Was Underground the absolute peak of the Tony Hawk series?

DOING EVERYTHING I CAN

PROUD....

I really liked Downhill Jam

OH I CAN'T WAIT TO TELL YOU ALL ABOUT HER

Possibly. 3 is the high point for classic, but past that it's a toss-up; Underground 1 has a way better story mode than THUG2, but THUG2 has a pretty damn good Classic mode which is missing entirely in THUG1. 4 is kind of the odd child between the classic gameplay and THUG, but is solid on its own and has some of the most infuriating goals in the series.

American Wasteland is trash.

JERRY WAS A RACECAR DRIVER

HOLDING ON TO ALL MY HAM

YOU'RE NOT THE PERSON
THAT I BELIEVED IN YESTERDAY

I REALIZE

>tfw not good enough to face the hawkdads in THUG PRO but never any Sup Forums servers

Just recently played 4. The goals for the school level are absolutely insane, especially the one where you have to skate between the cones in the pool-thing.

You're playing on Sick, right? Wait 'till you unlock the pro challenges. Mullen's and Burnquist's will have your asshole doing crail slides in fury.

>mfw THPS5

Another amazing series went down the shitter.

It's best to pretend the series stopped someplace around THAW or Project 8. There was really nowhere for it to go from there and they were already scraping the barrel of innovation by THAW.

IF I FALL BACK DOWN YOURE GONNA HELP ME BACK UP AGAIN

>The 90's will never come back
I hope life after dead is just God letting you go back to the days in which you were happy

Is Disney Skate Adventure any good?

>tfw you go back and play THPS3 again after finishing the later games and forget how slow flip tricks are because there's no flip stat to upgrade
Triple kick/heelflips are something you actually need a ramp for instead of just a staircase or kicker, but man, 3 is such a solid goddamn game.

It's the best extreme sport game ever made

THERE'S A BLACK CLOUD OVER THIS HOUSE

It's good mechanically just because it's on the THPS4 engine, but actually gameplay wise, not really, even once you turn proper controls on. The levels are in THUG Pro if you want to play them, I think.

IIIIIIIIIIIII NEVER THOUGHT IT WOULD LAST THIS LONG

NOOOOOOOOW I THINK IT'S TIME THAT I MOVED ON

Why has no one come around and cities skylines or planet coaster'd this game yet?

I WAS BOOOOOOORN!
IN A CROSSFIRE HURRICAAAAANE!

>THUG PRO

Whoa, I wasn't aware this existed. How's the controller support?

WITH ALL THESE LONELY DAYS JUST ONE OF THEM HAS TO BE FILLED WITH A NIGHT OF YOU

Is this the biggest douchebag ever in a vidya gaem?

Playing THPS3 for the first time earlier this year was probably the most fun I've ever had with a game.

SHOW ME WHAT IT'S FOR
MAKE ME UNDERSTAND IT
I'VE BEEN CRAWLING IN THE DARK
LOOKING FOR THE ANSWER

DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH LONGER I CAN TAKE THIS, I GUESS FOREVER WILL DO!

I can still remember being a kid and almost missing the school bus because I finally managed to beat the game. THPS, SSX, I could just zone out for hours freeriding.

Good.

Any BMX bros here?

SCOOT THE BURBS.

THUG1 was the peak IMO, some will say 3 is the last real good Tony Hawk game.

fuck yeah bro

DIRTY AND FACELESS
WAITING TO HEED YOUR INSTRUCTIONS

TURN AROOUUUHHHH

It's a THUG2 mod so just fine, you can use the builtin keybinder or Joy2Key or whatever you want, and THUG Pro includes extra control options like which key combos you want to use for walking, spine transfers, etc (as those change per game and per console so not everyone will be familiar with the default PS2 style layout).

I marathoned the series from 1 to THAW earlier this year to see if they're as good as I remembered and it turns out yes, yes they are. 3 is definitely my favorite in the series- classic gameplay with almost all the refinements you need (other than 4's spine transfer), fantastic levels, imaginative goals and secrets, and the best soundtrack in the series tied with THPS2. I like the later games almost just as much, but you can tell that past a point they stop being arcade skateboarding games and start being Quake on wheels. Not that there's a huge problem with that, I fucking love Quake, but it's easy to see the difference when playing the whole run in a month or so, going from The 900 being a "holy shit, I actually landed it!" in THPS1/2 to 3's combo-bility with the Revert and double/triple taps and flatland combos, culminating with THUG2 where the added abilities and reworked stat points mean a "simple combo" tends to be two minutes of running, jumping, and doing easy 900s and 1080s while landing triple-tap fliptricks between every rail, and multiplayer has been refined to a set of about four tricks total.

>still no mod to fix the controls

I understand music rights make it impossible but REMASTER WHEN?

Are SSX: On Tour and SSX 2012 any good or should I just stick to the original trilogy?

What's wrong with the controls?

>doesn't know about THPSHD
Good

Steam version works perfectly fine with a controller.

1080 and Snowboard Kids are better than SSX

EARLY IN THE MORNIN

RISING TO THE STREET

Stick with the originals and 1080

Why do you need a remaster? Just play the PC versions if you want widescreen and HD, and track down mods for higher res textures if you REALLLYYYY need them (hint: you don't, each game has a pretty solid art style and custom stuff sticks out like a sore thumb).

After shit like THPS5 and THPSHD, people can't be trusted to not fuck up simple concepts. Let the dead lie.

2012 was alright but not as good as the originals

Just go get THUG Pro

you should try pumped bmx+
not the phone version, but the PC or vita one

>custom stuff sticks out like a sore thumb
Like how Doomguy's model is clearly from Quake 3?

BUT THE UNIVERSE DOESN'T SAY WHAT YOU WANT IT TO SAY

Can I skate my way into Andy Senpai's nice kawaii ass as Woody Chan?

>Bought it on xbox live
>Game crashes every time I get an achievement
>Never touched it since
I bet it's a good game, but it was such a turn off

That's Halo, you dip.

That's fair, he's a secret character. Not that different than fucking Wolverine and Darth Maul.

I'M NOT CRAZY

>8 trillion years later and there are still only 2 games in this franchise.

It hurts to live.

MUSIC P-P-POWER

THIS IS WHAT ITS LIKE WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE

>Yo, that thing looks like it's held togetha with duct tape!

American Wasteland was very underated.
Awesome soundtrack, heaps of customization and building that DIY skatepark by stealing landmarks and shit was dope.

>PC Port for THUG was only released in Australia.

What the fuck

They love the taste of blood, now I don't know what that means but I know that I mean it.

>Awesome soundtrack
I'll give you that.

>heaps of customization
In what way? Less customization in classic/free skate/MP than previous games and WAY, WAY less in Story- no customization beyond clothes and hair, you can't even pick your own Special tricks or combo inputs (once you finally fucking unlock them halfway through the game!).

>building that DIY skatepark by stealing landmarks and shit was dope.
Sure, except the Skate Ranch is fucking shit to actually skate on, and there's nothing to do there other than repeated "Do a combo off this piece" goals for Mindy that have you scoring peasly 5,000 point combos even on Sick.

DONT WORRY 'BOUT ME IM GONNA MAKE IT ALRIGHT
GOT MY ENEMIES CROSSED OUT IN MY SIGHTS
TAKE A BAD SITUATION GONNA MAKE IT RIGHT
IN THE SHADOWS OF DARKNESS I STAND IN THE LIGHT

>that ending when you beat THUG a second time

>jump right next to rail, doesnt register, demands too much precision with joystick
>at the same time is absolutely magnetic to walls, often battle between grind and walls
>that is until there is no clear indication that you cant grind on a wall at all for reasons unexplained
>small elevations can hang you up and the momentum system forces you to go back 10 feet to try again
>lightly walk forward into a wall, only sometimes fall down clearly not intentional
>perform the same jump 20 times, get 20 wildly different results
>no indication of stamina whatsoever, just keep pumping right trigger until it works
>spraying is extremely finnicky, half the time wont work at all while wall grinding especially
>awful map system
>extremely low fov, even with widescreen
i can only imagine the hell people had on dreamcast, its infuriating at times

This thread is pure autism. A bunch of faggots just spewing parts of sentences. I get that these are supposedly from songs in these games but think about what you'Re doing. pure 100% top grade autismal behaviour

The big problem with The 900 in THPS1 was that if you had the air to actually land it you'd get more points just doing an Indy or a Nosegrab and holding on - then later on it just became ridiculously easy to land, to the point where they literally made a joke 900 special move you could land with a standard stationary ollie

Yeah, I have no idea what happened there. At least it's in English and pirating it works just fine.

AMIBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

AMIBAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Is this one of the few franchises that Sup Forums almost unanimously likes?

SSX has the best aesthetic theming and soundtrack.

Oh, definitely, but it still had that cool factor of being so damn satisfying to actually land. Plus, any alternate trick is a good trick in 1 given you have to change up your tricks so much as there's no reverts or manuals to keep a combo going, so you're constantly getting less and less points with each trick (something that can be mitigated in later games where even a 1/10th score Kickflip is always worth doing for the multiplier).

ssx on tour has a few interesting things about it but no matter if tricky or 3 is your favourite, it's definitely inferior overall to both
it's worth playing once if you really like ssx but don't expect it to be as good as either of those

Hoffman > Mirra

CAUSE I DON'T CARE WHERE I BELONG NO MORE

SSX3 was great

GIRLS JUST WANT TO BEAT THE BOYS

I always muted BGM in Tony Hawk games.

Huge THfag here. I love the series and is definitely one of my favorites. I grew up playing 4-ProvingGround. I love each and every single one of the games a fuckton, even PSHD for some fucking reason and beat it 10+ times. After all the hype I've heard around THPS3 forever I picked it up and it was extremely underwhelming. Maybe it's because I'm not used to typically doing the 2 minute runs, but I didn't find the game anywhere near as enjoyable as the later games in the series. Is something seriously wrong with me? What's so great about 3? I think the skating within the game itself is pretty ace, but it's just not fun to do/explore the levels and goals.

Tricky and SSX3 were fantastic. I went through a lot of shit as a kid and those games were there when I needed to unwind. I still pop SSX3 in every now and then but my sister stole my Tricky disk.

Do games still have good licensed soundtracks anymore?

i hope you have a bad day

I remember playing this level on a demo disc for hours and hours
