ploymus mountain. Then after some adventuring and fighting shitty Lizalfos, Moblins etc. I went straight onto destroying Lynels, blight Ganons and Ganon himself, game gets way too easy way too fast.

I remember encountering one first time. I thought it may have been a cool friendly NPC. Then his question mark started to go red. Then he drew his 6 foot bow.

I panicked, drew my own and fired, completely missing. Then got frozen. Then as I struggled to get out, he finished me off.

After several failed attempts to get revenge, I left him be. Was a brutally intense fight.

He isn't. They really amp up the starting area.

I mean yeah, but would it have killed for their to be one in a dungeon? Like actually blocking you, so you might have to... defeat it to progress.

It technically does appear in Hyrule Castle, twice even. But I get you, I liked the dungeons but felt it was lacking in grunts to kill or "kill rooms". Still, I loved exploring in Zelda, the world was beautifully crafted and I always looked forward climbing mountains or seeing what was in what area.

Yes. I went around that area at least 6 times. I completely missed the shining light at the entrance or at least it wasn't visible initially. I just had to go up a little further.

I went too far and saw the Lynel. Then I cried.

It's balanced by weapon durability being shit.
