It is quite good, yes.

it's in my top 5 video games of all time and all I do is play video games

if you're trying to play through the game before XB2 comes out just know it takes at least 100 hours to complete a run

Yes. I'd recommend you emulate it with enhanced visuals though.

It's alright. Really shows it's aged nowadays

no it's phenomenal

shitty wow clone with weeb shit added. don't play

Quite possibly the single most overrated game of the decade.

Quite possibly the best game of the decade.

How's the N3DS port ?

Lmao if wow had combat as good as Xenoblade I'd still being playing it

Really?
I was under the impression that it took a long time to do EVERYTHING, but the main story is on the shorter side, between 25-30 hours

Ruins the experience. You really don't get that sense of scale on such a tiny cramped screen.

Also the graphics are considerably worse looking.

Not horrible but the 3DS isn’t really suited for this sort of game. Do try play the Dolphin or Wii version if you can.

Cool environments, good music, shit everything else

lol'd.

I absolutely love it, and I DO think it's one of, if not THE best JRPG of the Wii/PS3/360 gen.

But that is mostly by default, because there weren't hardly any good JRPGs that gen.

Like seriously, what's this game's biggest competition? Mario and Luigi Dream Team? Lost Odyssey? Ni No Kuni? Come on.

Bad, just emulate.

Kinda sucks.
But then again im a ds player so what do i know

lol no. Its like 60 hours just for the story. The game is fucking huge.

Really solid. Obviously worse textures and resolution, but otherwise it's great, especially if you value portability

I skipped a lot of side stuff and I finished it at 90 hours. Final few bosses gave me a lot of trouble.

No

I logged 80 hours and then continued to play through NG+

TWEWY, souls if you count those as jRPGs

post yfw Shulk goes murder mode for the first time

>souls if you count those as jRPGs
Souls is incredibly JRPG and if you're retarded enough to think otherwise, you don't play many JRPGs.

this game aged like fucking milk

The character models were pretty bad even then

any recommendations on which settings I should use?
last time I tried it gave me random stutters and dipping below 30fps
>i5-4670k RX480

Turn them around, the artstyle and land draw distance is goddamn gorgeous for the fucking Wii.

Maybe raw story and mandatory shit with as minimal gameplay as possible, sure. Speedruns are about 5 hours, though not sure if that involves skips.

My own amateur "quick run" was 8~ hours on NG+, skipping cutscenes and shit like a regular speedrun.

What an amazing VA performance.

Post favorite track.

Shulk
>18, an adult
>genocidal, can wipe out the entire mechon race with his monado
>can use it as a giant lightsaber all by himself with no help
What does that queer kid Rex have on him again? God Xenoblade 2 looks shitty.

Why did she have to suffer so much AND as the cherry on top have no hope at winning Shulk?

Pyra, who literally destroyed the world before.

>gentle kawaii gurl is actually a superweapon
*YAWN*

This one is underrated.

I swear to god Rex better go edge or I'll be super disappointed.

...

How is that any different from XBC when the Monado is the superweapon?

Because she should have gone for Dunban instead.

Dunban probably goes on to fuck Vanea

it's good, a game where the technical limitations actually improved the end product, now this series is ANIMU UGU crap

the gotyay

>small town boy literally had a God living inside him that allowed him to yield a weapon on unimaginable strength

I think the 3DS version is pretty good

...

Playing on Dolphin with the HD texture pack, Xbone button pack, and the 60 FPS AR code. It's pretty good. Too many shitty sidequests, though.

Me too but don't say that to graphicsfags

Mechanical Rhythm and Mechonis Field

I'll never forgive Zanza for destroying it.

>it's a "collect 6 of this untradable item that has a 2% chance to show up at 3 spots during night" quest

T.Graphics fag here. You are allowed to have your opinion. Now get out there and play some Nintendo Switch you rascals.

Masterpiece
Hype for XC2

>you will never experience those night time transitions for the first time ever again
X was cool but it never had anything like that.

>grapchics
>switch
Top kekarooni, XC2 will be the worst one.

You moron. Go back and read my comment.

I disagree

Sylvalum night and day isn't that different from each other. Nothing like Satorl night and day. And the environment doesn't drastically change like Valak's crystals lighting up either. Even that song is just a faster paced version of the day music, instead of something completely different like in Satorl or Valak.

It's a good 40-hour-game in a 60-hour-game. I was frequently underleveled if I didn't do some of the "6 rabbit eyes" side quests. Still definitely worth playing for the voice acting alone.

Reyn is best character desu

Why are you dumping XCX shit in a Xenoblade Chronicles thread?

Robutt>Melia.

someone redpill me on this game

is it ACTUALLY fun, or is it a waifu simulator? the combat looks like brainless hack n slash. is there actual strategy to fights?

Fiora is precious

The story is surprisingly good, characters are similarly surprisingly well written, the world is incredibly vibrant, and the music is phenomenal. The combat is good, but has about as much depth as something like an MMO like WoW. Characters will auto-attack given time, and the player is able to move the currently controlled party member as well as queue up special attacks. Attacks are effected by your positioning (behind an enemy, to the side), party members all have their own role/mechanics, and some fights can be a legitimate challenge when managing various status effects, ways to stunlock them, where your character should be positioned, how to manage aggro, and more. The combat is good, but not necessarily anything amazing. If you hate the autoattack stuff present in shit like WoW, you probably won't like what XC has.

The bad parts of the game is that the combat isn't the only MMO-esque thing to it. The areas are great looking, but pretty open and empty except for enemies. Quests are mindless most of the time and give so little guidance that finishing a decent chunk requires a guide. Graphics are iffy even with a good art style. And there's plenty of bullshit that you can attribute to an MMO-esque game, like an enemy sending an attack your way while your running and it following you for like a minute.

Good game, but it has issues. Worth it if you just want a good JRPG.

Why is she so perfect?

She suffers so much.

>open and empty
stopped reading there. the environments in XC are perfect. areas have their own little ecology, there are tons of hidden places to explore and the size gives the game an unprecendented sense of scale. the game is the opposite of empty and you have to be a mouth breather to want a sidequest or minigame after every couple of steps.

I didn't say I wanted a side quest or mini-game. In fact, there are too many side quests, so that would make it worse. Don't get me wrong, I was the type of person who enjoyed exploring shit like WoW's generally empty/barren world. And XC has a world packed with unique enemies, items, and little secret areas to find. But it's still generally very open and doesn't have much going on. Most secret areas you find just have a differently named enemy that will drop generic armor or items. While pretty sometimes, they aren't that interesting. Size does give scale and an initial burst of excitement by the idea of exploring everything. But there are plenty of areas where that mystique wears off and you realize you're just trekking through the same looking environment for a while. The most interesting area in the game is weirdly enough Mechnois Field due to the verticality and how you need to interact with the lifts.

Places are visually interesting, but gameplay-wise you're just kinda walking from spot to spot killing re-named enemies.

They are empty. The "ecology" of every area amounts to no more than some monsters wander aimlessly over here and some different monsters wander aimlessly over there. The hidden places are pathetic, mostly just little caves or alcoves off the main path with your only reward being more pointless blue balls than do nothing more than give you fluff text or complete a sidequest. Speaking of blue balls, they are pretty much the sole reason to do any exploration whatsoever. I don't understand what kind of fucking mongoloid you have to be to be impressed by a slightly pretty expanse of nothing.

Oh how much I wish for her to be a playable character on the next Super Smash Bros.

Sylvalum Night was one of the only tracks in X I actually liked

So can you give me an example of a game that provides the player a big, open world, while still having tons of content so it doesn't end up being empty?

I remember there was one hidden area in the High Entia Tomb that gave you an Advanced Art Book in a chest, and its basically the only kind of reward like that hidden in the entire game. There should have been more of that
