While it's fun as hell, the game is unoptimized shit. It's impossible to run decently on most computers and it's rife with gameplay issues. Also hackers are still a big problem for some. The game should absolutely not be on the list and it's probably going to win because of it's vast playerbase that doesn't know what kind of polish went into the other titles.

It's actually been one of the best years in gaming, what has sucked is the Western industry. Trust me, if they could get away with JUST listing Western titles they would. The fact P5 is up there, to me, says they had already run dry of things to work with from the Western front. Andromeda was trash, anything by EA or Activision was trash, and they'd never put a fun indie game up there next to their AAA paid marketing vehicles.
