No other game makes me as happy.

ding ding ding! correct, OP, SMW2 is from 22 years ago, and SotN is from 20 years ago

This is absolutely Nintendo's best game.

wat the hell is that

hahaha
no

Think again, kiddo

Modern 2D games look better, are you blind

Ori uses a lot of 3D assets. The MC is a 3D model.

>implying it's not still alive and well

Guilty Gear proves hand drawn graphics have been improving over the years.

>3D models
>Hand drawn

D models

Are you fucking blind? The Guilty Gear series has been using hand drawn graphics since forever, they're a damn pioneer in amazing 2D art.

Still 2D perspective

Looks like a flash game

While they were fun games to play, I really didn't like the artstyle for the characters in the new(ish) Rayman games.

Those are sidescrollers. They aren't 2D games though.

Nigga wut?

So Contra isn't a 2D game because it sidescrolls?

Contra is both. Ori and Rayman use 3D polygonal assets.

2D games mean perspective not if its pixel

...

...

OP is clearly talking about 2D art anons.

...

Ori is a very pretty game.. but that is literally the only good thing I can say about it.

That's fine, but he's not on /gd/. This is supposed to be a topic on 2D video games, in which he's painfully wrong.

Perspective > Model Design

no

>*WAH WAH WAH*

This picture always reminds me of Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. Scary shit.

>video game art/graphic design is not Sup Forumsrelated
Fuck off.

now you say it, I see it too, great movie

>Ignoring perspective in a style built around perspective; in favor of arguing purely on design to classify the style isn't a topic better suited for the board dedicated to graphic design; but for the board dedicated to video games in which I'm ignoring the key aspect of.

Real nice, you retard.

>mixels
>gradiants
>bloom

This game triggers my /vr/ autism everytime

>Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

mixels? google is just giving me some tv show

>Lacking 3rd grade reading comprehension

2D games did peak in the 4th gen. 5th gen was when Sony and Nintendo actively tried to get rid of them. Other than a few fighting games, it was in decline. Though youngfags will disagree because they grew up with PS1 and N64.

>youngfags
>Grew up with PS1 and N64

You might want to reevaluate the board you're on. Youngfags grew into the 360.

>ywn

wat game

Claw

but user, I was only released in 2014

that game uses 3D models tho

>tfw no 3DS port STILL

Please no, Returns often dipped to a slideshow framerate.
Switch would work better

por que no los dos

I want to say Metal Slug but Rayforce makes the absolute best use of 2d sprite graphics, rotation, scalling and all that neat stuff to make you think it's a 3d game.

Returns barely managed 30fps on the 3ds, Tropickle Cheeze would probably melt the system
