The games themselves, free DLC for all players of Rainbow Six Siege, For Honor, Assassins Creed Origins. Purely cosmetic microtransactions in order to provide said free DLC. Making choices like giving AC a year off to make it a great game.
When you compare what Ubisoft is doing this year compared to the lootbox micro-transaction infested shite EA and Activision keep putting out i really don't understand it. Especially Rainbow Six Siege, EA or Acti, would have killed that game within the first few months, Ubisoft continued its free dlc for all players and has gone above and beyond to actually make the game into one of the best FPS games out atm. Yeah Ubisoft isn't perfect, they have some rough launches like the For Honor peer2peer, but in the grand scheme of things and in the industry as a whole, i feel like Ubisoft get way too much undeserved hate for their past mistakes, which unlike the other big publishers, they are actually trying to improve.
Forgot about their support, a phone line and 24 hour chat support, compare that to steam and its night and day

EA is bad but that doesn’t make Ubisoft good all so sudden though.
Their games are great in some technical aspects but you can immediately sense there is no soul in them especially Assassin’s Creed, they just basically put everything popular in game. You want Dark Souls combat? We give you something like that. You want Witcher 3 open world RPG experience? We can give you that too! They ruined assassins creed. They were great up to revelations and then it all went to shit because they have no integrity they just want money. The desmond story was great but instead of ending it they just kept milking it which resulted in a shit story im no longer interested in.
Watchdogs was unplayable thats how shitty it was.
