can you not just call your CC provider/bank and ask to have that charge disputed?
generally you have to give the seller a chance to resolve your issue before you do that
Yes, but issuing a charge back will just result in EA nuking my Origin account and I won't be able to play FIFA anymore...
I have no sympathy for you. Who buys this garbage in the first place?
EA threw that chance away as soon as they revoked the customers' ability to get their money back.
>playing FIFA in 2018
This.
While I wouldn't care if my Origin account got banned because there's nothing lost than Mirror's Edge and a glorified benchmark game(Crysis 3) if I played anything worthwhile on there I'd fear my account being smacked too.
$90.
Jesus fucking Christ vidya is dead.
>fat virgin wants to have his cake and eat it too
You already have one tit in your mouth, why bother swatting away the other.
>he has origin
hehe
>is it legal to not do final sales
Take a guess, retard. Return is a privilege. An added service.
Your credit card processor might have a thing or two to say about that.
Unless someone is being fraudulent or dishonest you can't just go around doing chargebacks or your credit provider will have something to say about that.
Did EA clarify that all sales were final? If so why were refunds offered up until this point?
Why would you buy a game that hasn’t come out yet?
This.
That's bullshit t. EU
>preorder an EA game
>EA does their usual thing
>WTF WHY IS THIS ALLOWED I NEVER ASKED FOR THIS REEE
Taking away the "return" button ON A WHIM is a pretty dishonest practice.
>you can't just go around doing chargebacks
You kind of can, actually. The bank doesn't give a shit. If you ask for a fraudulent chargeback the seller will come after you, not the bank.
This is why we gave you the golden poo, EA
You have plenty of legitimate grounds to cancel the sale in this case though, since the product is clearly not what was advertised, and developed countries have the right to refund as a basic consumer right, unless you live in some shithole like America.
Parents and a small handful of retards who can't control their spending on lootboxes.
Looks like they didn't give a fuck. And why would they?
>The absolute state of modern """"""gamers""""""
Jesus fucking christ you guys
Why did the new battlefront face such a huge backlash? I am intrigued.
Maybe in 'freedom land' you can't refund, but in civilised countries you can
>EA stock price in 2013
>$12 a share
>EA stock price now
>$112 a share
Great job
>pre ordering videogames
you dumb fucks deserve it every time
>live shat support
Actually you can legally refund anything online, retard. For ANY product online you have a 14 day limit and that's without company policies.
In particular EA/Origin's policy being:
"-Refund requests can be made within 24 hours after you first launch the game, within seven days from your date of purchase, or within seven days from the game's release date if you pre-ordered, whichever comes first. And if you purchase a new EA game within the first 30 days of its release date and can't play it due to technical reasons within EA's control, you can request a refund within 72 hours after you first launch the game instead of 24."
It's just the target for outrage this month. The general masses will forget about it soon enough.
Amerifat here. What're the usual refund policies elsewhere in the world?
Serves you right for buying let alone pre ordering EA trash, fuck you.
"No refunds" doesn't exist. There is always a period of time you can refund for any reason and must be accommodated. That period differs greatly from place to place.
Literally only in Fatistan and places like China does "FINAL SALE LOL" exist.
>give money to a well known scammer
>be surprised when he scams me out of my money
Fucking embarrassing.
In aus land we can refund goods without a receipt
We also have a body called the ACCC which is a consumer protection group sanctioned by government
gives us access to a lot of possibilities when wronged by companies and make setting up class action law suits easy
We got it pretty good
what if I just don't want shit on top of my cake ?
How can people still buy EA games after more and more instances of shit like that? I can't feel sympathy about anyone who fell for this shit AGAIN.
>Stupid enough to make a fucking preorder
>Can I sue EA for violating my rights?
I can't wait to see you in court in front of a big corporation with an army of lawyers. Just do it, please.
>Refund requests can be made within 24 hours after you first launch the game
>People play the game for a few hours
>Decide to return it because it's shit
>Spend an hour or two trying to figure out how since EA purposely obfuscated their usual method of online returns
>Decide to contact tech support
>Tech support gives you the run around for a few hours, maybe even tells you to call back later
>Finally get someone to process your refund
>Sorry, 24 hours have passed since you launched the game :^)
>Tfw haven't bought an EA game in over 10 years.
This. You're fucking retarded OP.
>Buying anything from EA
Not even once.
Are you telling me you can return underwear and shit? That sounds awfully unhygienic.
>go to restaurant
>order a filet minion and a bottle of their most expensive wine
>eat 90% of the steak and drink half of the bottle of wine
>ask to speak to the manager
>say the steak and wine were bad and that you're not paying for it
>get up and leave
This is why no one takes Europe seriously
Nigger needs to learn how to read.
>Refund requests can be made within 24 hours after you first launch the game
Requests. If you made the request 2 hours in, how long it takes after that doesn't matter.
are you implying someone's going to resell that underwear?
A privilege for consumers? Are you serious? It's a privilege for companies that they can sell preordered shit and make money before the actual product is out there. When they abuse that right they'll get banhammered by the mighty ''nope''-button.
If the refund has been there for a while for everyone and then they take that shit away you know they've fucked up. They could stop fucking themselves over by not removing the refund button, I'm pretty sure that shit stopped a whole lot of potential future people from pre-ordering from them. They're literally shooting themselves in the foot here by not giving people with money the benefit of the doubt. Either way, all of this doesn't matter as the option to refund should be there from the start. And as someone has already said: in countries that know wtf they're doing and ain't on some third world civil war crisis level they have shit like this in place by law.
that's how you think it works, huh
this is why no one takes you seriously
Because there's (hopefully) no market for used underwear, no it won't be resold.
However you can refund it.
I really shouldn't have to tell you that shitstained underwear and other destroyed items are exempt from those rules.
(You)
>filet minion
God, Americans are retarded.
remember to use chrome if you plan on using the live chat shit
68 school shooter credits
>preordering
I too, almost fell for this meme, until I played the beta and realized that the game was shit
>almost
oof
>pre ordering digital games with unlimited supply
for what purpose?
Privilege that EA states that you have, EA can't just decide that one of features they provide you is gone, there needs to be EULA update and some lag time.
Retards who preorder don't deserve refunds, there should be a law like this.
You are grossly overestimating the average consumer's resolve. The vast majority of people do not adhere to boycotts for very long.
Wrong, the seller will respond to the banks chargeback notice with a reason why the payment is legitimate. Then your bank will redebit the transaction until you can prove it is not.
>minion
>not realizing it would be shit after Battlefront 1(2015)
Also 90% of games EA has made in the past 15 years
>leddit
Serves you right.
>the devs are doing a Q&A session on Reddit tomorrow
Can't wait for that shitshow
>food analogies
stop embarrassing yourself burger, you don't know how things work to begin with
>How is this legal? Can I sue EA for violating my rights?
LOL good luck with that
>>Hello your honor, I'd like to sue because they won't refund my Star Wars ga...
>Oh, Star Wars, I took my great grandchild to see that the other day. It's a little silly but she seemed to like it. I think she's getting a little old for that kind of thing though. So you want your movie ticket refunded?
>>N-no, I want a refund for the video game I bought.
>What's the matter? The child you bought it for didn't like it?
>>It's f-for me.
>Bailiff, please arrest this man for contempt of court. I won't have you making a mockery of these hallowed grounds.
Pic related is EA.
God this is glorious.
That's not true. Banks will always side with the consumer unless concrete evidence is given for why it's fraudulent. In many US states it is illegal for an online retailer to not clearly state the refund policy. It would be completely justified to issue a chargeback for this and EA could do little to nothing about it.
Maybe in the US, other countries do have consumer rights
They're just going to dodge every question that wasn't posted by one of their shills.
>Your honour this toy for children contains led and is poisonous.
>Aaah kids, Yes I have them
What kind of universe do you fucking live in?
>I love not having consumer rights
That is the case if it is fraudulent. Not being able to refund a transaction isn't fraud, its grounds for a dispute. And if you think you can just call up your bank and claim its fraud you'll very quickly find yourself looking for a new bank account.
Eh, don't forget the average adult that's not too into video games, but still plays them. They don't know about the whole microtransactions thing and even they did, they probably don't care enough. They just want to buy their game, maybe throw a few extra bucks to get drops and play for a few hours every other day or something.
we have consumer rights in the US, it's just that people argue so vehemently for their right to be ripped off that it can seem otherwise
>In many US states it is illegal for an online retailer to not clearly state the refund policy.
When you took a bite out of your burger, you forgot to read this line.
>reddit
yeah you deserve all shit fucking faggot, fuck you.
Judging by the way he thinks court cases go, probably the Ace Attorney one.
I bought this game and will refund it tommorow just to inflate the number of cancelled pre-orders :^)
wtf? I love EA now
>pre-ordering games
Seriously, why? Why?
Your fault for ordering it.
This is strange to me, US probably has one of the best consumer services I know of, they love to cuddle you like you are a fucking child.
But actually going after your rights seems to be considered parasitic, what the fuck Yankees?
in clapistan maybe
>preordering a EA game
by EU law, you can.
>inb4 hurr EU
just mention that its EA i'm sure they've had to handle many such cases before
people argue for companies' right to rip people off because they think that someday they'll be the ones ripping people off
>Can't adjust music volume, can only turn music on/off
That's a strange way of thinking about it.
"When I grow up I want to fuck my consumers over for monetary gain"
>Graphics: On/Off
That's stated in every games eula and usually involves a vague line like 'contact us if you are in any way dissatisfied.' Which their we chat suffices for. A retailer does not need a REFUND HERE button to be able to provide one.
the Jews still have a stranglehold on people's minds with regards to the whole communism thing. they weren't able to completely block consumer rights, so they settled for the next best thing which is making it culturally taboo.
oy vey you cant say this
In my state it has to be accessible from the front page and not hidden within an EULA. Or at least that's what my bank got my money back for.
he probably bought it just to refund it, an attempt to "Stick it to the man" when in reality he's just giving minimum wage support staff a hard time
Returns are fixed at 10%
You must agree it's excellent~
That is not a statement about refund policy. refund policy states you need to do refund form for US purchases, that is the refund button that doesn't work.
>why can't I rip off the person I bought something from? isn't that what democracy is?
