Every Marvel vs Capcom games was always so bright and fun and full of life but everything about MVCI is boring, lame and dull as shit. It's like the people that worked on it don't give a shit.

The quality in animation is night and day between Winter Soldier and Venom.

sfv had tons of issues on release but the roster size is pretty inline with vanilla versions. previous sfs have released with less. as for mvci, marvel called the shots. they were banking on the mcu to carry the game so that's why we got the really bland and uninspired "western" aesthetics. if capcom had more pull mvci could have had a fight money system in place instead of purely cash dlc. the art style could have been more lively and cartoony also.

They showed all 3 hypers for each character. And not all characters have 4 hypers outside of an install hyper. Maybe not all specials, but when it comes to Widow and Winter, low expectations were already set with what they showed.

IIRC the only real ongoing plot point related to her muslimness is that her brother is a "Quran scholar" who refuses to get a job or actually do any work/real religious stuff and her parents are always complaining about it.
