>Sell 1 million copies on PS4
>less than 100k on PC
Then people don't know why PC gamers are treated like garbage
Sell 1 million copies on PS4
Yeah, it sold about a tenth of the PS4's copies in the same time frame, but 100,000 in two weeks isn't bad when you consider
>the port was obviously a half-assed cash-grab
>KT's history with ports
>most of the people excited for the game would've just bought it when it was fairly new anyway
>the port was obviously a half-assed cash-grab
no
It's almost like people don't want to buy shitty ports of 8 month old games that are kind of mediocre to begin with at full price. If it were released simultaneously as a good quality port you'd probably not see as many pirates or at least not as many people insisting on pirating.
It's not like there's actually anything wrong with piracy to begin with, it's up to the person selling the product to convince the person that the product is worth supporting and it's not even a case of "Support this so we get more better ports" because KT ports are fairly consistently garbage quality as far as I'm aware.
Good pasta
straight off the boat from neogaf i see
>$50 for a year old bad port
You can find the game for $20 every where and I'm sure it'll go lower this black friday. People want a better game when they get stuff ported to pc, not sloppy seconds.
>a weeb game sells better on a weebstation
NO SHIT!
pot, meet kettle
Well consolefags are extremely thirsty for games, there aren't all that many on their plattform so they gobble up even mediocre as fuck games like this.
Meanwhile I have so many games to pick from I might consider playing this in a year or two.
>Well consolefags are extremely thirsty for games
that's why they have to play Overwatch, PUGB and other chinese trash
I've never posted there though. Clearly you have.
>100GB
Most people who wanted to play it already played it on PS4.
>Exclusive sells a lot on the console it's exclusive for
HOLY SHIT, user. I THINK YOU'RE ONTO SOMETHING HERE.
b-but muh 1080ti 4k60fps
>weeb souls clone
>released almost a year late
>shit port
>no mouse support kek
>asscheeks performance
>massive download size for no reason, DS3 looks better in every way and is much smaller even with all DLCs
>49,99 €
And it still sold really well for what it is, and I didnt even mention any flaws of the gameplay itself.
it's a Tecmo Koei port, so almost all sane people stayed away from it, avoidin wasting money on a broken port
>no keyboard and mouse support
>for a game on pc
>good port
The original dark souls had a better port and that was locked at 30 fps and looked like the inside of my asshole
I like it so far. Performance isn't bad for me and I have a controller exactly for playing games like this, two of the biggest problems about it thankfully don't affect me.
>Nioh with keyboard
stop
>buying trash to stop getting treated like trash
Nah I'll spend my money on half decent games thanks.
>I can get this game for 20 dollars on ps4 right now.
>Or I can spend 50 dollars to get it on pc
What did they expect?
>Thinking a game can be released on PC without supporting KBM
pls go
Its not that Someone would actually use a keyboard but the overall principle.
Imagine if a fucking game on console didnt support controllers, no one would buy that shit, even if it was something like The Sims or Starcraft where its best played with keyboard.
The fact they were too lazy to add support for keyboard shows how much they cared
lack of keyboard is more related to the use of tools cheaters use in online PvP
i already got roped into buying it for the ps4
i won't really think about buying the pc version until it's either on sale or the ps4 is ded
there are games i'll waste a lot of money buying multiple times, but this isn't one of them
Came out after a year with an half assed port, what did they expect?
Additionally, PC is absolutely full of titles to be played, and PC gamers are much more exigent. As a consequence you can't expect to sell as much, unless you are making a really good game and a decent port.
$37 on PC and the PC version has all the DLC
what else were PS4 players going to play?
Like PUBG, assfaggot MOBA's, counter strike, and random MMO's? Woah, you got me shaking in my boots here user.
>half assed port with bad performance and no mouse controls
Gee I dunno asshole, why would I buy it.
Releasing a game that doesn't support kb+m at all on PC is like releasing a game on console without gamepad support. The latter doesn't happen but the former happens frequently.
>Saying they didn't include KBM support in a PC game because of hackers
Literally the most retarded thing I have heard here
How the FUCK are you supposed to do this?? Tried it 3 times so far and right now my record is one single hit on them.
it'd be like releasing a PC game on console without KBM support.
dingus.
KB+M is the main input system on PC. Gamepad is the main input method on console. So no, the analogy would be a port from PC not supporting the main input method, which for consoles is a gamepad. And this never happens.
>have a year-old title whose sales have trailed off to literally nothing and most new players opting to acquire it on the used market
>invest a couple grand
>0 new marketing costs
>create a sales-surge that hits up to a tenth of original sales figures, at full price, and without any associated printing, shipping, or shelving costs
>now exists on a platform where you no longer have to even bother creating an HD edition: every year from now until eternity it will grant you another small bump in revenue at every shopping-holiday again with 0 associated costs
>the more games you have on that platform, the bigger your cumulative shopping-holiday revenue bump
this is why, no matter how many times you try and post "WOW LOOK AT THESE SHIT NUMBERS," Publishers will continue to port more and more titles to PC, why it's continuing to increase in pace, and why it will never stop no matter how much it confuses the shit out of you while you try to wave NPD charts around like they matter.
Gamepad is the main action game input on PC, though.
That’s not a correct comarison because it is a console game released on PC with only a console native control scheme.
Is there something wrong with her
No it isn't. PC games use kb+m just like console games use a gamepad. Porting from PC to console and not supporting a gamepad isn't acceptable but somehow porting a console game to PC and not supporting kb+m is.
Xcom 2 is the opposite situation of it selling 1 million on PC then around 100k between consoles. Think it's a bit better now but still.
Porting KBM only games to console doesn't happen.
Kill the fast one that charges at you first by luring him behind the rock on the left. Obviously, you should be able to deal a lot of damage in a short time or you won't be able to outdamage the other guy since he can heal himself.
PC doesn´t need another half assed souls clone.
literally xcom
once they ported it, they let PC use gamepad because why the fuck not
but it was very much a kb+m only game
It's true. PC gaming is actually in a state of zombie like death. It's alive only held up by what are I call "cross platform interlopers". PC hardcore gamers of old would look at modern PC gamers like console gamers. Alot even play games with controllers.
Essentially what's going to happen, is once a console comes out at a good price that can reliably do 60+fps and 4k+, this will be sating the needs of 90% of game playing users.
There will be a mass exodus of PC gamers back to a console like ecosystem, and Valve has always known that, hence they've been trying to make that segway themselves.
What's going to happen is PC market will combine with the tablet market until eventually the idea of having a big desktop when quantm computing type precursor stuff is around will be ultimately useless. Dev's will work and make games from tablets, servers will be arrays and racks of processor nodes instead of big boxes.
PC gaming as it stands died around 2009. It's only held up in a kind of rigor mortis state where it has the illusion of life when it's actually just lots of console gamers playing console games on a console (PC)
>pay a code monkey $200 to bang together a port in a day
>receive $5,000,000ish in return
I think they feel ok about it
You're wrong about that
This is bait.
Dark Souls takes up 4GB on my HDD
Dark Souls 2 takes up 14GB on my HDD
Dark Souls 3 takes up 18 or so GB on my HDD
Bloodborne takes up 25GB on my PS4 HDD
Nioh takes up 100GB on my HDD
How is this allowed
Most games on PC for a while have supported gamepads, that's true, but there's still games like X-COM 2 that didn't support gamepad on release that managed to fit making those into development for the console release. And there's plenty of games in the past that only supported kb+m on PC that had gamepad support on console. There's no reason to not support kb+m on PC and trying to rationalize this gap in requirements makes you look retarded.
X-COM 2 didn't support gamepad on PC until the console release. They managed to get that working before the console release because they're not lazy jap shitbags that think not supporting the main input method on the platform they're porting to is an okay thing to do.
she's a musical theatre actor, so yes
She's a jew
...
PC only games like XCOM etc only benefit from the cross pollination of all the interloping console (PC) gamers on the platform. High tide rising boats.
Problem is, once everyone vacates PC silently enmasse at some point in a gen or 2, all those "PC only" games will suffer immeasurably.
Future RTS/MOBA will be played on tablets.
Well played.
I was gonna buy it on release if the port was decent at least
>100GB
>no KB+M
No thanks
it's only like 75GB and you can compress it down to 23 yourself
Your post does nothing to refute my point. Not supporting the main input method on the platform you're porting to is retarded and shouldn't be accepted.
>PC hardcore gamers of old would look at modern PC gamers like console gamers.
We do for a lot of us. With Steam being the harbinger of the "consolification" of the platform.
>Win 10
>High tide rising boats.
Depends on the amplitude of the waves. And this is far from a calm sea.
>Buying games for pc
I would have bought it for the pc instead of the ps4 if I knew it was coming to the pc.
>announce game
>say "NO PC VERSION"
>a year later quietly release a pc version
"WHY DIDN'T IT SELL ON PC???"
are we gonna have this same thread in 2 years regarding valkyria chronicles 4?
ill buy it when its $15 on kinguin or g2a in a few weeks
>Problem is, once everyone vacates PC silently enmasse at some point in a gen or 2, all those "PC only" games will suffer immeasurably.
l m f a o
but also read if you want to finally understand why you keep getting bamboozled by devs continuously choosing to port to PC and why it will never stop unless/until consoles essentially become de facto PC's
git gud, casual fucking trash
>in 2 years regarding valkyria chronicles 4
>only two years
>any game with a controller
keyboard plus mouse is better in literally every genre. casuals' opinions don't matter.
>2 years
more like a couple of months later, if not earlier.
>b-but KB+M support doesn't matter!
Fucking retards, they had TWO previous games to figure this out: Toukiden 1 & 2, both of which flopped horribly on PC while, not surprisingly, having no KB+M support. KT are literally too stupid to rake in free money.
>fighting games
>action games
>racing games
>flight sims
I'm a KB+M fag but you can't make general statements like that. At least say "in every genre where moving the camera is beneficial"
You still need at the very least an analog stick to play racan geams properly, and sports games on KB+M are hell
>Sega
>timely PC ports
no one bought Toukiden because they were shit
>port action game to pc
>somehow expecting to play with a kb+m as wella s you would with a controller
just get a cheapass gamepad you poorfags
They already told you why you're wrong in another thread. Here's your (You)
Steam has thousands of indie games that get smaller and smaller slices of the pie
Consoles only sustain themselves on AAA games with bloated marketing budgets that need to sell 10 million copies
Crash when?
You're the only idiot that want mouse
When the SJW kill themselves and normalfags get tastes
You really think we don't have a gamepad? Should we start telling you to get a more expensive mouse because of your controller preference?
When was the last time a Sega game was released anywhere near the same time as console versions? 2012, with Binary Domain. After that it was Sonic Lost World, being released two years after the Wii U version. Every other Sega PC port is at least 5+ years old.
At this point I don't even want this turd, they've wasted their chance of selling the game to me by treating the PC playerbase like dogshit. They don't deserve my money, I'll rather play more Dark Souls 3 which I actually own on Steam and have played comfortably through the game with KB+M multiple times.
i bought them
theyre gathering dust because i keep spending time on dota and buying hats
worst part is i keep buying every weeb agme that comes out anyways besides vns. im gonna be 60 before i finish my backlog+future games
It wouldn't be a problem with a decent kb+m layout. But that isn't even my point. It should support it just like games should support gamepads on console. It should be one of the bare minimum things you do when porting a game to PC.
>You really think we don't have a gamepad
Yes. I don't want to believe your that retarded.
thats....not equivalent at all
Sonic Forces was simultaneous release, and Sonic Mania was two weeks after the console release
Good for you fuckface, it's not like you could handle Nioh's gameplay with a keyboard anyway, you would drop the game at the second boss and wonder why you can't do it when peoples with a controller can.
so you need Bloodborne?
Sonic Generations
why does it matter when kb+m sucks for these types of games anyways? might as well jsut cut out the middleman and use a fucking gamepad
i ended up getting ds4 because ff type 0, while having support for kb+m is jsut shit to play with a fucking kb
>keyboard plus mouse is better in literally every genre
Hey /r/mustardrice, go back
I think it works, you say we don't have the tool available to play "properly" with a controller, I say you don't have the tool available to play "properly" with a KB+M. It's based on preference, not on whether we have a controller, is my point
I'm not paying full price for this, I will get it cheap somewhere down the road. If they had put more work into building up an interesting world with quality level designs like dark souls did, I would buy it now.
>why does it matter when gamepad sucks for these types of games anyways? might as well jsut cut out the middleman and use a fucking kb+m
Never happens on PC ports to console. Shouldn't happen with console ports to PC. And action games can be fine using kb+m. I've played Dark Souls and MGR with kb+m with no little/no issue.
you can play any game made for pc with any mouse. You can probably spend a little more for something with mouse 4/5 but you dont need to run 60+ to play a pc game
its like you bitching that im telling you to get a 5 dollar mouse
>PS4 version released 9 months ago
>by now you can buy the PS4 version for $20 and the season pass for even less
>Expect a late port from a dev with a reputation of shit ports to sell anywhere even close
Then sony niggers wonder why everyone else thinks they're braindead.
>Deluded consolecuck thinks the Master Race cares about another Soulsclone
Just because you're starving for games doesnt mean everyone else is too
