Entire levels are missing, framerate is worse, characterization is ruined by adherence to movie shit, character animation in in-game cutscenes is totally lifeless, no banter between Ratchet and Clank, all new content is dogshit, etc. etc.

Somehow they got the original team together to do the remaster, too. iirc, the new levels were things they wanted to do in the original.
And somehow I neglected to mention that it added 4-player co-op.

I want to believe that Insomniac can bounce back and make a vastly superior sequel (like they did with A Crack in Time after the mediocre Tools of Destruction), but after seeing the trailers/footage for the new Spider-Man game I have my doubts. Insomniac is a shadow of its former self. I think the breaking point was when Overstrike got turned into FUSE by EA.

Objectively that may be the case, but the thing is all the good parts of 2016 are the parts lifted directly from the original, and all of those parts are better experienced in the original, where you can play them in 60 fps with good music, and surrounded by far better handling of story and characters and so forth.
So it's in this weird place where it's sort of completely worthless as an experience if you have access to the original.
