XC2 is looking to follow XC way closer then XCX did, so if you enjoyed XC it shouldn't be a problem. I like both but XC and XCX have totally different themes, priorities, and goals as a player. Hopefully XCX2: Diferent Planet 2 will finally merge the tight character focused storyline of XC with the amazing exploration of XCX fifty years from now when its released.

Where do I even start grinding the materials for the level 60 mechs and beyond? I have maybe 1 or 2 of the 8 materials needed for any one of them and I'm at max level and cleared the story already.

Reward tickets don't last forever though. To get 4 mechs for my main squad isn't cheap, gotta kill things for their parts eventually.

No really. To me, the game was at its best around the end. Not the end game, the end of the line.
Beating the some of the top tyrants felt amazing.

The issue is knowing when to stop, because when you defeat all the top 10 or so tyrants you might be temted to undertake a greater task, but at that point it would probably be something exponentialy more tedious and grindy than fine-tuning an Ares or achieving infinite overdrive on foot.

I'm talking about something absolutely insane like making a lvl60 Skell stronger than an Ares or doing a meme spike build.
You're probably gonna burn out horribly if you do that, but if that doesn't happen to you I guess you might as well imediately go ahead and start a new game fresh.

You only need an Ares 90 for yourself. combine that with the skell augments you get for free and you can kill all but the strongest tyrants in the game quite easily.

Many of the voices grew on me, but hers never did.
People will give me shit for saying this, but I really thing she could have used a slightly more feminine, kawaii-esque voice. I think it would have suited the character i had interpreted better.

Squad missions weren't fast, but they were a slow and steady, automatic steam of tickes.

I couldn't even bear to grind for skill points. I can't imagine having to grind those missions for tickets.

They still exist, though it must be extremely tough to get a full party of human players to tackle them by now, so Elma and Lyn all the way. The rest of the game is in-tact, only the player messages are gone, which is for the better really, they were practically all shit.

I genuinely fucking love the shit out of this game goddamn. I really hope Xeno 2 turns out good because its probably going to be the reason i buy a switch.

Again, if you have an ares 90 they go rather quick becuase you can kill everything with one agni gatling. They're a great way to get tickets when there are no nemesises to farm.

This is how i felt about it and still came out at 280 hours really satisfied. Really looking forward to XC2.

didn't really participate in the multiplayer aspect, but it seemed to me the community was tight and friendly. Well, at least to the extent the limited interaction made possible.

Also, There's probably not much to be gained with tackling missions with other people. At least in my experience the time it takes to set up and the constant possibility of disconections made it easier to just do them solo.

This might be the mokeyest of pawns, but i think this game could have been amazing as a full blown MMO.

Tatsu gets a really bad rap when he was one of the more useful characters in the game. I really hate how he is mocked for wanting to be a pacifist but everyone defends Rock when he says the same thing.

Fuck you that ending was horrible stupid crap and the whole game couldn't decide if death was permanent or not. Finish playing the game you're defending. It COMPLETELY falls apart at the end.

The difference is that Rock helps build the city with his own two arms.

And Tatsu helps building relationships of diplomacy and commerce with the Nopon race.

Even more useful if you think about it.

I just started this the other day. I'm about six hours in, just finished what I assume was the initial tutorial where you have to meet your first survey quota for a story mission.
I am now realizing how unrealistic it was to think I could get any meaningful amount of content done before XC2 comes out. I should have just picked up my play through of XC and finished that. I have no fucking clue what I'm doing in this game, but I'm still somehow loving it.

I did. She's a decent support party member but not spectacular.

The gamepad was actually put to good, effective use in X, a port would have to compensate for not having it.

The switch has a touch screen. I don't see how that wouldn't work.

I actually liked everything about xcx more than the first xenoblade. Something about the environment sucked me in and it's probably the best game I've played in years.

Also think it has the best soundtrack ever...well, aside from the nla songs

It only has a touch screen when its not docked on the TV. You had a world map, mining node grid, and game completion all charted simultaneously on the gamepad, and made interacting with all of them extremely quick and easy, plus a few other features like quick travel and emote access. Doing all that stuff through a menu would be much slower and more cumbersome.

The soundtrack is terrible, standard shonen garbage that doesn't fit in a huge RPG. I guarantee that removing the lyrics from 90% of the themes that have them would change absolutely nothing.

It would take 3 seconds to just open up the menu and select what you want. There really isn't problem. Plus some of that stuff could be in the UI.

It's not that other builds can't kill tyrants, it's that the longsword build is the perfect shitstorm of overpowered.

Longsword is the best offensive weapon type because it gives access to Offensive Stance's ridiculous 300% multiplicative modifier in a game where most everything else is an additive modifier
Ether is the best damage type because of Core Crusher's Interaction with Apendage Crusher augs
Blossom Dance is the best single ground offensive art because it ignores resist.
