Are there any MMOs out there that haven't been completely "solved"? I'm talking about games that haven't been datamined/researched to death and still have content that is actively being discovered.

most likely not.
I know what you are aiming for OP. But to play in a community you must know there will be people that will be there just to tryhard to the max and if means skipping the journey of discovery so be it.
Look for a singleplayer game that interest you and make you playthrought blind. If is company you are looking for then look for a co-op, MMOs ain't worth it if you are for the journey.
I don't remember the name of it but saw it discussed here a while back...
There's some MMO with a secret room that can only be entered after a ridiculously high level is reached. Some dude played for 11 years and managed to enter it but never shared what was inside.
Maybe another user will know what I'm talking about and know more.
Tibia
it's 2017, of course not.
autists ruined gaming.
Fuck why is this so true and why does it hurt so much
We have the algorithms to counter it through obfuscation and asstons of hidden variables/stats, but we don't have the internet bandwidth or server infrastructure. As long as calculations are done locally the players can figure out what's going on under the hood - no exceptions.
it's like when people clamor for WoW spec trees to come back, but they'll copy builds from fansites anyways. It's all a sham, mmo's are dead.
Now that wikis exist, third party marketplaces and internet improvements in general, autists can minmax asap. And to remain competitive, the others have to follow suit.
That's literally impossible today. People don't care about exploration and discovery in multiplayer games anymore, they just want to rush through all the content as fast as possible so they can get to do end-game shit for no reason other than the fact that it's "end-game."
On top of that, thanks to the general connectivity of the internet and how everything is amassed into few places now, that means it's not little individual forums figuring shit out and passing the info around among friends, it's now "quickly rush to reddit to tell literally everyone you discovered THING and exactly how to do/get to THING."
EVE, kind of. The community's autistic enough to have researched everything to death but because the game's completely focused on player generated content you will have all sorts of different experiences if you try to find or create it.
This actually just makes me sad
Thanks user, I've considered picking this up just because of the player driven nature. Are there any other games that are similarly player driven?
EVE and Runescape are the only MMOs I've played so I can't really give a good answer to that.
That chinese isn't correct.
I'm curious now, what does it actually say? I've got tons of comics saved from this artist that I presume have absolutely shitty English translations
FIRST BOOGIE NOW TB NOOOOO
>spend years upon years making a good game that has a secure backend and networking scheme, while promoting both party play and actually good grinding instead of endless linear quests
>or make a game in less than 3 months and rake in the money
hmmmmmmmm
>Game about goblins
>Its Limbo style gameplay where the community must solve puzzles and shit to progress
>Re:Monster style leveling where you eat to get attributes and levels mean nothing other than evolving to your next stage
>Can't progress past certain parts without help from the community and if the community dies the game does too
That's my current design plan for this MO. Not MMO. Would be F2P. Traits are like kill gnome 10/100/1000 for 2+/3+/4+ STR and ability to use gnome magic type thing. Kill a fish and breath underwater. I'll be spamming it on Sup Forums when I'm done. I only expect 50-100 people playing at one time. Less than that the community won't progress.
Well it's Korean so that seems reasonable.
Sounds fun user. I'd definitely give it a play.
