So, what's the Sup Forumserdict? Should I get it or ignore?

If you have played and liked the Souls Games and Ninja Gaiden, you'll like Nioh.
If you like the 'soulslike' genre, you'll probably like Nioh.
If you like actiony loot RPGs, you'll like Nioh.
If not any of that then pass.
What about PC version? I heard the port is shitty.
Just finished Mission 5.
Everything looks the same: Cave level, village level, poison level. Enemy variety and level design also suck. Also item managment.
But fuck, the combat is so great. Best I've ever played. That's why I'll finish it.
Bosses are a lot easier than in Dark Souls so far
Zero mouse support. Playing with keyboard only is a nightmare.
Basically don't bother with this game if you don't have a controller.
I'm 30 hours in and so far I've had one crash and two noticeable framerate dips
Runs fine
It's like a slightly retarded version of dark souls with shit art direction and bad graphics.
also plays faster, and is easier because the dodge window frame is huge.
i uninstalled after 20 mins just from experiencing the twitchy movement, animations suck balls.
you wake up in a prison.
gook souls
How does the sword skill that puts you into Iai stance after a ki pulse work exactly? Just press B too/right after the ki pulse?
I thought that people that played action games with a mouse and keyboard were only a legend.
>the weakest in the entire series
>Sup Forums loves it
>Sup Forums also hates DMC
Sup Forums has such shitty taste
>Sup Forums hates DMC
say what nigger
...
Started it a couple days ago. Help me git gud Sup Forums.
Running a katana, I'm still confused by the stances. In which situation should I use each stance?
Also, should I use a secondary melee weapon? Which one complements the katana?
I like to use it after a parry, Ki pulse(right bumper)+B. if timed right you will pulse and immediately sheathe, then can let a quick slash rip if you have the other skill
quick tip, turn off console, throw game away, buy better games
>turn off console
I'm playing it on PC.
>the weakest in the entire series
What?
Low stance = quickest attacks, lowest damage, fastest dodge
Mid stance = wide attacks, moderate damage, slower dodge but can still double tap to roll
High stance = mostly focused and slow attacks, highest damage, can only roll when dodging
You decide when it's best to use which stance. Experiment with what sort of attacks and skill you have for each stance and when it's best to use them.
I thought it was something like that. All right, I guess it's all about practice then.
I wrecked in pvp in all the dark souls games with a mouse and keyboard.
I hate contollers.
Souls games absolutely BTFO.
Yes there are flaws and stuff but it's so, so, SO MUCH more fun
>tfw Kusarigama
It just tears through everything so easily.
>kusa
>lightning effect
>mystic art that increases metal weight damage
>stay in low stance all day erry day killing everything
They don't stand a chance.
>mfw a kusarigama with huge ki damage against electrified enemies drops just before the electric dogo fight
>high stance kusarigama heavy attack from far away
EAAAAASSSSY MONNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYY
Apart from mouse support the port is fine. I sometimes crash during cutscenes though.
Pro-tip: Dump Dex, use Iga set, use shuriken, kunai, storm kunai.
As soon as you get the first Ninjutsu Dojo mission you can farm it for the full Iga set.
>Dump Dex
You're not using that term correctly.
>DOUBLE DUBS
I would love to see that actually, I'm not a fan of controllers either and could never get around that for DS and just used a controller.
Err. Dump points in Dex.
>end up killing jin hayabusa like 100 times to get izuna drop
>its for 1kat only
FUCK
Question, what's the point of farming for sets when they get outdated so fast?
Soul matching armor is ridiculously expensive so you can't use them for too long
I agree, the combat is great
after getting used to ki pulse and the mechanics based around it, stance switching and weapon skills it's difficult to go back
sets don't really matter till you hit level 150 gear
Its great imo, but I really wish they didnt go with the Diablo loot shit.
Specific and static or lootable corpses like in Dark Souls is imo much more fun
I've seen someone beating DMC4 on Dante Must Die with a keyboard.
I remembered playing Sanic Generations with that too.
Because set bonuses. But really, no need to really bother with it in NG. Just use whatever works best with your build.
the bonuses they give are really strong
you have two opportunities to farm iga at different levels, you can easily clear the game with the set at that level ((I think it's 60ish) but if you're constantly farming revenants, you'll slowly get iga gear your level
once you hit NG+, you'll be able to start investing in gear without having to throw it away
Thanks
I want to get bitten by her
Iga set bonuses are bullshit for Kusurigama/Ninjutsu build.
The 2 piece bonus alone gives you 1/3rd of your ninjutus items back every time you activate living weapons. Use fast guardian spirit like bat and you basically have infinite ninjutsu and great damage with everything.
Jorou-gumo is better.
Just a reminder to Sup Forums that I killed her first try
I don't see the point of ninjutsu/ommyou for anything other than buffs for now
I'm still on NG, around level 85, and I feel the same. I've invested only in poison buff and fire buff, then used my other points for passives. Between living weapon and tonfas shredding everything in the game, there's no need for shurikens/kunai/magic.
Imagine someone mashed souls and gaiden together to make something that isn't nearly as good as either.
I guess that is good since you may want a more rewarding experience for first playthough.
I played on PS4 and decided I wanted hilarious first time experience on PC and did Iga/Ninjutsu.
I kill most bosses about 10 seconds after entering the boss room. Kunai damage is out of control and storm kunai on any larger boss melts them in seconds, especially from behind.
>tfw upper stance axe chad
Yeah I'm gonna be a cool fast ninja man! Ended just using a big ass axe the whole time. Why do I do this to my self.
did not even know this going in, no wonder I'm not having problems.
I was like these Kunai seem strong as fuck, most of the time when the yokai face you, you'll get a headshot knocking them on their asses.
the paralysis gas, turns every revenant battle into joke.
The poison gas kills those big one-eyed oni everytime without fail, same with anything poisoned
Those storm kunai are fucked up too, the only boss they didn't fuck up so far was the big water blob deal, and even then if you hit the weak points it still hurt him.
onmyo elemental shots can instantly inflict discord with enough magic or a status ailment augmentation or two
they also give a shit load amrita gauge build up when paired with extraction talismans, two shots being enough to full charge guardians with a good gauge rate
ninjutsu shuriken, kunai and storm kunai rape the shit out of everything when you're spec'd right
lots of bosses get 1-2 shot by storm kunai if you have stacked damage from behind
lol
>Spoiling the game for yourself.
What a faggot.
How did I spoil the game by killing her first try
I wasn't using sloth and hadn't grinded at all, I just ended up killing her first try
Really good game that falls flat halfway through when you figure out how the combat system works. Level design is bad. Mission based story is bad. Loot system is bad. Combat gets annoying with two or more enemies.
Not even close to Dark Souls in terms of fun.
>Combat gets annoying with two or more enemies.
Fucking lmao. And you dare pretend you've figured out the battle system.
Haha
>Level design is bad. Mission based story is bad. Loot system is bad.
Literally all of this is subjective.
