Two games of the year barely months apart from each other

>Two games of the year barely months apart from each other
>Both on its first year
>And they're just the appetizer of the things to come

I can't think of a videogame platform (platform, not just console) with a stronger launch year; I just can't.

>company's two largest franchises
>just the appetizer
Nigga, do you order a giant fucking steak as an appetizer? Nintendo served its main dish before the appetizers have even started cooking. By the end of 2018, Nintendo will have become irrelevant again, only to resurface every couple of years for another deceptive Zelda trailer.

>>And they're just the appetizer of the things to come

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. They could very well be the pinnacle games on the system and from here on we just keep getting trash or mediocrity.

This.
OP is a brain damaged Switchlet.

>look mom I posted it again xD

>being 12

>And they're just the appetizer of the things to come
I think that's pretty much it. The Switch is disspointing as fuck as an owner of one.

And then all the third party support evaporates, Nintendo stops bringing as many games and the games that do come are trash like Color Splash and Star Fox Zero
I pity all of you who weren't around for the Wii U debacle because you have no clue what's about to come next, and it ain't pretty
EA dropped out of creating games for Switch faster than they did even for the Wii U
Trust me, once the initial excitement dries up, the Switch will literally just be the Wii U all over again with all the disappointment and missed potential that entails

And Nintendo will try to salvage it by releasing the Switch 2.0, jipping all original Switch adopters and indoctrinating even more shills claiming that this time Nintendo is back on top.

Look, I don't regret my WiiU buy one bit. It gave me countless hours of fun with the only console MH in years as well as some surprises like Bayo 2 and W101. If you BotW and Odyssey make the Switch valuable to you, that's fine, but don't delude yourself into thinking this has altered the inevitable course of this console that's been repeated since the Gamecube.

Give me Pikmin 4 and I'll be happy

BotW and Odyssey don't make the Switch valuable enough to me, as a Wii U owner, BotW is a Wii U game and I have no reason to buy it on Switch when I can just pirate it on Wii U
if Switch keeps being a Wii U port machine I'll have no reason to ever get it

>2 gotys
lol

What if I told you Xenoblade Chronicles was a competent RPG at best? What if I told you Wii crybabies were hyping it to shit because it was one of the rare few exclusives to its name? What if I told you the redeeming qualities of Chronicles will be completely undermined by the new weeby direction the series is headed in?

I'd be more worried about XC2 if XBX turned out to be bad, which it wasnt. The series is pure quality and I have no doubt that XC2 will be great either.

I still don't want one yet, I'm waiting for just one more game since I already have Zelda on Wii U and Mario isn't quite enough, probably Prime 4.
But the influence of this fucking shithole is incredible. I've been here for a decade and I still fall for the bullshit. Years ago, even before the Wii U released, I said to myself "man, it would be cool if Nintendo just focused on a handheld, especially one with an HDMI out option, so I wouldn't have to buy two systems to play all their exclusives." and then exactly that happened, and I was like "wow, this looks like fucking shit!" because of people spamming those fucking retards at GiantBomb beating the piss out of the system and saying it's fragile and ass, the connectivity issues which were never even spoken of again after release week, and other gay shit about the system bending, scratching, etc.
The Switch is exactly what I wanted from Nintendo for so long now, and I was crossing my fingers for the thing to completely fail anyway.

I would tell you that you are wrong

Don't just tell me. Show me.

Gotta wait til December, although I'm guessing the Sup Forums hype coupled with the goodwill the series has accrued and Nintendo bonus points will make it a "masterpiece" for the system.

Well if Mario and Zelda are out what's left? Metroid and Pokemon? What other Nintendo games are fun? Maybe Kirby? Kibry games are pretty good. Animal Crossing will probably come out next year I guess.

OP has to know. Either he is on all out defence mode or he is baiting.

>Ill show you through universal praise
Whoa, that will show me.

Im pumped for the new smash.

Mario Kart 9 and Smash Bros come into mind.

But they even put a nigger in the commercial, you have to buy it now

New IPs. Splatoon was well received and ARMS just needs a bit of polish. Nintendo exploring new game genres. Have they done an RTS yet?

as a Nintendo fan, you're right

>the inevitable course of this console that's been repeated since the Gamecube.
It really sucks to still be a Nintenbro after all those years. What the hell happed after the N64, bros?

RTS would be kinda interesting to see them try. The Fire Emblem Turn based strategy games are fun.

Pikmin is Nintendo-baby RTS.

Not after. During. Nintendo set itself back a whole generation by not adopting the CD.

Eh... I guess. Not a traditional one by any means but I see what you are getting at.

What would Sup Forums do if TF3 is released on switch?

Honestly Pikmin is the closest thing I that could work for a console RTS

Any other would just feel like its hampered by console controls.

It was a good console for my age at the time, I cant find any working original DC games cause they all broke, luckly piracy is an option though.

As in Titanfall? Probably won't play it because EA has their claws in Respawn now.

ARMS is polished to all hell, it just need more contents, which is coming, but ever so slowly.

Biff is currently leaking a new character

Nice, that game was actually fun

FE Warriors was actually good, way better than Hyrule Warriros, roster was disappointing but the control on the battlefield felt so damn good and natural to FE

>"Third parties won't abandon nintendo this time!" -increasingly nervous man

>lists a bunch of company statements designed to appease investors
My god, man. Nintenbros are stuck in a Ground Hog Day loop. We've gotta help them break free.

fuck off Sup Forums

>wii
>few rare exclusives

I do, but even in that case, Valve giving up their cash cow of TF2 is not going to happen soon (Let alone in the Switch's life span) and the fact that The Orange Box on Xbox 360 and PS3 prove they didn't give a shit beyond the PC means it's not going to happen.

That Raichu is so CUTE!

Best Wii exclusive coming through.
>There will never be a Red Steel 3 on Switch

>Valve announces TF3 for Switch before even entertaining the notion of HL3
This is how gaming dies.

>Pretending Pokemon Switch doesn't exist

There's no point.
Shit, you'd think they'd be happy with 3ds hacking and getting able to enjoy nintendo's snes and gba games but instead they start pulling guilt tripping shit posting as if a large company actually gives a fuck.

>Zelda
>largest franchise

lol
pokemon is laughing at you
and coming to switch soon :)

This.
Even if the Switch Pokémon game is shit like the 3DS games were, they’ll still get good reviews and sell like hotcakes.

>pretending Pokemon has or will ever be as popular as it was during Gen 1 and 2
>pretending it even holds a candle to Mario and Zelda
Kids don't even care about Pokemon anymore. In the West, they're all about Skylanders, and in Japan it's Yokai Watch. The only people who buy it are nostalgiatards like you.

Don't let their lies and half-truths influence you.
There is nothing wrong with Nintendo (unless you think refusing to kneel in front of third parties is a bad thing).

>Kids don't even care about Pokemon anymore
'-'

What is;
>Animal Crossing
>Metroid
>Pokemon
>Fire Emblem

Fuck dude, you're so right. Every dev should just make their own hardware and release their titles exclusively on them. That'll save the gaming industry.

>thinking any of those titles carry as much weight or hype as Mario and Zelda
Nintenbros be digging.

It's called a system seller.
Give people a reason to pick up the console.
what the fuck are you talking about?

That's like saying "The Xbox faded into obscurity and irrelevance after Halo launched with it"

I forgot how unpopular Pokémon Go was. Really jogs the noggin.

Not too concerned about 3rd party support with the Switch, the 3DS had plenty of 3rd party support so I don't see why the Switch wouldn't.

It likely won't be getting the AAA titles that will push the limits of what the PS Pro and Scorpio can do simply because the Switch won't have enough power to run them but that doesn't bother me. Can't even remember the last time a huge budget AAA game even piqued my interest.

Nintendo always has its best games at launch year for their consoles if you haven't noticed. If anything it just means future titles aren't gonna compare

>Third parties make money
>Abandoning money

The big thing is that Ubisoft showed what you need to do to make dosh on the Switch: AA titles that are focused on content and substance over E3 hype.

But... it did...

...

You also forgot how billions of people had access to Pokémon go too it seems.

>X and Y 16.2 million
>Sun and moon 15.91

Oh man, who was playing Pokemon GO? What gen was Pokemon GO? Who's playing it now?

>ITS A SLIPPERY SLOPE GUYS
fuck off

You forgot to mention pikmin
They don't have to carry as much weight as much as they just have to give people something to get excited about in general.

You launch your game system with a system seller.

The Wii had Wii Sports, the Xbox had Halo, the PS2 had a ton of launch day titles instead of just one big system seller.

Walk into any schoolroom in America or Japan and ask how many kids play Pokemon.

switch has barely sold 8 million in 6 months and you think is going to succed?
The WiiU was at 7 millions at this point and the 3ds at 12 millions

>Nintendo doesn't release blockbuster titles first year
>SWITCH IS DOOMED
>Nintendo releases blockbuster titles first year
SWITCH IS DOOMED

>Barely release anything for their previous console.
>Save all the games for the new console.

Nintendbros are impressed by this.

>People still care about Pokemon

Fucking WHY?

Is there any Nintendo spin offs that you want? I have to admit Federation Force was fun, but it came out the wrong time

Just did. Answer is 12 million.

PS2.

Gonna need a source for these lies

I want a new IP.

It did? It sold about 24 million which was solid. It only lost to the PS2, and that's largely because that thing was the second coming of Jesus in Japan

And it's not showing any signs of wavering. By this point Wii U was selling below 100,000 every month

>The WiiU was at 7 millions at this point and the 3ds at 12 millions
How did the WiiU sell 7M in 6 months when it didn't sell 5m in the first year?
How did the 3ds sell 12m and 6 months when it sold 12m in the year, with most of it's sales being the second 2 quarters?

they're weeb games

>Nintendo literally gets DOOMED
>complete with best cover art

I don't know.

The irony is that thing I like most about Pokemon vs other JRPGs, the personal connection to your units/party members, hasn't been the focus more in the single-player aspect (Soul Silver and HEart Gold were the height of this aspect in my book).
Hence, I got to Xenoblade now for all my personal-connectiong JRPG needs

Uhhhh.
Another Paper Mario game with a story focus like the first two.
A new pokemon spinoff that isn't dungeon would be cool. Maybe a tribal-era Pokemon game.
A Bowser 4X game where you have to take over kingdoms of other enemy-kings with simplified but WAY more asymmetric 4X gameplay

>barely months apart from each other
8 (eight) months is barely months?

The switch is outselling the fucking 3ds, is going to be the new Wii

That's hyperbole obviously but his point about Nintendo showing some restraint and not over-saturating the Switch Software market when it won't do them any good has been a better strategy than before where they either blew their load all at once or didn't delivery anything meaningful for 6-12 months

>Niggers still pretend the good Doom is this one and not the classics
At least it's a pretty great FPS but don't expect even half of the praise of fucking ARMS.

Pokemon Go was far more popular than Gen 1.

They certainly didn't over-saturate the Wii U's software lineup.

Good.

>Zelda
>Mario Kart 8
>Mario Odyssey
>Mario+Rabbids
>PuyoPuyo+Tetris
>DOOM
>Skyrim

Some of these are available on other platforms, but it's been a really strong launch, especially for a handheld comparing it to the DS & 3DS

>New Wii
I dunno man, there aren't words that can describe how crazy normies went over that.
I remember at my local mall that the entire first floor was taken up by kids, teens and even adults (probably parents) who wanted to try the motion controls.

The Wii was lightning in a bottle.

But maybe...a big part of it is how the system will be marketed going forward and how it'll hit on the various niches that people want.

Well that's what I meant with not releasing something meaningful for up to a year after launch.
The Wii U was pure Blue Ocean tactics and didnt have a lot of bite in terms of strong system sellers
Even the people who knew well what it was didnt bother picking one up at times

It was also on a platform that literally everyone owns. And it was free.

I literally find it funny that you animals argue over the superiority of hardware. Sure power is a thing, but enjoy your games and shut the fuck up.
If they want a cheap NVIDIA shield let 'em fuckin' have it

The Switch has nothing but kids games.

>I can't think of a videogame platform (platform, not just console) with a stronger launch year
Because it doesn't exist
