The deep night arrives
Under Night Thread
Tuesday night so we'll be up for a while.
Room: vidya
Pass: vee
Will probably post some Chronicle Mode bits as we go along.
is it possible to practice a combo so much you lose the ability to do it due to finger cramps? I felt like this today.
Late, but
One of my friends loves it and introduced me to it, so I play it a little, though not well. Oddly enough, the same guy introduced me to Under Night in Birth. I know some basic Kanae and Akatsuki stuff. Recently, I played it with my mother.[/spoiler
I finally finished my pros and cons image. I cut some shit and added some other things. I hope this will finally make you happy Hippie
I used to play Melee and yes, this is very real.
en.wikipedia.org
Where are the cons?
If you practice too much, yeah. I've heard exaggerated stories about tight execution characters in other games causing some cramps but overdoing even here will probably cause something.
Hell, cold weather usually freezes up my hands, making my sweaty hand problems even worse.
kind of hard to read.
The what?
Look harder
I don't see any actual gameplay tips so not really.
Friendly reminder that Yuzu is not important.
kick icy
I had written those but I thought they kinda ruined it so I removed them from the image.
whole lotta hate today, damn.
No point in using it then
be nice
Please no. I have nothing else to look forward to on my days off
>not fapping to Yuzu on free days
I can do that later
Might as well bullet-point my bullet-points on what I learned through a thorough look at the story mode again.
Orie's story mode just established basic facts on Licht Kreis and just ordinary life things involving Orie and co. Kaguya apparently is already present in the city so I just hope she gets revealed soon. Mika's absence was mostly her own fault for not properly passing through her aptitude examinations. Lex describes the situation in city as an in-brith "baby boom" with how many things are going on.
I didn't know walkup played Enki. When is he going to play Yuzu and show me things?
Walkup so far has played Hyde, Linne, Orie, Enkidu, Akatsuki, Phonon, Gordeau, and a little bit of Wagner and Merkava.
Should be mentioned that Orie was advised not to get involved with Amnesia as that role falls onto Wagner in her own Arcade Mode. Orie's first and foremost assignment is to be regular peace-keeping while she puts hunting Merkava on the side. Her conversation with Wagner also pulls some Raiden-Sam sort of shit with Orie believing she fights for peacekeeping and protection while Wagner thinks the complete opposite.
I've definetly seen him play waldstein, and probably more characters. The only characters I don't think I've seen him play is Yuzu, vatista, and hilda.
Just guard thurst
How do I do that?
IIRC it's 214D while you're blocking
While in blockstun, input 214D. It's the equivalent of Street Fighter Alpha's Alpha Counter.
Oh cool. I didn't know she had that.
Rather than it being like a B+C force function, it's a universal action that every character can perform.
Literally everyone has it. It's a universal function.
Ahh that's pretty cool.
How long is the story mode?
Man I'm playing pretty poorly tonight. Not playing for a few days was a bad idea.
however long it takes you to read. its just cutscenes.
This is the main reason I practice basic routines for at least 10 minutes before these things begin.
Ah. I was under the impression it was more like a branching story rather than a kinetic VN.
Mika's story on the other hand remained mostly the same. Only that the trials she faced was actually in response to her abrupt departure from Licht Kreis HQ. Mika is the only one of Orie's team that remained at HQ instead of being sent anywhere and instead of staying and finishing her examinations, she runs off. So the first ranked Executor decides to do an impromptu test for her enroute to Japan. So Mika boarding a plane, falling out of it, surviving on a deserted island, making a raft, and being picked up by a boat wasn't entirely her fault. An user asked during release week why Mika just didn't fly with her gauntlets and I missed the little bit where she actually does to finish the last leg of her journey.
Me speeding through it to mostly finish it quick and understand what I could took me 10-11 hours. I'd imagine it'd take a lot longer if I actually wanted to get the most info as possible, which I've started doing last weekend.
I did though. I went from 1-1 to 4-6 in like 20 min before joining. Guess it wasn't good enough for a warm up.
>Ah. I was under the impression it was more like a branching story rather than a kinetic VN.
Every character gets 3 or 4 chapters in their Chronicle Mode scenarios. Going through it the first time makes you unlock certain stories after finishing particular characters' scenarios
of course I fuck up my first two throws and get the third one that wouldn't have worked. OF COURSE.
>Linne can cancel her dodge into a sideroll
I learn something new every time I watch walkup play.
You'll get it next time.
Personally, I'll look over trials sometimes, but I just practice the stuff I actually use in a match over and over until it's burned into my brain's info cache. Still, nerves get everyone, I guess. I feel like my performance varies wildly from night to night to the point of it maybe being luck with what I manage to do.
I try my hardest to practice my combos and even just simple inputs but It never sticks. I still fuck up my teleports after all this time
What input device do you use? And if it's a gamepad, do you use the D-Pad or the analog stick?
Yuzu's segment of the story had a really relaxing atmosphere when it started out since it was Yuzu talking to her sister and how the latter was going to enjoy the evening watching dramas on TV with their mother while Yuzu went out into the night since she had a bad feeling. Apparently the sword she regularly uses can't be taken out in normal circumstances so she just sneaks a katana around for her own safety. Yuzu complains how her sister literally gave up on her duties on her first night on the job when she came home early to say she wanted to quit. In her case, she had no powers to start with so the family tradition passed down to Yuzu instead. In some form of late apology, Hiroha gives Yuzu the cellphone she bought and Yuzu heads out to do a little patrolling.
Yuzu's sister mentions how she's absolutely certain that Yuzuriha will make it back home safe while Yuzu, in an uncharacteristically lower tone, mutters how she thought the exact same thing once.
Hitbox. My ring finger is super weak so I fuck up the input, no different from using a stick though where I would still mess up the input constantly.
> the arm crawled all that distance and still combo'd
I also use a hitbox and my ring finger eventually became stronger after maybe a year of use, but I think some people speed up the process with weights or something. The trick I used to rely on (and still often use) for reverse DPs and things like that is doing 2 QCBs in a row quickly and it still registers as a reverse DP. Can't really give much advice on that front beyond grinding out the feel for the use of it.
This is my first time playing this game online. How do I search for this room?
Cool, thanks for the advice but I doubt I'll get any better at it. Even hippie says I can't improve past the point I'm at.
Go to network mode, then after getting to room search, type in vee as the password.
Use the menu translations
docs.google.com
Our keyword is vee
Don't listen to him. You can always get better.
I don't know, he's probably right. I still mess up my simple bnb after like 5 months of play. Thanks for the words of encouragement though.
Neat.
You may never be the best in the world, but you can at least seek personal improvement. I used to not even be able to complete basic combos with Akatsuki or even beat random guys that had never played this game. I can at least remember 2A > 5B > 5C > 6C > 2C > 6C > 214B now and get a win here and there.
Yuzu regrets not eating a snack before heading out since she's watching a bunch of families eating in a restaurant as she walks down the street and she hopes that her bad feeling was just something else so she can actually get home around dinner-time.Some train of thought leads to Yuzu to remember Hyde and she wonders how he's been doing. She remembers how he used to always follow her around but he abruptly decided to distance himself from her one day. She thinks it was cute of him to phrase it the way he did but she hoped that he moved on from that little incident and is doing well for himself. She however mentions how it was a typical "boyish" thing to do to after what happened.
Surprisingly however, Yuzu doesn't seem to want to remember what happened between them either and actively tries to forget as she tries to cut off that train of thought. She thinks that the incident will give him fortune in future interaction with girls but if he ever gets too caught up with womanizing, she'll come back to beat his ass.
That DP is a 22 command? Is it invincible?
you better fucking believe it.
22B and 22C are.
>Someone else that plays Seth
Sweet
You were guessing right on the throws on wakeup, but I was accidentally doing the blazblue command for it and I got throw countered because of it
youtube.com
Here's a link to a video that explains the basics on how to learn long combos. It's an MVCI video but the info applies to all fighting games.
I'm so glad I dropped blazblue and that stopped happening to me.
Any updates? I haven't seen this thread in a while.
You just haven't been around. We haven't missed a beat.
But no, still no news. Aksys is too busy shilling Tokyo Xanadu and some highschool girl zombie shooter that looks like some cross between oneechanbara with guns some DoA3
Pablo has a pretty good seth. He wasn't falling for my Yuzu gimicks. I'm already afraid of him.
Jan 25th
This isn't confirmed at all though.
Why the fuck do you keep posting it
Why would play asia lie to me?
Why would you believe in any release date that isn't confirmed by the publisher.
GAH
FIRST TIME BREAK A THROW AND I FORGOT YOU'RE PLUS AFTER
> first time playing online
I don't believe that shit for 2 seconds
It's entirely possible he's exclusively played offline with friends.
Placeholder. Amazon does it too with all games releasing Dec 31st of [Current Year] unless it doesn't and they shift it to the next year..
Yuzu has shift sway? What's the command for it?
Down down in stance. I'll add that to my pros and cons guide.
I don't believe you can tech throws online without practicing online. 5 frame delay and he's teching throws? nah.
I'm not gonna get to fight Icy, am I?
Yuzuriha runs into the trio that would eventually form Bankikai, the little group that Byakuya's "sister" Tsukuyomi was a part of and what's put her on her mysterious little journey with him. The "leader" is some dude named Ogre who has very recently obtained his abilities and Yuzu runs into these guys after what seems like a brawl and lectures them to do that sort of shit on an unsanctioned night. Ogre asks more questions and Yuzu finds it that it would ultimately save her a lot of time if she just explained everything to him and hopefully her lesson will spread by word of mouth among the up and coming inbirths.
To put it simply, she summarizes the Hollow Night, how it's mostly perceived as some convergence between the regular world and some other outside realm and the Hollow Night is what occurs when they overlap, but only our side, there's no telling what the convergence does to the other end that we're not aware of. EXS is the force of all that live and Voids seek to consume it. Yuzu has no clue what the actual reasons for what exactly produces an in-birth but the most commonly explained reason is that the intermingling between a void's energy when they try to eat you and a persons' own latent EXS merge to create something completely new in the case you don't die. This results in an in-birth. More in-births cause more fluctuations of EXS, more EXS means the "night" grows darker, and stronger "nights" mean more Voids. Yuzu ends her lecture there and tells Ogre not to get to full of himself with his little group since she'll kick his ass if she ever hears any rumors on him.
Skip your turn to try and fight him then
That's exactly what it is. Me and a friend spent hours sparring in training mode with regen health. I never like to play online unless my friend makes a room, but he doesn't have the game yet.
>Me and a friend spent hours sparring in training mode with regen health
Huh
Wonder why I never thought of this, both in this game and any other fighting game
Really good way to lose 5 hours of your day
That happens anyway in me and my friends' VS Modes. FT10 hardly ever stops at just 10
I've tried that and I hate it. There's no stakes, and you can't practice chip setups in games that allow for it. Also can't practice timer scamming.
It certainly isn't the best but I can see some reasons to try that out if we just wanted to try new characters and mess around with lesser stakes.
But it's a lot of fun when just trying to learn characters or a new game.
Those look like comfy headphones, I wonder what type they are.
I need stakes or else my shit talking is meaningless.
I bet Hyde can play his own theme on the guitar
Oh boy, more Adler vs. Akatsuki
do you even play abk
I never played blitzkampf, but I really like that color.
There is something oddly cute about this drawing.
I fucked around with Sai way back when.
post a sai combo
I answered this earlier in the thread.
post an akatsuki combo
