Why do PC bros pirate so much?

I thought digital media games were supposed to be cheaper? Why do you still feel the necessity to pirate then? Take a fantastic game like pic related, for an instance. Don't you want to support it for the great experience it is? Not to mention the constant sales Steam is known for, even to console players such as I.

You mean PCfags?

bioshock will always be a dumbed down and consolized system shock 2

If I dont have to pay for something I wont. Devs wont go broke because of me... cucks like you will always pay for games like good goys. So I dont have to worry about that.

Because I can, faggot.

They are supposed to be cheaper, they just aren't

>I thought digital media games were supposed to be cheaper?
They are when it comes to smaller studios; the AAA prices are out of our reach, buddy, barking on the wrong tree?

>Take a fantastic game like pic related, for an instance.
>Don't you want to support it for the great experience it is?
Bastardised version of SS? No thank you.

>Not to mention the constant sales Steam is known for,
And I spend as much free money as I can supporting developers that actually need it - even though I live in Яиssia and get around ~400$/month as a teacher.

I don't anymore because I can afford the games I want, but when I was a kid we just pirated everything with my brother and dad.

Games are just too expensive relative to the wage you get around here. (eastern europe).

you're baiting but i pirate because i can. simple as that.

(You)

Pirating now is easier than ever. I don't know when it became so streamlined. I remember back in 2011 I tried to play batman arkham city but my pirated copy wouldn't save at first until I fucked around figuring out which of the files needed to be replaced with cracked versions etc....

Now all you do is download a repack and an installer takes care of it all.

Some shit doesn't deserve to be paid for like Fallout 4 and all its dlc. It makes way more money then it should and that money doesn't go into development because they still turn out the same fucking trash.
I only buy weeb shit I wanna support like Disgaea or .hack even though I don't play it.

Think of it this way:

There is a street vendor selling chocolate bars for 1 shekel each.
Across the street from that vendor's stand, there is an unattended bowl of chocolate bars with a sign saying they're free.

i pirate absolute trash but end up buying good games even if i pirate them

I pirate games that support practices I am against (microtransactions, Denuvo, lootboxes, day one DLC, etc) and that I would never pay a single dollar for anyway.

Any game that I want to play that do not do this bullshit, I buy it. Hence why my steam library is filled.

FYI if you didn't know
there was a study financed by EU on the impact of piracy:

there is no evidency piracy is a problem

the jews obviously tried not releasing that but heres the link anyway: gizmodo.com/the-eu-suppressed-a-300-page-study-that-found-piracy-do-1818629537

I used to pirate all the time before I had a job, now I just buy things. It's also way more of a pain in the ass these days, try to pirate anything without a private tracker and you instantly get smacked with a warning from your ISP.

If you could get fucked and sucked for free would you pay for it just cos you felt sorry for the girl you fucked?

...

I pirate because
a) too much shitty games
b) in my country where wages are like 3 times lower than in Germany, USA etc, games are still 60 EUR (not even USD) which is absurd and inb4
>hurr durr u have to pay the same!!!

Fuck no, in Brazil or Russia, they pay less for games.

>be me
>be kid
>consolefag
>rent games to see if they are any good
>buy them if they are good, don't if they suck
>be adult
>exclusively play on PC
>no possible way to rent a game
>have to pirate games to try before I buy
>wait until EA of all people release origin access for 5 bucks a month to play almost any game at any time

as much as I hate the fuckers, they did one thing right.

That's bioshock 2 though, that was actually good . /whohere/ liked bioshock infinite the most out of the 3 because it was mainly its own unique thing?
I rank them
System Shock 2>Bioshock Infinite>Bioshock 2>System Shock 1>Bioshock

user please, hacked consoles were the main selling point and the very reason Playstation got to where it is today.

Do your homework next time before posting garbage threads.

What's it feel like to have taste that shit?

Thanks for the link. And all the replies also.

I'd be skeptical about the free shit. Maybe it's poisoned.

Forgot to say, OP here.

Nigga WHAT? Games are sold for 240 bucks in fucking Brazil.

>Games are sold for 240 bucks in fucking Brazil.
y tho

>the very reason Playstation got to where it is today.
>excluding the fact it was THE cheap DVD player

is this the daily thread where we pretend nobody pirated on ps3 and 360?

Same reason Aussies pay $20 more than the other civilized countries: import tax and then, when importing wasn't necessary, they kept the price fucked because any chance to screw over the consumer will be exploited.

why would i pay for something i can get for free with zero risk? anyway, i pirated all my ds and psp games as well, its not like you can only pirate pc games.
i make the exception of paying for games only when there is a developer i really, really want to support, but that sort of thing happens once in a blue moon. last time in 2015 when i paid for underrail.

>I thought digital media games were supposed to be cheaper?
You thought wrong, publishers don't pass any savings from digital onto consumers and pocket all of the difference.

Some storefronts even charge US prices in other countries making digital versions much more expensive than retail where the publisher makes the least profit, their pricing model actually encourages you to make them less money, digital game pricing is completely absurd.

>Why do you still feel the necessity to pirate then?
No demos and too many instances of technical incompetence, I pirate because I don't trust, it helps that it's also legal in my country.

>Don't you want to support it for the great experience it is?
Not when they "remaster" the game and still don't fix any of the well documented mouse control issues it has had since the original release.

2 > 1 > infinite

didn't play system shock

I don't think I've pirated a game in at least 2 years.

Pricing for games has actually declined sharply in Aus over the last 5 or so years, you can get most games for $60-70AUD at retail on release and PC games are usually another $10 cheaper, everything was $100AUD everywhere back in my teens and I remember popular SNES games going for up to $150AUD new.

EBGames still has shit prices though.

How do you there are many pirates on PC ?
Just because a game doesnt catch interest of a mass on PC doesnt mean all other games are getting pirated
Look at last year, fucking stardew valley make more revenue on Steam than fucking CoD despite also being released on GoG (revenue, not sales)
And pubg this year is one of best selling games of all times

To be fair, EB Games has shit everything.

I just pirate old games that I know that aren't going to have a remake/port (like fire emblem radiant dawn) or a game that is released not too long ago relatively but won't really do anything with the sales (ssb brawl, uhhhhh can't think of anything else lul)

i could never beat the puzzle at the start, so idk about bioshock infinite

i havent pirated anything in like 6 years

i pirate because consoles can buy the game, sell it back and get money back whereas i cannot, and still am expected to pay $60 for microtransaction bullshit and the sorts

also

>terrible port = no money from me
