Oblivion.
It's also better than Morrowind, for the record

out of the two? oblivion

Oblivion was the best elder scrolls game for its time. This is not up for debate.

I remember being unironically really excited for skyrim, only to end up playing it on and off for a week and never again. The disappointment I felt for this game was unprecedented.

I can't even put into words why it was so bad, I just didn't feel it. I can say though that the dark brotherhood questline was a giant stinking piece of shit.

both are shit, but Skyrim is at least comfy

Oblivion is the worst thing that happened since the holocaust

Skyrim

Oblivion with mods > Skyrim with mods
vanilla Skyrim > vanilla Oblivion

>comfy

Nice shitpion.

Vermintide

>People who enjoyed skyrim are the same type of people that though the holocaust was bad

Pottery

Oblivion has
>color
>better music
>better climate
>classes, birthsigns
>better guilds, better quests
>NPCs who live lives rather than just repeat the same dialogue to each other over and over
>cities you can enter without being forced into ten different quests
>a small but lovable cast of voice actors
>unique faces that make you laugh
>funny glitches like getting corpses stuck in doors

skyrim

better controller support

skyirm

oblivion has shit gameplay.

Oblivion thanks to every quest having multiple endings

This

so does skyrim

fpbp
Morrowind was good but Oblivion had real character and charm that no game since has had

are you me?

off yourselves

>Fight a dragon in Skyrim
>Proceed to whack it in its back leg
>Immediately appear in its mouth, as it somehow got a killing blow on me when I was at approximately half health
Oblivion is better than Skyrim.
Morrowind is on par with Oblivion.
Modded Morrowind with a guide is leagues above the others.

...

So Oblivion doesn't exist?

Morrowind > skyrim > oblivion

It's too bad no one ever developed a Morrowind mod that actually made combat fun.

...

how fucking pretentious does one have to be to be disappointed by Skyrim

The combat is fine, once you understand it.

Oblivion no question

For me it was the fact that all the things I hoped they would fix from Oblivion were still there and possibly worse.
>Tiny cities with like six buildings
>About 10 voice actors to voice a few hundred characters
>Still gamebryo shite

Add to that bland environments with much less diversity than Oblivion and boring repetitive dungeons which are just draugr draugr draugr and you have a pretty average game

This is actually pretty accurate.

>fine
note you didn't say fun, because it's not fun.
Which has nothing to do with understanding the simple combat system (I played the game at release, I'm not a retard who gets mad at missing due to low stamina).

kotaku.com/5981583/lets-rank-the-elder-scrolls-games-best-to-worst

My biggest disappointment with Skyrim can be summed up by Miscellaneous Quests. The fact that they created a subcategory for "chore quests" that didn't require any writing really irked me. It's like they didn't even try to hide that a lot of the quests in the game were just rehashes of the same one.

Everyone and their mother understands how combat works. That doesn't make it any less dogshit.

>"meh" music

You are actually homosexual

>Daggerfall
6/10
>Morrowind
7/10
>Oblivion
4/10
>Skyrim
5/10

Skyrim.

Vanilla Skyrim was rushed and has a lot of flaws, but vanilla Oblivion was a fucking abortion. And every time people talk about the "oh man such amazing quests!" in Oblivion it's the same 4 or 5 every single time. Oblivionbabbies are the biggest nostalgiafags in the fanbase.

Morrowind > Skyrim > Oblivion

What are some good mods?

...

oblivion, though its not my favorite elder scrolls its the first one I played.

Oh yeah, forgot one.
>Gothic
10/10

You call Oblivion fans nostalgia tags, but call Morrowind the best despite the fact that it aged like milk

oblivion better main quest then skyirm. Wow. They are both shit but holy fuck was oblivion bad.

Oblivion

fuck you i liked it

>Daggerfall 6/10

>Oblivion
an actual RPG with living, breathing cities and acceptable depth in character creation
>Skyrim
wasteland filled to the brim with bandits, lifeless and dead cities, be-anything-do-anything m1 mashing make everything the same and remove so many features it's not even an RPG anymore

>Gothic
4/10
>Gothic 2
2/10

if having more than 3 or 4 braincells makes somebody "pretentious" then put me on the list

Morrowind will always be my favorite but if you've been spoiled by 4 and 5 then chances are you won't like it. I love the whole barebones, real rpg thing with no floating markers or anything. My only real complain is the miss system, I don't entirely hate it but at low levels you're swinging at a rat 5cm in front of you and still miss 20 times. My main thing with Morrowind is how it's actual world exploration and not just 99% dungeon crawling/"i lost my beloved pinecone in x cave/dungeon, go get it for me". ngl I honestly somehow enjoyed ESO more than Oblivion or Skyrim.

Morrowind fags on suicide watch!

There are anons who didn't enjoy both.
Sucks to be you.
Skyrim was better btw.

INB4
Ablooo poopy taste.

>"i lost my beloved pinecone in x cave/dungeon, go get it for me".
this describes nearly every side quest in morrowind. Morrowind's side quests were complete dogshit, only the main quest was any good.

I really feel like every TES has the exact same flaws (dogshit combat, world full of dungeons that all look exactly the same), people just nostalgiafag over the one they played first as being perfect

I cannot understand people who think that Oblivion was better, or even on par with Morrowind.

correct answer

I miss Hand to Hand and Acrobatics

One of Morrowind's biggest flaws is it wants to be both a traditional RPG and an action RPG at the same time.

Vanilla? Skyrim. It is much more stable, it looks better, and the combat is slightly more tolerable.

I love Oblivion but it is pretty bad in many ways.

Modded is still Skyrim.

because we could care less about wandering around an alien world and feel more pleasure out of interacting with a world where it feels like your actions have weight and characters react to you

/thread

Morrowind has the best setting and most interesting cultural aspects of any Bethesda game though.

I miss Polearms, Medium Armor and throwing weapons

>Everyone and their mother understands how combat works
According to that webm you posted your entire family has mental retardation. You should probably kill yourself to stop the spread of retard genes.

>it's not fun
Just like the entirety of skyrim.

>I love Oblivion but it is pretty bad in many ways.
of which every single flaw can be modded out

if you mod skyrim 90% of its flaws still exist (shit cities, boring as fuck quests, 0/10 guilds)

...

Recently I've been playing loads of Skyrim with around 50 mods and have had a decent time, though I get consistent crashing that makes it nigh unplayable at times, depending on my patience, though if I have a very lazy day I can find myself losing hours in it.

My fondness for Oblivion has faded greatly and everytime I revisit it, it is extremely hard to stick with it, despite being my GOAT as a teen.

I want to go into it extremely modded but I don't know, I can never seem to find the right mods.

>Modded is still Skyrim.
Only for porn

Oblivion has way more diverse environments and empty space to put new content into, the script extender is also far more extensible than Skyrim and allows for complete gameplay overhauls

Yeah a world where the imperial city that's hyped up as one of the main points of the game has all of... 20 npcs, and it's laid out like a fucking maze to give the illusion of being bigger than it actually is.

Daggerfall > Oblivion > ESO

The rest don't even matter. No mouse-look in Arena. Morrowind is a dice rolling simulator in a world the size of a shoe box. Skyrim barely qualifies as an RPG.

>inb4 t. mannimarco

The MQ in Morrowind was top tier.

The pacing was spot on. There was no "OMG THE WORLD IS GONNA END AT ANY MOMENT" but would you mind picking me some flowers before it does?

They way it introduced factions and their motivations was near perfect.

Sadly the faction and side quests did not receive the same attention and ended up MMO tier.

Oblivion has better quest and it's much more comfy.
So I'd say Oblivion is my favorite of the 2.
But Skyrim is more replayable and has better mods, so if we are counting mods than I'm not sure which I prefer.

Are you buying this on the switch? I would have bought oblivion if it was ported t b h

>Morrowind lore retconns Daggerfall lore
>Isn't the lore EPIK

>Oblivion lore retconns Morrowind lore
>No BROS, NO! THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING

Oblivion. The bright colors, the music, the setting, I really enjoyed it. Skyrim is so drab, it's just brown and white.

Is ESO really worth picking up? I've been wanting to play it more and more but I just wish it would go on fucking sale again.

I always reinstall oblivion and spend most of a day modding it with FCOM, better cities and unique landscapes.
Then I play about ten minutes and it crashes and I never play it again

>0 fatigue
yeah, sure

Saved

Skyrim is more solid as a vanilla title. Oblivion questing is superior, both with the quest lines and randomly found side shit. I prefer Skyrim just because I have to mod Oblivion more to make it playable, I feel like the leveling system breaks vanilla by making character development largely irrelevant.

I can't tell that you started with Oblivion underage faggot.

its really stupid and it pisses me off that im like this but oblivions graphics really kill the game for me.
are there any mods that make the game look less fucking boring?

>Oblivion has way more diverse environments
user, you can't possibly be this blinded by nostalgia.
Most of Oblivion's landscapes were just generic looking, randomly-generated European forests and rolling hills.

Yes. Check cdkeys.com.

Not deluded by Nostalgia like Morrowindnumales. Morrowind is one of the most overrated games of all time.

I feel this gets overlooked a lot, but the big as FUCK trees in Oblivion really made the comfiness levels soar. Skyrim can't hold a candle to it because of it.

Oblivion's voice acting makes the game for me

That shit cracks up.

WHY WON'T YOU

DIIIIIIIIE

fpbp

...

>Everyone and their mother understands how combat works
>post webm proving you don't

>bland environments

Nigga what? Oblivion is just one giant forest with a snowy area and aeylid ruins scattered around

Same, I really disliked Skyrim's depressed Scandinavian man voicing every male in the game.

You're pretty much right actually, but the fact that places like Bruma exist give the world some diversity

It's more like Skyrim's complete lack of diversity and being a snowy ice world just kills its modding potential. You can't place entire new game worlds like a hot Elsweyr desert nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/27302/? right next to the Skyrim map and have it feel natural. Skyrim's Elsweyr mod just teleports you somewhere else

fpbp

The guy who voices the stormcloak soldier in the wagon with you voices like 70% of the nords.

>You can't place a hot, sandy desert next to a polar region province
No way.

>Golden fields around Anvil have a more summery vibe
>Swampy feel to the lands in and around Bravil
>Mountains around Bruma actually feel pretty mountainous
>Comfy woods overlooking and surrounding imperial isle

Skyrim is literally all just bland woods with a mountain in the middle, that's all there is to it.

I don't get the Oblivion music meme. I can't remember one track from that shit and i remember tracks from Morrowind and Skyrim clearly. I can't even remember how it's theme went and they all recycle the same theme in a remixed version.

I'm glad we agree that Skyrim doesn't lend itself as well to modding as Oblivion

pleb
youtube.com/watch?v=LY41Q1FYokQ

Fuck me, how did Todd mess Skyrim up so badly?

I agree actually.

There's also a swampy area in Skyrim fungus. In fact literally all the environments you just listed are in Skyrim kek. All I remember from oblivion is green nothingness
