>people say SotN is te easiest Exploringvania
>it's actually hard as hell if you don't know what you're doing
Why do people lie?
People say SotN is te easiest Exploringvania
People knew what they're doing.
i never said that
just eat mo chikin
I went into it blind, did a bunch of things suboptimally, and still beat the whole.
>exploringvania
I 196% it in 9 hours. It's pretty easy if you played any Metroidvania prior.
I played through it for the first time a few months ago, it was a little challenging at first, got easier towards the end of the first half, spiked up a little bit the next half, then got very easy once I found some gear in reverse castle.
Sympathy of the Knight is the most underrated Magellanvania
*castleroid
There is no way in hell that SotN can be hard, not even if you play using only Alucard's flying kicks, the thing is that Alucard itself is OP as all fuck.
>Alucard itself
>itself
Did you just misgender Alucard?
Alucard have no penor, no penis no man.
>Alucard have no penor
How do you know?
Vampires have no genitalia.
Also, you can kick Alucard in the balls and it won't react, because it have no balls, that or it have balls of steel.
It's not hard no matter what you try to do. I beat it as a kid easily and as an Adult I could beat it using no equipment.
The enemies are just very basic and easy. Same for the bosses.
>Vampires have no genitalia.
And where did you learn this particular bit of Castlevania lore?
From the Netflix series.
Brauner is a daughterless cuck.
kill yourself
>it have balls of steel.
He's a vampire that knocked up a Belmont and didn't take responsibility, if that's not having balls of steel I don't know what is.
Please this isn't a bar fight. Have some class.
The easiest CastleReno.

Hardest Ludovania
Hard as hell is a huge overstatement, the game is challenging for a first timer, but even then, its only challenging early on, and that challenge is by no means extreme.
and it's official too.

DELTE TIHIS. ALUCARD IS FOUR MARIA
*zaps you*
*throws 1000 knifes to his face*
Soul Steal and Crissaegrim are the only things you need to know to make this game easy as shit. That said, if you actually played without the knowledge of these two, then the game is of average difficulty at best.
>Fan translations
Get that shit outta here
You will never die thanks to Soul Steal. The only thing is the bullshit where you can get a false ending halfway through because a dumbass item puzzle.
why HYDRO
...
But with Corn.
In fairness crissaegrim(Along with a few other items like the ring that's +20-25ish to all stats) literally can't drop the first time you play the game.
But yeah, really easy game in general. While I like the other rpg aspects I wish these games didn't have levels, since you just kinda outscale everything.
Reminder that Tak Fuji recorded the guitars for SotN's soundtrack
Was easy for me after dropping the stupid dirk and it's hypothetical dps for sword with a safer range to it.
The plant demon girls in the marble gallery are hard the first time I fought them, as are the cuter plant pixie girls in the caves, sometimes I went up against a boss with the worst possible shield or secondary weapon and died, so I tried different approaches until I found something that worked. I cheesed that big golden guy and Dracula it with the shield rod and speedy shamshir from the inverted library which I happened to find with zero grinding.
>Tak Fuji
Tak the power of Juju?
In terms of the combat it's by far the easiest. Soul Steal keeps you alive through anything and Crissaegrim will literally kill the final boss in mere seconds even if you're underleveled.
In terms of exploration it's one of the most difficult. A bit like Aria and Dawn, it has a dumbass puzzle segment where you need to equip certain shit on your character or else be locked out of the true ending.
I'd say Circle of the Moon (without glitch use) is the hardest as there's a huge focus on platforming and challenging enemies that just isn't in the other games.
Hate how the only way to kill this guy is by using broken combos. There's no way to beat him on just skill and time.
I played OoE on hard mode and jesus fuck, that's one of the hardest things I've ever done in a game. The skeleton cave can go fuck itself.
I practiced each boss until I got all the medals, but that was easier than the basic navigation in most areas.
Also,
I WILL TAKE YOUR SHADOW!
He's not that hard. All of his moves are telegraphed. It just takes a while because he has the maximum allowed health and high defense on anywhere except his head.
What a guy.
Blackmore is one of the more creative bosses that came out of OoE. Castlevania is great when they're not just reusing bosses from previous games.
This dudes got his own trap haram.
Did he use ONE MIRRION guitars?
fucking cheap ass belmont
... I don't remember this part.
I thought most of the bosses were good. I thought the crab, Rusalka, and Eligor really stood out.
Blackmore kicked my ass the first time I played the game. I felt like he was the biggest "casual filter."
What I like about playing on hard mode is that the bosses actually get new move sets, instead of just upping the damage and HP.
I guess having a church means that Dracula had the castle before he turned and made all his deals with the devil.
When you compare it to La-Mulana or SM, it is indeed easiest "exploringvania".
La-Mulana isn't that hard outside of the puzzles, and lol Super Metroid.
What voice effect do they use when Alucard says stuff like DARK METAMORPHOSIS and SOUL STEAL? Or the big sword saying SWORD BROTHERS. I really like that effect and want to replicate it.
>Half
I see what they did there.
>captcha: public caster
...
Psx version used 'new half' and you, along with the translators, probably didn't know that was jp for tranny.
So how do you unlock new spells in SotN?
Only just played it recently via my tablet. Think I only figured out the summon spirit spell and one where I healed off hearts?
Still beat the game(true ending included), only had to cheese the big fuck in the reverse castle
the reposting was inevitable
youtube.com
Why is it that I love the ClassicVanias, yet hate Dark Souls, despite them sharing many of the same base ideas?
That guy was ahead of his time. Sad how few views he has.
i mean i still see people using the gutsman's ass meme so it's not like he's unappreciated, and I think he lost a lot of his videos or got lost in the reupload craze bullshit
You don't really unlock spells unless they're tied to Alucard's familiars or tranformations. You start with all the spells (though the game doesn't tell you the commands) but not enough MP for Soul Steal.
Do you prefer analog or pad for these spell commands
FUCKING USELESS ASS WEREWOLF
Definitely pad, any sidescroller is shit with console analogs.
>HELP ME STUFF MY MONEY INTO MY LANTERNS. BELMONT KEEPS STEALING ALL OF MY CASH!
thanks for sharing this.
This is what I figured, probably didn't figure them out since i was using touch controls.
Couldn't do richter mode on that thing though, too fucking fussy.
>sees that pic
He has a point, it's a very bad spot for a shop.
Juste is my favorite Belmont
HYDRO STORM

HYDRO STORM
aaaAAAAH
HYDRO STORM
8:2
4:3
Juste has the best design and his obsession with interior decorating is amazing.
He's my second favorite mostly because the L/R dash system makes him really fun to control and he has like a billion moves. The only Belmont I can think of with more moves is Leon who is my favorite because he fucking rules.
Is Castlevania meant for 4:3?
This whole conversation lead to this.
>shield rod + iron shield into shield rod + alurcard shield
what the fuck were they smoking when they made the shield rod?
whatever it was it wasn't nearly as good as what they were smoking when they made the Crissaegrim/Valmanway
Led to the Harmony of Dissonance Dracula fight?
at least the crissaegrim is a rare drop. Alucard shield and the shield rod are items you find laying around the castle and this combo is arguable stronger. It's pretty much godmode cheating.
I spat orange soda all over my keyboard, fuck you
Wow, I never got far enough in the game to know there was actually a fucking shop
New move sets you say? Maybe I'll have to replay the game. I didn't know that.
there's also a lengthy sidequest involving Juste becoming obsessed with decorating an empty room with various things from around the castle.
>Dracula Vlad Tepes
>Vlad "Dracula" Tepes
>Vlad Dracul
Which one is right?
Yes. No games were made for the internal resolution of the console.
this game was god tier but i stopped playing once i reached beelzebub and couldnt beat him. looking back on it now i knew he was an optional boss, i could have just ignored him and came back later, but i was fucking set on beating him
It's really absurd, it just came out of the blue.
Maybe in something more laid back like SotN or Portrait of Ruin it could have worked, but given the severe circumstances of the story in Harmony of Dissonance it just makes no sense whatsoever.
Or better question, why hasn't Konami made a 3d souls style castlevania yet?
From literally puts whips near the beginning of the Souls games for this specific purpose.
Belmont run in Dark Souls 1 is still one of the most fun experiences I've had with any vidya.
besides I honestly love Curse of Darkness, playing it on the highest difficulty it was a legitimately challenging and fun as fuck action game.
>That all furniture TAS of HoD
youtube.com
Who was in the wrong?
I think it's well balanced, gets harder on the reversed castle, but not imposible.
They don't have to be hard, that's not the main purpose of the game.
>why hasn't Konami made a 3d souls style castlevania yet?
Explain this.
Juste doesn't care about physics.
Why does Richter sound like he's about to fuck me in the ass when he says "Magnificent! But now feel my unbridled wrath!"? The VA underplays his performance through and through but then comes this line where he hams it up to eleven.
