I was talking about this with a friend recently and as much as people like to joke about TF2 being a hat simulator that has a FPS minigame, there's some merit to that statement. I liked playing TF2 for the FPS gameplay, but I also spent significant time fucking around in Mario Kart servers spamming taunts and emotes and talking to others in chat. Overwatch is a straight up FPS and is much better mechanically than TF2, but it feels less fun if that makes any sort of sense

I'm not playing it right now because I can't afford ps plus and I have a PS4, that's it, that's where my interest in vidya games will live and die. Might get a ps5 tho.

I think the game is fun enough but it seems like the dev team is incompetent. They are letting social issues affect gameplay. Willingly admitting embarrassing flaws like, Genji double jump being knowingly fucked, not being 100% sure about any character's abilities, ie. mercy, & d.va ..tracer I guess has been untouched. They just seem so candy assed when they shouldn't be. Being shaky about your belief system encourages me to lose faith in it.
I do sometimes want to play it tho.
