Why didn't it sell better?

Why didn't it sell better?

better question, why did this get a sequel and bully did not?

Isn't Bully 2 still officially "in development" despite hearing nothing of it for years?
Bully was fucking awesome. Was one of the last games I 100%ed before I started not having the time or patience for that.

Didn't they have to totally gimp the sequel just to release it? Why did they even bother?

Because it ain't gta.

Are Rockstar even going to make any more games after RDR 2 or is it just GTA Online microtransactions for them from now on?

Bully 2 is sitting on the same shelf Agent is sitting on. They are never coming out.

You're wrong! You're lying!

AO rating is a death sentence to sales

What was Agent even going to be? I've never seen anything significant from the development process. It's like it was written on a board at a meeting as an idea and never went beyond that.

Because it was Splinter Cell Jr. in terms of gameplay.

I don't really think it ever aimed to be as in depth a stealth game as Splinter Cell. I'll say that it was a fucking scary ass game provided you didn't use the radar. It was actually a lot better game than it was given credit at the time. Though it's a shame it just turns into a straight shooter 3/4 through.

edgy game tbf, it was way too violent

It was banned virtually everywhere. Considering it still sold 1.7 million despite that means it didn't do too badly.

nah. once a game company has a taste of that easy money its all she wrote.

I actually love this game until you get a gun, I fucking hated that revolver, stopped playing from there, is it worth to keep moving forward?

Sad but true. It's why we'll never got a proper ending to Half Life.

Yes, the pew pew stops at some point, the final boss is worth fighting

Definitely. I fucking hate that level where the revolver first shows up though. Pain in the ass.

Manhunt is a case of a game having wonderful atmosphere and great character design but dreadfully repetitive gameplay

>great character design
wut?

A cold war era spy game made by Rockstar. Take Two last renewed the trademark 5 December 2016, despite the game being announced June 2009 during the Sony E3 press conference.

That controversy was obnoxious. really hurt the game. It wasn't anything special to begin with but it was the "fact" that the wii versions motion controls "felt to real" alongside the graphic deaths.

I don't think them renewing the trademark increases the chances of them actually doing something with the idea unfortunately.

Like I said, its on the same shelf Bully 2 is on. They keep saying its coming, but it never will.

A game where you play as a death row inmate killing people for a snuff film is pretty niche.

barely any advertising. especially for a rockstar game

Yeah, I was 13 when this game released and I thought it was the coolest shit ever. But I literally didn't know anyone else that played it. It's the perfect game for kids who grew up on stuff like rotten.com, Faces of Death, horror movies, and grindhouse movies. Otherwise I can see why there's little appeal.

I love the grindhouse feel of this game though. Piggsy is legitimately fucking terrifying. Some of the level design, particularly as you get deeper into the game, is very good. The game has a really solid level of difficulty. Controls didn't age that well but still perfectly playable. It's a great game, not the best stealth mechanics around but it's got way more style than most stealth games. It probably deserved better, but the subject matter made sure it never got that.

I remember seeing ads on TV all the time when this game was coming out.

Are you guys talking about the mall level? It's been a while since I've played through Manhunt, I remember that one being a bit shit though.

why do i keep seeing these threads pop up asking why games with niche appeal weren't big sellers? is it not obvious?

I bought it, why didn't you?

>edgy game tbf, it was way too violent
translates into "It didn't run on my nintendo"

Nah, it's where the Wardogs have your family tied up and if they see you they kill them.
