Games you loved that the industry left behind

Games you loved that the industry left behind.

As much as I liked it, MW1 destroyed it just a year later

...

It was great graphically but a bit too clunky to play. Tried it out on PCSX2 the other day.

What really hurt me though is how DICE refuses to recognize this gem their made for the PS2.

...

I just didn't get a sense of closure from the end of the story.
Couldn't tell you why. Maybe I just wanted more.

It was pretty boring except the first hour.

I've never played this. Should I buy it?

it was ahead of its time

holy shit what BF game is that, I absolutely loved that as a kid. rolling thunder was such a great mission

The closest we ever got to having BF2 on consoles

>play black
>try to jump on something
>can't
>try to go slightly outside where the level wants me to
>can't

it was garbage that helped usher in the area of "cinematic" fps with fake levels.

I must be getting old, I remember the graphics on this blowing me away when I first got it, my dad used to say the same thing about super mario 64

Breakdown from Namco

>EA
found your reason

Not the same EA, user. Not the best EA we've ever seen, but also not the EA we know now.

EA was good back then.

>try to jump on something
Yeeeah, you couldn't jump in Black. Jumping literally wasn't in the game.
What do you get out of lying anonymously on the internet? Weird times, man.

The only good thing about Black were the graphics. For a game that's all about how amazing guns were most felt like total shit because the enemies took way too many hits to kill.

>he didnt nailed most enemies with one headshot
Thats like the only reason to find the silencers

Silencers weren't really on my mind when I rented a game where one of the biggest selling points were the crazy huge explosions.

No, Black was incredibly boring. Only thing it had was slightly more detailed guns and environmental damage than other FPSs of its day. In every other way, it was as generic as generic gets.

Any modern Cowadooty is unironically better now.

Godly.

>Jumping literally wasn't in the game.

So his story checks out.

Modern Combat. It pioneered map destruction in the series too.

This and TTT was the shit.

>reading comprehension

>the industry left behind
>became backwards compatible on xbone a few weeks ago

2 didn't feel like much of a sequel, and the remake was one of the shittiest things i've ever had the mercy of playing.

It will never get a sequel.
