Do you like this game? I've come to realise how atmospheric it is, like holy shit. Music, level design, everything fits so perfectly
Mirror's Edge
>parkour game
>first person
What's wrong with it?
What's the matter little fella? Bad at video games?
Literally the only good video game ever made.
This is why I didn't play it too.
If somebody asked me to post the vidya closest t being called an art I'd show them Mirror's Edge
Mirror's Edge 2 never
Have you considered gitting gut ? Or perhaps a suicide
Mirror's Edge Catalyst exists
The most fun I had with this game (and also the most stress) was picking a song for a segment and syncing up all of my movements, both fight and traversal, to the song.
yes
The only FPS with deep enough movement mechanics for competitive racing.
It's fun and unique, time trials had many secret shortcuts to be explored, some really obscure
used to be one of my favorite games before i realized gameplay matters too
beautifully realized visually, actual cool environmental storytelling, shit gunplay that nobody wanted
parkour feels good
TF2, TF2 and Tribes all have deep enough movement mechanics to hold races
No they don't, mirrors edge gives you different speed of traversal based on when you interacted with an obstacle/how far you were
Some movement combos were extremely difficult in complicated terrain
maybe tribes but that's more rocket jumping autism not movement mechanics
Have you even played titanfall ? It's all about momentum gained from short wall runs and slide hopping with perfect timing
titanfall is a fucking multiplayer sandbox, where the fuck are you gonna race in that?
same goes for tf2 and tribes
you never even mentioned titanfall lmao
newsflash tard, map design is just as important as mechanics, only mirrors edge has proper races
Which is a reboot not a sequel.
Newsflash tardy TF2 stand both for team fortress 2 and titanfall 2
Another one, you never said anything about maps, only movement mechanics
Third one team fortress actually has custom maps designed with traversing them fast and they can be played with other people allowing them to actually race
Fourth point, there's nothing stopping you from racing with your friends in a multiplayer sandbox anyways
It was okay, it kinda reminded me of a first person Prince of Persia Sands of Time, but with the tendency for more horizontal level design.
literally
>hurr durr my favourite physics based shoota has custom rocket jumping content gotem
>there's nothing stopping you from racing with your friends in a multiplayer sandbox anyways
the game isn't made around it, it's autism on the same tier as larping
>team fortress actually has custom maps designed with traversing them fast and they can be played with other people allowing them to actually race
rocket jumping through a linear shitfest isn't all that great, mirrors edge had hidden ways to shave off time, team fortress 2 is more refining your autism by playing the same section a million times, like speedrunning
>you never said anything about maps, only movement mechanics
yeah who cares, race in counter strike, who needs good maps made with racing in mind
the gunplay is shit but there is hardly any of it
Stupid story
Shitty cutscenes, like those old esurance commercials
Incredibly short
any of it is too much. the final mission especially was stupid as hell and they should have ditched player gunplay altogether
Holy shit I just realised there's a new mirror's edge and I've yet to play it.
The first one was amazing.
Is the 2nd as good?
I bought it when it came out on PC and it's one of my favorite games. I never cared about how short it was because everything else about it was perfect and I still had tons of fun playing it repeatedly.
Catalyst is okay, it falls for the open world meme though, a little into the ubisoft formula with the icons in the open world
>I never cared about how short it was because everything else about it was perfect
is game length really still something people give a shit about
>not completing the final mission without using any guns
When it came out it was $60, 5 hours long, and not much else to do besides that campaign and time trials so if you didn't love it enough to play it over and over again that's pretty shit.
people play through games once, don't bother going for 100% and then complain the game is too short
If you go for all the trophies + DLC in Mirror's Edge there's at least 30 hours of content
wasn't mom sjw involved in this shit???
Yeah, I think it had a very interesting premise and pretty good execution. There's not much else like it, either. I had a good time with it.
It has the most sterile animations, platforming feels robotic and not satisfying at all, Ubisoft open world, a fucking skill tree, third person glory kills, and even more forced combat after they said there wouldn't be forced combat.
not as good as the first but still worth checking out if you liked the first (it's cheap now too)
ok so that's a problem with the price, not the length
