Don't buy SC1 remastered. Barely anybody plays it, and the people who do play it are 20 year veterans who will completely destroy you.

Feel free to try out SC2, though.

Co-op is pretty fun. Worth trying it out.

If you haven't already played Starcraft 1, you're probably too casual of a gamer to play it. It might be the most hardcore competitive game in the world. It will require an immense amount of time to get good at it.

Just get both it and SC1 for free.

WoL Campaign is great
Coop is pretty fun, if repetitive.

Multi is not as hard to get into as everyone says. Drilling your macro cycles + knowing one build will get you into at least Plat ASAP. Just realize that unless you're Masters or GM it's not really a strategy game, just an action game.

The campaign is kinda cool (including Heart of the Slut) and Kerrigan is a toptier waifu, but playing SC2 now is like reinstalling Monkey Island 3.

Did you at least reach the top zerg research and get the mind control thingie? You can just snag all the brood lords and make that a lot easier.

The other path with ground zerg is definitely easiest though. Tanks, tanks, tanks, more tanks. Even on brutal, just compress your tanks right around the artifact and the merc compound and keep heaping on more tanks, and spam the perdition turrets like crazy.

That's what the matchmaking system is for. You will be matched with people of your own skill level. You don't have to play grandmasters all the time

I opened Blizzard app and clicked download on Starcraft 2 and now the Starcraft 2 icon is gone, but it seems to be installing the game since there's a Startcraft 2 folder and new files are appearing in it.
Is this normal?

took me one season from never having played before to getting into diamond.

I should add that the ground version can be beaten on brutal with this strategy and not even bothering to kill the nydus worms. Just use the artifact when needed.

The "compress" defense also works for brutal on other maps like The Dig. Fuck trying to defend more than one choke. Just ball up your tanks in your core.

Probably normal. Installation takes forever, and it's not without hiccups. Check on it every once in a while to see if the app says it's installing. Don't panic.

That's the easier one. You can beat it literally by just massing marine medic.

SC2 complete is really good. Now that is F2P there's really no excuse to git gud.

Co-op is a lot of fun. There's the new Han/Horner commander out today. I'm giving it a week to settle down before playing co-op again. It's going to be a very busy and glitchy few days.

Co-op gets really repetitive pretty quickly I think. I don't think I could play it for long amounts of time.

There's an icon at the bottom left that lets you remove the text and only see icons. The color of the background comes from him having OW selected, which makes it orange/brown instead of the SC2's blue.

Well keep on going. Set up camp on the hill by the relic and make turrets and bunkers and maybe some vikings for broodlords later. As long as you have enough production to keep making units you should be good I think. The most important part of starcraft is macro; being able to keep ramping up your economy and the production structures to be able to use your income without stacking up too much bank. Upgrades are really important too, especially for terran where stimmed marines scale really hard from attack upgrades.


It's a really difficult mission compared to the rest of the campaign, I struggled a bit the first time I did it too.

I like how Blizz re-releases their 7 year old game, and it's fucking broken. Can barely get through a mission without a fucking crash.
You should play SC1 for free. Remastered graphics is trash, being able to see the actual pixels actually is better and helps you do more game-abusing tricks.
Memeing aside, I couldn't imagine anyone that's grown up playing newer games would actually enjoy SC1. So many people bitch about the limitations like only being able to select 12 units. Fuck, some old veteran friends of mine won't go back to it because of that.
Idk, I heard from friends there's no good SC Diplo maps though, which is the main reason why I've never bothered to spend money on SC2.
