The female voice actor was surprisingly fantastic during the far harbor quest lines...was pleasantly surprised at the effort Courtney Taylor put into that portion of the game. Too bad that as soon as the dlc is over it's back to low effort for the rest of the game.

It ran very well on my PC during the five hours I had it installed.

Fallout 4 is way more of a shooter than an rpg compared to previous fallouts, so I liked it a lot more than the other ones. Survival mode made it amazing for me. Instead of an rpg, it turned into a survival-exploration shooter with rpg elements. I really, really liked survival mode and honestly believe it's how the game is meant to be played. Fast travel being disabled can sometimes be a bummer but you can travel from one end of the entire map to the other in like 10 realtime minutes, so it isn't too bad, plus you experience a decent amount of random encounters on the way. The worst part is that you can only save by sleeping, but this also makes the game a lot more tense. In survival mode, you're not a god, like vanilla fallout games, you're just another guy until you hit later levels.

The way it implemented companions was geniunley better than how 3 and NV did so.

The character faces are okay, and the character generator the best so far in the series. It's also, sadly, the game's best feature.

Once you got some of the mods that let you place objects anywhere and release the settlement build limit, you could do some pretty sweet shit with the settlement building.

I still love watching Robbaz play FO4 because some of his settlements were fucking amazing.

It helps me save money on video games by being a video game that I don't want to buy.
In all seriousness though, I think the sprint function is a godsend for melee builds. That's about it.

If anything, that's the fucking lame part about this game - that despite how nice the game looks, it tanks with slightest push. I still get 30-40 fps in the city. I should put that dynamic shadows distance scaling mod back on, but fuck me, why should I have to compromise on the game? Why was it so clearly developed for consoles?

the combat is so easy though, theres like an obscene amount of V.A.T.S. skills it gets to the point where youll kill or nearly kill everything in the first turn, worst case scenario you get a buff mirelurk queen and you're underleveled.

Fallout 4 managed to strengthen a lot of 3/NV's weaknesses, but also butchered what made them good.

I just hope that Bethesda wakes up from this Skyrim fetish someday and manages to create a Fallout 5 with a good engine for once. Even if it has literally no RPG elements like 4, I'd at least like to get 60fps consistently.

Beth started catering to consoles with morrowind. This is where they started to streamline shit. Also the graphics and animation were fucking godawful even back then.

Settlement system is legit amazing and really enjoyable with the right mods (Place Everywhere, Horizon, Sim Settlements to name a few).

I think the problem with it was power armor was too fucking common. Fusion cores were too common as well. I think in the starting corner alone you can find 4-5 partial suits (not counting concord) and almost a dozen fusion cores.

Skryim is a shit.
Mods are the polish.
Don't think it's to the game's credit that people can do whatever they want when they mod it. Besides make functioning ladders of course.

I genuinely liked being in the games world. But I found small annoying problems that made me get out. Just fix those things. Implement some features that are actually challenging. Stop getting rid of shit out of fear of driving players away.
And please steal some features from STALKER, if that isnt too much to ask

Also one thing I didn't realize about modding fo4 is that it doesn't solve any of the huge issues

It just adds in features that distracts you from the glaring issues. It's pretty depressing.

I feel like there are a lot of talented modders. But most of them focus on implementing things they want to see, like weapons and armor... and bodysliders... I hear many people just saying certain requests cant be done because of how the game is. And that made me sad, but now I'm ok.

The weapon modding and legendary effects are nice additions. Decent Companions and better character customization.
