That game literally solidified my hatred of EA

...

Not enough microtransactions?
No traps?
Actually strong female lead?
Awesome gameplay?

What was it that got your weeb kickers in a unch?

...

It's a shame there'll never be a second Mirror's Edge game, but at least I can watch EA shoot the industry in the face as payback.

Well, there's Catalyst, but most prefer not to talk about it.

unironically Bloodborne

Gravity Rush

>3mb png
ffs

>The huge fucking hype EA payed for but absolutely didn't deliver on

>The potentially amazing art design that ended up too sterile

>The awesome gameplay concept that was turned out to just be an obstacle course

>The fact that it only offered 2 hours of game with zero replay value

Yeah, mirrors edge could have actually been good, instead EA shat out an expanded demo.

Catalyst is just $5 right now

I converted it from an uncompressed bmp screenshot desu. Worth it.
Also free if you have (((Origin Access)))

Catalyst looks even better, too bad every aspect of the game that wasn't aesthetics or "flow" was just backwards retarded

And I still want that PS4 preorder theme... fuck them for not putting it on sale later, I swear to god it's the only time EA doesn't want your money

Technically speaking it is better, but I prefer the art style of the first game. Just too flashy and with less appealing colors.

>2 hours of game
Yea, nah, fuck off with that bait

>bu-but if you played it on easy and have a walkthrough running meanwhile
Just fuck off

Ah so you're just complaining because it wasn't the latest CAWADOODY in a brown and bloom hellhole.
Not everyone can have taste user.

aand here comes the shills
>abandon thread

>Shilling for a crashed and burned IP

That's some fucked up paranoia

>Crashed and burned
I wonder why
>EA
Oh yeah

bump because I love this game

Catalyst was nice, the only group of ppl that didn't like were those whose couldn't even understand the first game mechanics and talked shit about "delivery missions" as a bad thing (which is the entire premise / first game)

I just bought Catalyst, been playing it for about 3-4 hours now and I like it more than the original. Running around an open world for the sake of it/finding things has been fun in its own right because the movement is as fun as it ever was, I'm confused as to why it's worse. Granted, I was never very good at ME so maybe it's a skill ceiling thing? Does it shit itself later on or something?

One day I'll train all Sup Forumsermin in the art of knowing when things exist and when they do not.

Bump

>a game's only worthwhile part is it's art design
That's really sad.

The problem with Catalyst for me is the lack of focus and level design. But maybe I need to dive into the game a little deeper.
Not the case with the first game, but even if it were, why would it be sad? You know Crysis?

Most people didn't catch the whole being a "runner" thing, that's why

No, but it is pretty.

But what's the appeal of Mirror's Edge if not running? That's like it's entire thing.

>But what's the appeal of Mirror's Edge if not running?
Yeap, but the first Mirror's Edge was a niche game, released in a time before the whole "new gamer" thing.
I mean, the first game had beautiful visuals, decent soundtrack and gameplay mechanics, that's it. Catalyst delivery more of the same, that everyone wanted.
I guess those people only like to complain about EA/Origin and shit, millennials idk

>In June 2013, the executive vice president of the EA Games revealed the game has sold "about 2.5 million units".[82]

?

>The potentially amazing art design that ended up too sterile
That's the whole fucking point of the setting. A safe city that is clean but has no life.
>The awesome gameplay concept that was turned out to just be an obstacle course
Oh wow, a parkour game is about maneuvering through a course of obstacles ? Who would have thought ?
>The fact that it only offered 2 hours of game with zero replay value
Not 2 hours but yeah it's way too short.

Fucking sad that ME2 fucked up everything now. Let's hope the modding scene for the first one doesn't die.

lots and a couple of them have even been good games too

at 60m

Dumping more screenshots.

To this day I find it hard to believe that people actually made modding possible for this game. Although most user maps are kinda crap except for the great one here and there (Stratocubulus is still one of the best things ever created)

Borderlands 2 had that futuristic colorful distopia theme to it with the hyperion tech shit and stuff.

Antichamber to a degree

I got the point of the setting. It was all just bleached. Felt like being in a hospital

Linear pathing in a game where it was obvious someone wanted to have more free roaming but was cut short. Felt constricted like a platformer

It took me 2 hours and 40 minutes on normal on PS3. And just because it was normal difficulty is no excuse for how painfully short it was.

Not in any way a terrible game but it fell way fucking short of anything it could have been which was disappointig as hell

Is there any real world places that looks alot like Mirror's Edge setting?

Check your nearest hospital.

Again I remind you, that's the fucking point. It's all sterilized. No life, just security.
What are you talking about free roaming ? The main aspect of this game is to replay the levels, each time finding a way to be faster.
Still agree on the short length. Doesn't help that most of it was wasted on shitty slow puzzles like the whole sewer section.

What about the outdoors?

Maybe not as white (both literally and figuratively), but you can take a trip to UAE and check the city of the future.
