It's 10 bucks right now

I don’t know but the campaign is worth 10 bucks.
It’s actually really fun.

I'm buying regardless when Origin lets me fucking log in but still wondering if it has an active online

Jesus they fucked this game over so badly by not releasing it on steam they're bullying these fucking devs hard

When I last played Titanfall 2 around August or so, it had lows of 1800 concurrent players to highs of about 5000, one case even 11000. I havent played it recently but Titanfall 2 isnt a dead game, not a popular one but has a dedicated playerbase despite being Origin only.

>they're bullying these fucking devs hard
also they got bought by EA in the past week or so

On consoles? Definitely, nearly every mode is active.

On PC, forget about it unless you don't mind playing the same couple of modes over and over again and never be able to touch the fun modes (like Last Titan Standing) which were dead on PC even on launch. Unless you want to join a Discord and actively seek players and create groups, that is.

$10 worth it for the campaign alone. But yes, the multiplayer is still active. On console at least it is. Can't say for PC.

RIP Respawn
Probably won't even get a TF3 since they're being made to work on a Star Wars game first, and EA will probably can the studio after that

>I'm buying regardless
why did you make this thread then you fucking soy boy

>but still wondering if it has an active online
Maybe you should finish reading sentences you meme spouting sperg

I have a high protein diet and avoid soy everyday you fat little buzzword of the month spouting pudgy fuck I just wanted to start a fucking convo about it and ask a genuine question I had

>rent it for $4
>if online isn't dead, play for a month until it dies or you get bored
>if online is dead, play something else from this list
>save $6

Where is it $10?

PC is still active, matches take like a minute or less

Yes
Get it, PC is the best port

As
Said, it's one of the most fun FPS campaigns in recent years.

The state of multiplayer is attrition is the only game mode active , at least it was a few months ago, can't imagine it would change in the time since then. Go stim and the gun perk that lets you shoot instantly after sprinting, and then go fast

>Only has 1/4th of the active online modes
>better version
How can one suck PC's cock so much?

Because playing with a controller for FPS is fucking trash

I played with M&K on PS4 though?
And the game has all the same options as PC, including FoV changes, and in-depth aiming options. It also runs at 60fps

Literally no disadvantage and all the advantages (you know, the game being alive)

Because PC mouse and keyboard and NOT falling for your fucking lie is the best feel in the world
It's an awesome game

Never buy an EA game. Do not feed the beast.

>wanna buy it
>will only have money next year

Life in porverty is hell.

the core gamemodes still have a fair amount of players on PC

Console has more players?

I give them 3 maybe 4 years tops.

Matchmaking in

The updates killed it. Respawn are literally retarded when it comes to managing this game. Their gameplay department has no idea how to balance or how to make things fun without being huge clutches.

why did 2 do worse than 1 when it had a larger market?

Grapple nerf was annoyingly but I got used to it, stim is equally fun

There's still people on PS4, but PC is probably your best bet. Real great game and the last decent thing to have an EA sticker on it

yup, it's still active

The fact that stim hasn't been nerfed is fucking retarded. It's free health and speed.

Am I the only one who prefers a controller over a mouse and keyboard? There's too much platforming and wallrunning which I can't even can't even use keyboard and mouse for

I'd buy it but my PC more than likely can't run it

I have a laptop with GTX780M and an i7 4900 or something and it runs ok at medium or something. I was surprised that it ran at all, but I managed to play the campaign and then refund because I though multiplayer was dead (it was not, I just forgot to expand to all regions)

It's a Source game so it's pretty light and well optimized.

So should these be ok?

They released it between Battlefield 1 and Cock of Dooty. Fuck EA.

I'm honestly not knowledgeable enough to make the call.

But yes.

My Origin sais the game its $15 bucks.
not 10....

That's ultimate edition

No.
The Ultimate Edition is 20 bucks.

So maybe is a region thing.

just in case you think im lying.

I haven't played this since last year and I heard that had free DLC. What did they add anyway?

That's weird

>10 dollars = 10 euros
I don't think so, EA.

new Titan based off BT's chassis, new maps, co-op wave survival
personally I still want another sword titan based on a European knight but new content will basically just be maps if we get anything at all.

Should I?

Yes. Best shooter last(?) year.

What's the current player count?
I'm under the impression that it's a good game, but I don't want to play with the same vet players every match.

Also, does it have a ton of unlockable garbage that's difficult to get without paying?
Are there exclusive weapons/cosmetics/etc. that I've missed out on by not buying it at release?

FLAME CORE ONLINE

Also curious

Why do devs willingly elect to kill their company like this when they sign themselves over to EA?

They do realize EA's track record on these things, right?

I was playing on Xbone and there was around 5000 online.

DO I PULL THE TRIGGER?

Yes

Consoles = good population, low queue times, nearly all modes played

PC = nearly dead, way longer queue times, only a couple playable modes with a couple other modes that MIGHT have enough players for a couple matches per day at a specific hour (but the lobby won't still be full, get used to 3v4's or 3v3's in a 5v5 mode because there aren't even 10 players online for it) = way higher % of vets-only compared to console

>does it have a ton of unlockable garbage that's difficult to get without paying?
Progression is very well paced. There is a seperate progression for the game's online Co-op Horde mode

>Are there exclusive weapons/cosmetics/etc. that I've missed out on by not buying it at release?
Not that I know of

it's on ea access which is like $5/month

Worth it for the campaign, most multiplayer matches are packed with tryhards.

Whoever has the right to sell their company to EA gets a fat wad of cash for it.

They're probably aware that EA bleeds out every company they absorb before tossing away the corpse. Payday > making good games/staying independent/not being dissolved.

Thanks for the information. I'm on PC, so I guess I'll pass. Pity, it looks like so much fun.

I'm looking for something to replace Blacklight Retribution ever since it got fucked. Is Titanfall 2's multiplayer a good substitute?

Titanfall is fun if you like fast paced shooters.

>I have a high protein diet
Your boyfriends cum really doesn't have that much protein in it, he's been lying to you

What happened with blacklight?

Personally I wouldn't get it even if it was free because of Origin. I refuse to install any client on my PC.

But if you're fine with that, $10 is good enough for its campaign and fun co-op horde mode (please look up if Frontier Defence is still played on PC, I don't know). And the 2 modes that are played online on PC aren't bad at all, it's just that you won't ever be able to play stuff like Titans-only, Capture the Flag, or other modes that aren't the standard one.
Sure, the PC version is a desert compared to PS4/Xbone, but the little that is there is still worth that low price (altough still not worth installing Origin...or Uplay... or Steam. no game is)

Nothing comes close to Titanfall2s MP this gen.

CoD is CoD, not even worth talking about. And DICE has been casualizing its shooters since Battlefront, so BF4 is the only remotely "ok" game they've made this entire generation, but it has a horrible launch.
I'm not quite sure what else is out there. Halo5 is trash, much like every 343i game, no one cares about DooM's(2016) MP. I guess you have shitty F2P (or low barrier of entry) games like CS:GO and Quake Champions, with horrible microtransaction cancer?
That being said I forgot about Blacklight, it felt like a second-rate chinese FPS game.

I'm playing it on pc.

You get into a game within 2-3 mins. You'll see alot of the same players after a while of playing. It's not dead but it's close

t. EA community manager

>buying the PC version
L O L
Deader than dead. If you want to actually play it get it on PS4 or Xbone

The only reason you wouldn't find a match on PC is because you're in Zimbabwe or in the middle of nowhere in Australia or some other shit.

The issue isn't finding ANY match, it's finding the match you want on the mode you want to play.
Even at release 80% of the playlists were dead on PC

The devs poured all their resources into making the PS4 port for it's launch, leaving the PC version high and dry for months, then ported the PS4 version to the PC, using the recoil models for the console version. That ruined gun build variety by allowing everyone to make max damage guns with little penalty.

>Nothing comes close Titanfall2s MP this gen
I love the game but its shallow as puddle, it gets old fast.

I'd rather not have attrition be the only mode I can play.

attrition is the only good mode anyways

I was thinking about getting it as well. The impression I get though is that it's basically dead. Sucks because played it on console and it was decent.

It's not like you could get to like any other in the first place, since you can't play them.

Which shooter doesn't?

>That being said I forgot about Blacklight, it felt like a second-rate chinese FPS game.
Back in the PC beta it was great. The PS4 release totally fucked it.

Personally, I liked the idea of everyone having a "wallhack" button instead of the minimap/radar you see in every modern shooter.

I have Origin, Steam, GoG Galaxy, and Uplay because that's just how things go nowadays. I've never had major issues with any of them; the real problem is that I have to learn how to navigate each one because I can't just run all games from one client.
I would rather just install games directly like in the good old days, but it does make some sense to have a centralized distribution platform. Too bad no company can manage that sort of thing well, Valve included.

I only like BF4 more than BF3 because of the scripted map destruction and more gun customization. BF3's gunplay and time to kill (which was higher, not Cawwadoody instant-click death-tier) felt better, and I miss the unnerfed DAO-12 and SKS (slap on a laser and a red dot sight, and you have my favorite Battlefield weapon, other than BF3's unnerfed rocket launchers).
BF1 is good and adds some good features (woo, that building destruction), but it also fucks over so much... :( I think it might be my last Battlefield after seeing the direction it and Battlefront have gone in, but there are only so many PC multiplayer shooters with decent populations. I'll always have TF2, but I'll never like how fragile every class feels.

Does Titanfall 2 have bots for playing multiplayer maps by yourself?

They have bots during multiplayer games, not sure if they do it like old Gears of War.

yup
just choose the "private match beta" option

Active enough

And... Now I'm considering it again. If only it had a Battlefront 2 (Classic)-esque Galactic Conquest mode sort of thing, I'd buy the shit out of it.
Are the bots fun enough to play with by yourself? I think I spent over a hundred hours just playing Galactic Conquest in the old Battlefront games alone, though I didn't have a 1000+ games Steam library back then.

Dunno about PC, but Console is. I'd genuinely say it's worth that for the campaign though, it's quality stuff.

>TFW /tfg/ died
>TFW there's nobody to meme about Viper with

F...five by five, got you in the pipe..

>REEEEEEEEE

Cold, hard cash. Plus, there's probably an element of "We'll be the exception!" to it.

meh, the AI isn't all that engaging and even Reapers/Stalkers which are practically the top of the AI food chain serve as little more than nuisances so long as you keep some altitude on them
feels fucking bad man

>/tfg/ died
That kind of sucks, I liked the titan waifus.

So sad. They made the first FPS I cared about since, I don't know, Killzone 2? Hopefully they can still make stuff like TF3 or get TF2 on Steam or something.

Nevermind, then. Maybe I'll pester the mecha /vg/ guys to find out if there are any mech games with some sort of repeatable pseudo-campaign like Galactic Conquest. Either that, or I might actually look into Mechwarrior online.

R.I.P. HAWKEN. I enjoyed playing it around when its first beta opened on PC, but, now... R.I.P.

Man I wish they still made games with good offline modes like that. I can't think on one that came out in the last 5 years.

>that's just how things go nowadays.
It's still an alien concept to me. Good thing I mostly dropped out of PC gaming the moment it started getting shit. Settlers3, AoE, Commandos, Dungeon Keeper, Mech Commader, Unreal, MW 2+3, etc. didn't have clients.
I recall playing a bit of CS in its early days, and feeling like shit for being forced to get Steam for HL1+2 (which I always got rid of after finishing the games) but outside of those situations I never use an "store client". Of course I understand the need for one in MMO's/online games, but Steam/Origin/Uplay can all fuck right off.
Unfortunately the nightmare didn't end yet and things have only been getting worse, with PC leading the way of early access, crowdfunding and market-driven/lootbox games. Pure cancer.
Why didn't PC gaming collapse already? Only the good parts died, but the bad ones are doing better than ever. Someone please hit the restart button.

As for battlefield, it's pretty much dead for me at this point. It's more than clear that DICE only appeals to the mass market now. Looking back BadCompany games weren't even THAT casualized compared to nu-DICE Battlefield/Battlefront games. My faves were BF2+2142, BF:BC1+2 and BF3

goddammit why is everyone so useless in frontier defense? they always immediately run off to the far edge of the map on the last wave just to get 1 (one) execution while a veritable swarm of ticks is raping the generator

youtu.be/WtfLt63WWGw

I played a few PC games as a child (a few C&C titles, Diablo II, Stronghold Crusader, Warcraft II and III, Zoo Tycoon, Starcraft, etc.), and I remember them fondly.

I switched back to PC gaming after experiencing bits of the SNES, N64, PS2, Gamecube, Wii, GBA, DS, XBOX, and Xbox 360. I never had more than around 20 games for each of those platforms. Now, I've got over a thousand games on Steam because I work and Steam sales make games affordable. I don't trust any game devs or publishers, and I don't trust Valve. However, I can't stand the idea of going back to consoles— my PC isn't a piece of junk that's completely under any corporation's thumb; it's a conglomeration of hardware and software that I control. Sure, I'm probably being spied on, but no more than anyone on a console.
The game industry could use a collapse in general; the PC platform isn't to blame for crowdfunding (thank Kickstarter for that), Early Access (that's Valve's fault, but AAA developers discovered a long time ago that you can sell unfinished crap for a premium price on any platform), and lootboxes (Ogrecrotch, Battlefield, Battlefront, etc. are also on consoles).

At least PC gives you the easiest path for pirating and other free gaming content (mods, abandonware).

Tell me about it. I swear, I went away for a week, came back and it was gone.

Try getting into more singleplayer sandbox-type games and roguelikes. Isn't Unreal Tournament 4 going to be free? UT3 was fun to play against bots, and the campaign was basically a rotation of maps, modes, and bot teams.
I'm looking forward to playing M&B Bannerlord, if it ever comes out.

Reminder that EA apparently wants to keep the franchise going
Now they can twist and corrupt it anyway they want to

Where is it 10$?? It says on my origin page it's 15€.

For 10 dollars, you get a decent campaign out of it. The levels and set pieces are great, especially the prefab factory. Boss fights vary but are mostly good.

>The game industry could use a collapse in general
I don't think so. 99% of western AAA is trash,
(and I'm talking about console 1st party titles here too, especially Sony's and MS's shit), PC AA's and smaller AAA's like those we mentioned from the late 90's/early2000's are nearly dead now (sure there's still AA games like Endless Legend, but far fewer than before). However Japanese development culture is still very healthy and going pretty well, with its worst examples being the exception rather than the rule (you know, the bigger Capcom and Square AAA projects like FF15 or SF5). Amazing japanese AA games come out nearly every single month now, after their near death during the shithole that was 7th gen. I guess I feel like the japanese market already collapsed last gen thanks to Sony's PS3 blunder and the 360 shifting the market towards western tastes, as well as DS and mobile games being much cheaper to develop for compared to homeconsoles. They kinda took an exodus on those markets and came back in force this gen.

>I'm probably being spied on, but no more than anyone on a console.
Thing is, on consoles I don't do my work, watch porn, pirate, or download questionable stuff

>the PC platform isn't to blame for crowdfunding (thank Kickstarter for that) [or] Early Access
They aren't the only ones to blame but I feel like they definitely are the number one, two and three market for both crowdfunding and early access. It's so prevalent that you can't see a recent PC games list that isn't 50% filled with those types of game, or those games being the most played at any given time.

>and lootboxes
I blame PC even more for this. Team Fortress, CS:GO and Dota2 DEFINITELY lead the way to keys/chests (AKA lootboxes) before they became popular in console-focused games. The worst consoles had by that time was Sports games? But even then it was only years after TeamFort2's implementation.
