>VOTE WITH YOUR WALLET!!!
Ok, so what about the other 90% of people who are retards and support shit like DLC and lootboxes?
>VOTE WITH YOUR WALLET!!!
Ok, so what about the other 90% of people who are retards and support shit like DLC and lootboxes?
You're right, don't vote with your wallet. Just buy it anyway, support practices that you don't agree with and fuck you in the ass, everyone else is doing it so you should do it too.
Stupid cunt.
They get to vote too.
Never said that, you mong.
tell them about the downsides to spending your cash on worthless cosmetics or supporting pay2win styles
I just wanna be happy and play video games. Why everyone gotta be mean? :/
>just willingly waste your money on shit games with awful practices
Yeah, OP, that'll show them! You're right that it's usually a platitude to say that, but doing so sure has stopped me from getting ripped off or upset over buying shit games. I don't really care if casual faggots like you who are afraid of missing the reference on the latest /r/gaming post, I'm still not interested in bad games.
there should be some kind of license for buying video games. the license should require a certain amount of education, IQ, and degree of income
only then can we truly vote with out wallets
>implying I'm saying that since everyone else does that it's ok for you to do it.
There goes the video game industry.
Maybe you should clarify your point then, faggot. You're arguing what, two things?
1. Voting with your wallet doesn't work because of casuals, so buy whatever flavor of the month trash you want and try to enjoy it.
2. Voting with your wallet doesn't work because of casuals, so dedicate your life fighting shitty practices in video games, of all things, so other adults can laugh at you for being a pathetic manchild.
Both are equally dumb as fuck. Seek a cliff.
Yeah, that's kind of the problem with that, isn't it?
So, you admit that bitching about it is pointless
bitch a lot and try to fuck with them. meme retards into not buying it too
Democracy is mob rule.
Yep, hence why wasting your time on those games in any way, shape, or form is retarded. Just buy games from decent companies that don't do that shit and avoid the epic reddit downvote brigades.
Bingo.
>Ok, so what about the other 90% of people who are retards and support shit like DLC and lootboxes?
If the recent Star Wars debacle is anything to go by: They won't buy it either.
People think video games are a normie thing, and it's not. It's steeped in internet culture and it only takes one outraged asshole to get the ball rolling.
Except their votes in favor are worth more than thousands of votes against it.
No reasonable person would accept this system
>fuck the guberment mannnnnnn
>spend your money how I tell you to.
You make thread after thread crying about it on Sup Forums. I still haven't figured out how that changes loot boxes though.
Let em buy whatever they want. I don't like COD but I like tactical shooters. So I dont buy COD and I buy tactical shooters. I dont support things I dont like and I show the people who make the things I do like that I'm interested in supporting them. You cant lie awake at night just because the market doesn't always support what you think is best. I cant believe people are still harping on about this after Star Wars showed that not supporting something and letting it be known can make a difference.
>Video Games aren't a normie thing
wew
Typical soyboy attitude
>People think video games are a normie thing, and it's not.
No, AAA is certainly a normie thing, least EA and Ubisoft.
"Voting with your wallet" isn't Democracy or mob rule. It's the minority (whales) having more power over the majority.
If that's the case, why didn't everyone suck up Battlefront 2?
I don't matter if it is reasonable, that's the system.
Thinking it doesn't matter and not doing it is a very infectious way of thinking. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy you can only avoid by just trusting in doing it.
Surprise surprise, in a free market consumers still have to organize and get the word out! Teenage libertarians seem to believe that everyone should live in their own bubble and never actually do anything as groups. In reality that only makes the problem worse and, if anything, leads to inevitable government action.
This, it's pretty fucking normie. Last week right at the height of the shitstorm I overheard three guys at my gym talking about how great the game looked. Unless you check here, reddit, or some other shitty website nonstop you wouldn't even know there's an issue unless you happened to see it on whatever social media feed you choose.
>It's the minority (whales) having more power over the majority.
You think people who buy this shit are really the minority? I always assumed casuals and normies ate that shit up.
Did they not? I know the more informed consumers hated it, but what of the casuals?
I support DLC. Nothing wrong with it except for bad practices that can be used with it.
Who fucking cares
isn't that how democracy normally works?
tyranny of the majority
If you don't buy it, you'll contribute to changing things by the exact amount of one purchase.
That's not nothing.
But the best way is probably to try persuading other people, since that could potentialy create or at least help to create a domino effect.
Just talk about it here or someone else like you usualy do. It's the best you can do and even though it might not matter that much, you'll be doing it with minimal effort, maybe even enjoying yourself while chatting with your friends from Sup Forums.
We just gotta keep shouting loud enough, for long enough, to get noticed by these retards and get the point across.
Detach yourself from the rat race. Find the hidden gems you'll genuinely enjoy, and understand that AAA games are made solely to make money.
I talk to several guys in my Discord who think the game still looks fun enough to buy, and they are even well aware of the mtx shit. You can't fix stupid, and plenty of stupid people think they gameplay is worth playing and that it's fine to buy it now, EA surely learned their lesson and as long as I don't spend $100 on unlocks I'm not supporting this cancerous shit. The game will still make its money back hand over fist before 2017 ends.
>so what about the other 90% of people who are retards and support shit like DLC and lootboxes?
It's not just that, OP. There are plenty of times that the 90% will actually go against that stuff, but the opposing 10% that do support DLC/lootboxes will have enough disposable income to shell out a major profit for the publishers.
Whether we're in the majority or the minority, we're still fucked.
You people come across more retarded, honestly.
>row row fight the powa
fuck off and let people enjoy what they want to. if you dont like it then you obviously wont touch it in the first place
>But the best way is probably to try persuading other people
That shit is borderline useless, though. Normies can't be convinced of anything.
People who buy lootboxes and microtransactions are the minority in every game that has made public how many players are buying microtransactions. They can effectively absorb the loss from thousands of people "voting with their wallets" by milking the hundreds of whales who spend hundreds of thousands collectively.
They vote with their wallet. Who cares what some autist on Sup Forums is screeching about.
Never going to work. Anybody with the power to actually enforce changes on the industry will never waste their time with it, (granted, they waste their time on just as much frivolous shit) and the powers that be inside the industry aren't going to make changes because it would mean less money in their pockets. Gaming is just too rife for corruption and bullshit between the braindead """fans""" and every meaningful review site being just an arm of the PR team.
Rather than persuading, just make the game look bad or subtly imply that no one will be playing it. If criticizing of the product's quality doesn't work, then just trick people into not buying it by making them think its unfashionable.
I've taken up zailing.
Tyranny of the minority s pretty much the opposite of a democracy.
>>row row fight the powa
fuck off and let people put their kids to work if they want to. If you dont like it then you obviously wont touch it in the first place
the only smart move is to stop playing video games.
maybe pick up one of the few good games that comes out every decade
other than that, it's all trash you should avoid.
Vote with your wallet is marketing damage control. Voting with your wallet o its own never works. I haven't purchased a single EA game in almost ten years and yet here we are, with my favorite series (Battlefront) being desecrated.
devs gotta make their money back, op™
>either quit your hobby or let companies bend you over and go in raw
Nah.
And is that wrong? People will continue to pander to and support those who support them. Like it or not those are the people who keep the game developing and the servers running. Games are designed to hit a specific market, every single one of them. Whats wrong with them finding and establishing themselves within that niche? It gives developers an incentive to continue developing the game instead of dropping it. Remember when people cried about endless sequels half a decade ago? Now we have the opposite and people are still angry. If you buy a game nowadays odds are it could be supported for years, that's a good thing.
I cant believe you thought that up and actually had the gall to post it. 10/10 bravo.
I only suggested greatly tampering off on your hobby if it's gone to shit and there's nothing you enjoy in it
or out right quit. which would be ideal, because come on, video games are trash.
90% will shame the 10% until it hits home, then the tables turn and we gotta fight the system, guys!
And yet here you are, making a thread on Sup Forums about it.
No, I'm bitching about Sup Forums.
>Ok, so what about the other 90% of people who are retards and support shit like DLC and lootboxes?
kill them
