It would have succeeded if it were Free to Play from the beginning with a founders pack $20 tops with some bullshit. We're already swamped with multiplayer shooters and Cliffy's new company hasnt proven shit yet.

As it is, the only chance is to NOT have competition. They really have to something about the art direction. With relatively fast-paced gameplay they're aiming for, distinguishing between player and background is god-important.

Make all the characters have their dicks out, including the females

That will generate enough publicity and interest it might reach 500+ concurrent players and sell enough copies to make a new game.

this game was bad because it played and looked like shit.

It was released in a market over saturated with similar games, and the characters did not stand out to anyone or gain any pop culture like Overwatch. So no.

Overwatch and Paladins are too big at this point

Yeah because that's totally why the game failed. Anyway two issues I know of are that the characters look too dull and similar and there constant "this game is super hardcore, high skill no casuals allowed" marketing which would drive casuals away even though the game wasnt even that high skilled base

the bathroom thing bothered me because the point was it was so in the future progressive that they had shared bathrooms but then why still make them gendered? wouldn't it just be a sign that says bathroom if anyone could use it?

also i think and still think that xbox would've been smarter for cliff. people tie his name to gears and that recognition would have done some of the base marketing they were going for with twitch streamers and shit more positively.

What they could do is make it f2p but make the people who bought it have some inventory item that could sell for a lot on the steam market, and develop an economy from there similar to pugb.

No. Not enough room in the market and all the seats have been filled.

Most transformation stuff ends up with identity kill or similar level of corruption/brainwashing.

Rarely get to see characters fuck around with their new forms with little to no mental changes. Jap tfs are this way especially, with male protags turning into extremely timid and demure blushing ladies 95% of the time.
