Video games that absolutely blew their second chance.
Video games that absolutely blew their second chance
Sonic Forces
HD wasn't perfect, but it was a step in the right direction and just needed more time and money. Then this thing hits the scene.
Battlefront 2.
Neptunia, Senran Kagura, Modern Madden releases, Dishonored, GameStop online, and Walmart online.
but the neptunia games get mechanically and graphically better with each game
you can't tell me RB1 is better than VII
>mfw skateboarding is at another peak of its popularity, and not even a whisper of a new Skate or at least THPS taking the concept and doing their own thing with it.
I will never play as Riley Hawk in his dads game.
The Evil Within series.
Might want to switch to reddit if you're gonna post the most obvious shit in the world and hope to get recognition for it.
Smash4
He's right though.
>release nu-battlefront 1, a watered-down sci-fi battlefield game with not even half the features of the games released years prior
>nu-battlefront 2 adds some of these features back and then fucks you in the ass with micro-transactions for things such as what heroes you get to play and their abilities
They had their second chance and they fucked it up.
Tribes: Ascend
Battleborne
Evolve
Killing Floor 2
Street Fighter 5
Battlefield
Battlefront
Every WWE game since 06
All I can think of is Dark Souls 2's Scholar rerelease not really properly addressing the game's really unpopular flaws and overall making the game even worse.
>Runic makes Torchlight 1 and 2, both are met with praise and popularity
>Runic announces Hob
>Runic, along with Hob disappear for the next several years
>Hob releases, Runic forgets to tell anyone at all
>It quickly becomes apparent that they forgot to make the game fun during that span of time as well
The entire game feels like turning on a bunch of machines you don't have the owners manual to and looking at pretty things, that's it.
I dont know if this entirely counts, but I think it's impressive how right Runic managed to get things at first only to turn around and fuck it all up for themselves that goddamn badly.
Was that only the second?
In a way it's sort of a sequel to Sonic Generations or Mania technically.

Thanks for the recognition user.
>THPS5 goes into the shitter
>any hope for a new skating game is pretty much gone
>suddenly Decksplash appears as a decent mix between THPS's territory modes and Splatoon
>it gets canceled because it """only""" had 50k players instead of its target of 100k despite no advertising whatsoever
I guess THUG Pro is going to be it for a very long time
I know it's the first post but god dammit they couldn't even wait til next year to find a new way to make sonic terrible again.
I just want THUG Pro to do another content update. We just need the 2X HD maps and we're set.
The mass effect series
I didn’t expect Andromeda to be good, just better than the fucking war crime that was ME3. I guess that’s what I get for being hopeful.
Riley is actually an amazing street skater in his own right though.
The dream would be him getting his own game series with a fresh studio that isn't Robomodo.
I know, holy fuck he's insane. It would just be like, some kinda circle of life shit
He wouldnt do it, he doesn't skate contests so he has to really on street skating and video parts to make money. He's different from his dad. Skate 4 would be ideal for me, or at least an actually good HD remaster of THPS 1-3.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2.
LoS 1 was mediocre. LoS was fucking awful.
Battlefront II (2017)
To be fair, it was their third chance.
Destiny.
