>Go thrift store shopping about 10 years ago
>Found a sealed copy of Harvest Moon (SNES) at a second hand store for $5
>Know it's value and snatch it up immediately
>Hide it in my closet so that it can stay safe from damage and accumulate value
>Mom randomly decides to clean up my bedroom one day while I'm gone
>Finds game buried in my closet
>Thinks its garbage because it's not on my game shelf
>Throws it in the trash
>Don't find out it's gone for several weeks after it's far too late to save
>Know it's sitting in a landfill somewhere
>Sometimes check Amazon to see current prices of the game
>As of now, it's $274 for a used copy of the game with box
>My copy was still sealed in its original packaging
>Bet I could have sold it for at least $500 if I still had it
>If I had opened the game, played it, and put it on my game shelf, it would have survived the clean up and I'd still own it today
I don't think I'll ever get over it.
I threw out all of my game cases to make room for more games. One of my biggest regrets.
Not really super rare, but I have an original PAL set of the .hack games.
Your fault for shoving it like trash into your closet, dumbass.
Just remember you gave up 269 dollars because you wouldn't keep your own room tidy.
>this story of parents throwing their child's obviously non-garbage possessions in the garbage without consulting them is frighteningly common
I'm so glad my parents weren't absolutely fucking retarded like so many poor children's parents were.
Megaman collection for the gamecube
worth over $150 these days because of the horrid control scheme it had.
>A to shoot
>b to jump
>never bought quarantine
>its 280 on amazon
>I will never know the feeling of lining up the boxes to make the image on the side
The statue itself isn't that rare but I did get it signed by Kevin Conroy.
i have a magic the gathering card signed by the president of the company that made Path of Exile, since he won an MtG world tournament once
I've wanted it my entire life. One day, when I'm drunk enough to justify the purchase, I'll get one off ebay.
who?
Kevin Conroy
Oh, okay.
I sold all my rare vidyer but at its prime I had the complete Steel Battalion collection right down to the original packaging and extra screws. Even the warranty stickers were unused. Think I sold it all for four or five hundred.
??? the fuck are you on about? I just looked that shit up and at most it's worth like $20
I have a physical copy of Killing Floor, does that count?
My pride and joy is my complete in box copy of Mother 3, got that shit for like $30 back in the day and nowadays it's worth about $70 or $80 in the condition I have it. Not really much, but I still love that thing.
Otherwise I don't know man, I'm not really one for collecting. Used to own Conker's Bad Fur Day but after beating it once, decided to flip it. Got it for like $30 originally and sold it for $100 lel, also sold a copy of Tomba 2 for the same price
Factory sealed Fire Emblem for GBA.
Super Princess Peach for DS
so she killed her mom so she could bang her dad right
I believe less than 50 were made and I own two of them.
What is it?
It's a limited edition music box that plays Radical Dreamers.
UK here so some of this might not be considered rare for you guys. I've got a fairly big ps2 collection. Grim grimoire is probably one of the rarer ones I own. SMT lucifers call (nocturne in America) took a while to get as well.
On ps1 I used to have misadventures of tron bonne as a kid and managed to lose the disk. Literally heartbreaking that I don't have it any more.
Those pictures are all vaguely unsettling to me and I can't really tell why, which makes me even more unsettled.
Tron Bonne is expensive as fuck here in America too.
I have three of these, one being sealed.

Hotel dusk
i own a copy of team buddies. i've heard that's fairly rare.

I guess the Sonic 10th anniversary collectors thing they handed out when you bought SA2.
Professor Layton Revoltech still in the box.
I also own Battlefrog figures that I've never come across someone else having.
do you happen to have the pictures that somebody took with one of those where he has a gun
you know the ones
My wii u
A fleck of Gabe Newell's shit. I followed him into a bathroom listened to him shit for almost a half hour and when he left the stall I went in and he had absolutely fucking wrecked it so I scraped a bit of poo stuck to the toilet bowl into a baggy and I keep it under my pillow
this thing
I don't believe you. Nobody would ever do that, you've got to make your shitposting more believable.
Anyone sane would've taken at least a full scoop, not just "a fleck"
it's ok I went out and found it for myself jackass
Don't be stupid. Do you know how hard it'd be to sleep with a huge bag of shit under your pillow without breaking it open and getting shit all over the bed?
this
A Nasty Norsemann with starstorm insomnia.
I agree. The other two replies blamed that user, when it was obviously the mom who seems to have no respect for her kid's belongings. Whether or not his room was messy, she shouldn't throw away something as expensive as a video game, especially without even asking him first.
Probably Cubivore.
These. Assholes parents throw away things before asking, especially if its a sealed game. Throwing out a sealed anything is just malicious cunty behaviour.
You've just gotta put it in a hot water bottle or something. Jeez user, it's like you've never stolen a huge scoop of shit with the goal of sleeping with it before.
physical copy of earthsiege 2 and system shock 2
I don't really own any actual rareties since its extremely hard to come by in my country, but heres some stuff I have.
>snes games in original packaging
>ps1 games in original packaging
>Nier:Automata Limited Edition
>a bootleg gameboy from the USSR
Refurbed it a little while ago and turned it into a nice little gaming rig
Pls rate
heres a picture of the handheld, different ones were released each with a single built-in game. Its probably not worth anything but its pretty neat I guess.
I have babby's first rare, a gold Ocarina of Time for N64
Not exactly rare
I've also got a Pikachu Yellow GBC. Somewhere...
