Fallout

ANGRY MAILMAN SIMULATOR

Why the FUCK is this game so god damn fun?

Fallout NV was the last time I was truly addicted to a video game. Everything since has been a few minutes here, an hour there. Nothing comes close. I still have so many playthroughs I want to do, specifically a survivalist who doesn't use medicine and technology (gonna use the hiking backpack mod so I can cook and set up camp anywhere)

fucking this.

It is complex, yet simple enough that you don't have to invest too much time into it to know your stuff and have fun. The many multiple paths many quests can go also can have you coming back to the game after you finish it.

it would be if it didn't crash every 5 minutes.

Even on Windows 10 this game does not crash unless I fuck something up really bad. Where the fuck are you trying to run it?

Obsidian took the turd that was Fallout 3 and gave it a compelling world to play in.
>tfw Todd Howard is too jealous to let them ever make another Fallout game again

more like
>Jewnimax said that if the game didn't get an 85+ metacritic Obsidian wouldn't get more money
>game scored an 84

It's a shame Bethesda is so fucking shit at using their own tools and engines.

So are there any mods that add a radio filter to the stations from the Pip Boy? It always sounds so weird that some of the vocal tracks are filtered but the songs come through pristine from an ancient piece of shit on your wrist.

Im actually kind of new to the game and i love it more than 4 (with mods of course). any tips?

I find it fun to role play, stick to a set of guidelines for my character. How he'd act, what kind of items he would and would not use, etc. It's more gratifying to play than a jack-of-all-trades playthrough.

Skipping from Goodsprings to the strip through stealth is some good shit

i guess you can say he really went postal

...

>mfw going to the Divite early
>mfw getting a flare gun
>mfw going to the Strip without sneaking, just firing flares at every deathclaws that come close

>Finally decided to play this game after years of seeing it shilled on Sup Forums
>It's fun
>The characters are well written and enjoyable
>Solid RPG
>Jingle Jangle
Who does Fallout 1 & 2 compare to NV?

*how

fallout 1 is solid, 2 is shit

only play them if you enjoy isometric RPGs with tabletop rules

is half full of shit.
Both are good. 2 starts off much worse than 1. Don't expect them to play anything like NV.

They are both really good, F1 is one of my favorite games of all time, super concise, its like long enough not to feel short, but short enough not to feel like a drag. Lots of replayability too.
F2 is alot more bloated with content that just doesnt match what made the first game so great, but its still definitely worth playing. Lots of people still think its better than the first game though.

Stats are shit. Most have very limited use and you can't be a jack-of-all-trades.

>finally decide to finish the game after 150 hours of playing
>already getting ideas for another playthrough
How can I want to see all this stuff again? And this soon?

i agree that most of the stats suck (doctor and gambling, seriously wtf) but not being a jack-of-all-trades is a positive for replay value

i love jsawyer because it brings that back

Ps3, don't laugh for too long.

I clocked 200+ hours in it myself, I honestly don't know HOW the fuck I put up with that shit, just goes to show how much I liked the damn game.

>village with no defenses
>next to deathclaws
>next to cazadors
>compelling world

>>next to deathclaws
What do you mean that mining place?
Those things showed up recently if you played the game and listened to the npc's they would tell you this.

they could have done worse with the trash they were given. the beth model of making a yuge open world just forces you to deal with pathetic miniatures of the actual details like you're in a blown up version of a thumbnail of the real map

also the scripting potential in gamebryo was aids
I'd like to see how someone would handle a single city the size of their entire overworlds in creation engine instead of capital cities feeling like the back corner of a street market

I only own the base game on steam should I pirate the dlc files from a torrent(you can download individual files) or just download the gog version, at this point I have nothing installed so everything will have to be downloaded from scratch.
