Never played any Witcher game. Should I start from 1?
>slavs
>western
nice meme
>had to compete with a decade of microtransactions, loot boxes, season passes, on-disc day one dlcs, the rise of CoD-like shooters, indie crap, shitty mmos, ASSFAGGOTS, cinematic experiences made of QTEs and so on
Wasn't that hard to be honest
>WESTERN
you mean eastern.
EAST WINS AGAIN.
girls in 1 are ugly so you will hate them don't play it
Yup. Read the books too.
Dont identify my country with western cucks
poland stronk
...
POland is central European country, not Eastern, dumbass.
Witcher 3 wasn't even the best game of the year it came out in.
Ignore the books, they are below average fantasy and have no relevance to the games created by entirely different people.
Only nostalgiafags who played Witcher 1 at release will recommend it. I loved Witcher 2 and 3 while hated the first one, could barely play it.
Witcher 3 is the most impressing game of the series and of the genre in general and has been designed so that you will catch up without playing the previous ones. Up to you if you want to start from Witcher 2 or 3. You could play the best one first and then play Witcher 2 to learn some of the game's history.
>eternally mad bbcuck
Poland definitely belongs to the West nowadays. Only when the country was occupied by Ruskies were they part of the East.
Play 3. If you let it start (it takes time), you'll eventually get into it. That means you'll also play 2, and then maybe 1.
You'll start reading the books but won't finish any of them.
Don't even own bb
"East" means something quite different in the context of the Cold War anyway. Europe as a whole has always contrasted itself with "the East".
Start from 1. It's kind of old, but it has top tier atmosphere and will get you to know the key characters and things about the setting. Just don't let the meh prologue burn you out, the game really picks up from act I onward.
Never forget.
What do you want to say? Are you disputing something or just saying "yes."
>"""occupied""""
More like liberated from nazis and closed concentration camps that worked on the territory of Poland.
If that's what you have to tell yourself, fag. The game sucks and the only reason anyone likes it is because of the HBO tier porn.
>this last paragraph
>possible emerging world power
As a Pole, that made me feel warm inside but I don't know what retard wrote this bullshit.
The fact that someone thought Fallout 4 was better than anything, let alone GOTY fucking baffles me.
What """best game""" are you even talking about then?
Let us all laugh at your opinion.
>2 digits IQ teenager only sees "porn" in TW3.
hahaha
gamerevolution.com
I will never forget the amount of butthurt Sup Forumsermin had that year.
>armor
what in actual hell? did you cosplay Eredin whole game?
That's not what liberation means, Vladimir. When you liberate a country, that means you grant it freedom. Soviet Union basically just replaced Nazi Germany as the occupier and Poland ran away as soon as possible like the rest of the satellites.
Bloodborne salt that year was terrific.
I'm still mad Rageholic dislikes it due to 'supposed' plagerism.
Streets of Rage Remake had it beat by 4 years and it's still the reigning champion of this decade.
Has pretty underwhelming waifus doe. Or is his a side effect of being “””””””western””””””
>skyrim tier combat
>good
with that garbage gameplay and story its nowhere close to that. wake the hell up people, this game was dog shit.
B&W was such a fucking incredible DLC, easily better than other stand alone games that were released that year.
Heart warming
Dramatic
Fun
Sadness because the journey ends
Beautifully looking
Great music
New gameplay features
It was just THAT good.
Truly the best game of a decade.
>m-muh combat
Go grind another NG++++++ retard.
I don't know what kind of Slavic sorcery is this, but Anarietta makes me feel tingly on the deepest of levels and I'm a misogynist through and through
What was the best game of the last decade and the decade before that and of the 80's? I have hard time naming one.
yup
Nas a game where you can press 1 button to dodge roll every attack with no cooldown is a shit game
>dat feel when game does more than just re-skin one dress
Modern video games industry has truly lowered the standards that I had to be impressed by that.
>Only nostalgiafags who played Witcher 1 at release will recommend it
Utter horse shit. I played the first game for the first time earlier this year (because I wanted to play TW3 and refused to without doing the first two), and I loved it. Narrative-wise it's every bit as good as the sequels and fleshes out the characters nicely (since I have zero interest in reading the books). The combat is perfectly serviceable. Only the dated quest design really lets it down, with way too much running backwards and forwards between locations. But then I was doing every side quest, and that's optional.
It's a great game in its own right and I'm glad I started there. The entire plot of the next two games is set up towards the end of the first one. It's actually quite remarkable how closely it all ties in, looking back now having played them all.
Still mad a bit that there is no Anarietta or Syanna for masochists end for people who ditched both Yennefer and Triss
>Has pretty underwhelming waifus doe. Or is his a side effect of being “””””””western””””””
Sure thing, homo.
>Couldn't bang her.
Fuck.
I can correct myself by noting that there are, obviously, a few people who will find the first Witcher good in the year 2017 but I wouldn't bet on it.
The combat is a silly rhythm game, the dialogue is very poorly and blandly written, voice actors are awful, the quests are short and generic...
Only bad experiences with Witcher 1 here. But the person asking about it is free to choose if he likes it or not himself.
>reskin one dress
Japan reskins one characters and weebs are satisfied with that shit.
a basic whore isn't a waifu, dumbcuck
>budget twice the size of the GDP of Poland
>needs no writer because you just steal everything from mediocre books
>literally every polish citizen worked on it
>is better than some bethesda game with 50 workers
>still trash combat
Whoa, so impressive
Quest was about true love and such. Casual banging is not chivalrous anyway
You should atleast read the 2 first books, they're short stories and highly enjoyable.
So you admit it's better?
That's what I thought before I met your mother, son.
>large budget
True.
>needs no writer because you steal everything from books
Only partly true. The game writers are actually better than the senile old man responsible of the books. The game had great writers with a lot of aspect (see Bloody Baron).
>Every Polish citizen worked on it
False.
>Is better than some Bethesda game
Very true.
>Trash combat
Arguable. The combat is basic but definitely not trash. If you want to find trash combat, get to know some indie games. There is a middleground between "trash" and "excellent."
I have not played either of these two shit games
Remember when Sup Forums thought woman on the right was a tranny?
Then shut the fuck up and fuck off. Your opinion is meaningless.
No but if they did that's only appropriate stupidity for this place.
>The game had great writers
Uhh no.
Yennefer is written horribly, the lead writer himself even admitted to finding it difficult.
The writing falls apart when Geralt tries to explain why he chose Triss over Yennefer. Triss herself is written poorly, totally changed from the books and you're unable to call her out on all the shit she did.
The Wild Hunt was underdeveloped since they're taken straight out of the books.
The writing became horrible as soon as it went itno book material. That's why Hearts of Stone is so good.
>It's utter shit
>At least 3 people ITT admitted that they really liked it
>Well, all right guys, it's shit but some people may like it!
Dialogues in W1 are one of the best in any RPG I've seen, what are you on about? There are some very decent quests as well. When it comes to voice acting, well, I played with the original Polish one and it's pretty good, but yeah, from what I heard of it the English dubbing is pretty awful in all 3 games. Combat? Yeah, the system they went with is pretty weird, it never really bothered me, but I admit it's not very good
The combat is shit
t. played on easy mode
>Witcher 3 best game when Mario Odyssey, BOTW, Persona 5 and Nier Automata exist
lmao. Even Danganronpa V3 was better than the shitter 3
wish the game had the option to completely remove the gameplay
>lmao.
This is 18+ website.
You never played it anyway.
Not with that shitty gameplay. I'll stick with DD thank you very much.
t. didn't play the game
>Dragons Shitgma
>gameplay
Yeah fuck off weeb.
>Triss is totally changed from the books
The games are not supposed to be like the books. They are recreations which is great as the books are not even readable. You are supposed to judge the characters and the story in general based on what is taking place in the games.
kys newfag
She’s basic AND manipulative. Hardly any character arcs, only them forcing Gerald to change. I just don’t get it man.
Hello, I'm from Poland.
We have less to do with Germany than with Japan, please don't pile us up with Germans and such. We and Japan will be best allies soon and hopefully in a personal union with one Emperor.
Except the main quest is complete garbage. If not for the hearts of stone, everyone would've forgot about this game a year ago.
That's impossible to do if you read the books. And the games forgetting all about that is on them. Especially in the 3rd game when they are taking entire plot points from the books.
I could buy this if the games took place before the book series, but that's obviously not the case and probably for a reason.
That buzzword greentext is retarded and meaningless. The combat in DD was a million billion times better than anything in Witcher.
>be playing 3
>part where Triss is leaving Novigrad
>accidentally don't tell her to stay
>she leaves forever without me getting to see her giant tits
>have to deal with fucking Yen on Skellige for 8 hours
should I just kill myself guys? I can't believe I let best girl slip through my fingers like that.
Yen is the best and there's no argument about that. It's settled in stone.
do i need to play the other witcher games to enjoy 3?
i have read the first book and played a bit of the first 2 games but never finished them.
Not really but there are a lot of references.
>Take an established character from the book series
>Make him a completely different character
>Nah man, it's ok, the games are not supposed to be entirely like books anyway!
Granted, they "fixed" her in 2 and 3, but in 1 Triss was literally a placeholder for Yennefer, simply with different name. She even uses some of Yen's quotes from the books.
Also bear in mind that while illiterate burgers may not give a fuck about the books, in Poland(and W1 was targeted mostly for national market) Witcher books are equivalent of LotR. Practically everyone with even slightest interest in fantasy read them and lots of people still do love them, which was also reinforced by the crappy TV series. So them just completely changing the personality of a major character was really weird and unprofessional
there is a number 3 for a reason
Fuck of weeb, you have a wpierdol coming up
Woah
Incredible
*Skyrim
I'm a karav maga instructor so come at me, but yes, I like Final Fantasy and Zelda.
>no yen mommy
Yeah that is still better than mashing circle
I can't agree. It's way too focused on its somber atmosphere at the expense of dynamic content and actually interesting characters. A lot of Same Shit, Different Day with a bunch of humorless, cold NPCs. It's hard to care about anything that you're doing once the aesthetic pop wears off.
I am sorry if I hurt your Polish feelings but the game your countrymen created simply is not very good in my opinion. The dialogue in Witcher 1 is very minimalist and lacks details and spice, people talk as if they were robots or generic Super Mario NPCs while good writing makes them feel alive and uses words with a sharp wit. That came around in Witcher 2, not in Witcher 1.
I think voice acting is actually amazing in Witcher 3. English Zoltan (in W2 and W3) is the best voice actor I've ever heard.
I know Witcher 1 is adored by many but my opinion stands that it has not aged well and that most new players would not enjoy it anymore.
>cdpr
>western
Ayyyyy lmao
Try again, brainlet weeb.
>at the expense of dynamic content and actually interesting characters
You never played the game and you make it look extremely obvious.
Witcher winning GotY is Sup Forums's equivalent of Sup Forums's Hall of Anal Devestation. The game's about as old as that nardo meltdown too. Butthurt for two, going on three, years.
Mate, ignore everyone else in this thread. 1 and 2 will be hard to get into if you don't play 3 first. The first two entries are simply not as good and won't grab you.
Once you've played 3, if you enjoy the story as much as most people (the lore is honestly on par with mainstream fantasy like LOTR) then I recommend reading the books. The first two are a collection of short stories and they're seriously top notch. The writing in the five novels afterward range between average and great, but taken as a whole are still one of the best things I've read in the genre.
yen is the worst.
after finding the djinn I told her I didn't love her anymore lmao
>Yen is the best and there's no argument about that. It's settled in stone.
hunchback fags...
How young do you have to be to have mother feelings for fucking Yen?
