Elder Scrolls Online

Does anyone on Sup Forums play ESO? If so is it a decent time sink and has it improved since launch? I'm tempted to pick it up on sale

they have a general in /vg/, so yeah, people play it

also it may be sold even cheaper from some of their retailers on Black Friday, and never get the Steam version if you can help it.

it's the best MMO out atm, best PvE and PvP, and easily the funnest MMO to play solo. Also has more story and better voice acting than regular ES games. Get that shit while it's on sale

>ESO
>best MMO
How can you be so retarded?

Any of you rpfags on eso? Is it any good for muh fantasy

I said best CURRENT mmo, retard

It's not you retard. Even Wildstar is better than this shit.

Even Rift is better with all it's pay to win bullcrap

I enjoy it. I haven't played other MMOs, so I have no standard to compare it to. There's no mandatory subscription fee, and the game always goes on sale for about 10 Burgerland Fun Bucks. I say get it if you're curious. As said, don't get the Steam version. That's a mistake I made.

It's pretty good, had a weak start, but they've fixed most of the biggest issues long ago. I would say that right now it's one of the best MMOs on the market
It actually has some pretty decent quests, exploration and writing for MMO standards at least, so I would say yeah

>ESO
>pay to win
Oh, so you haven't played it and you're just shitposting. Move along lads

I spent about 3 months playing it. There is a lot to do and its very free to go to any zone you want and just start questing.

I agree with I its most definately the best current MMO. I got bored of both Legion and FFXIV in less than a month. Thats still not saying much though as the MMO standard has sunk so low.

>Does anyone on Sup Forums play ESO? If so is it a decent time sink
It's pretty bad, but it's the third most popular MMO in the west for a reason. Basically no competition.
>and has it improved since launch?
Immensely, but it was awful.
>I'm tempted to pick it up on sale
Don't buy on Steam.

>There's no mandatory subscription fee
Unless you want to be endgame competetive. You don't though, the endgame is a joke. Still, the sub is pay to win and that needs to be mentioned.

The PvP is great the rest is meh to decent.

I said Rift is pay to win retard
And eso is pay to win you need to sub to get end game stuff

>reading comprehension

Shit, forgive me, I just woke up

It's okay dude
Everyone makes mistakes

OP here, I'm curious - why what's up with the Steam version, is something wrong with it? But yeah I would get it retail if I was going to, they're it's very cheap

>two dead games are better than a game that's still flourishing
weak bait

Steam version is fine

Been playing since launch on Xbox One. It had about as rocky a start as it did on PC, but man it's good now. Love it. I play a Dunmer Sorcerer, lots of summoned daedra and a little battlemage flair here and there. Recently came into enough gold to buy the Dremora race, been playing like that with the drunkard personality. Velhk Sain would be proud I think.

>pay to win because you need to sub to get end game stuff

Then its just free to try user. It isn't wrong for the game to make money. If by end game you don't realize you want to pay for the game, you probably shouldn't be playing anymore. Personally, I think most f2p games should work on this model. They thrive on letting players try the game out for any amount of time, until you get to a specific point at which you have to pay.
Games that do this tend to be massively less gay in the other f2p market pitfalls.

broken combat system that the devs refuse to fix and call a feauture

Rift is not dead retard
And I bet you think sfv lol ow pubg and aqw is good faggot

But it isn't free to try. You still have to pay for the base game, there is just no mandatory subscription any more.
Still, I do think it's fine since this additional content is just DLC and the base game has so much content you can easily sink hundreds of hours into it without ever buying those

>"I-I'll bet you have opinions about video games!!"
stay mad faggot

Ah, my mistake. I thought it went fully f2p. Honestly never paid much attention to the game.

But yeah, if you can get hundreds of hours of content from the game before needing to sub? I really couldn't care less.

Rift is pretty...deadish mate. You cannot deny that. Many areas are barren of players outside of a few. Game is a hollow shell of what it once was.

>need to sub to get endgame stuff
Why are you making shit up?

this game has a grindy end game? i really like games where i can be extremely powerfull by throwing 7000+ hours doing the exactly same raids for equipment, don't judge me, im a little masochist

i have some money for teso and the subscription, is it worth for a grinding addicted like me? or i should just stay at tera

bump

Steam version locks you into the steam platform. You are at the mercy of steam sales, which only happen periodically. Meanwhile, if you buy it elsewhere, you can buy it anywhere and it'll work. Amazon sale for the base game? Grab it. G2A for the morrowind expansion, then get the miniDLCs via their in-game store. Steam restricts you.

Yes and you don't really need to sub unless you want to grind faster(only on low lvl) and extra bank slots.

but i really really need to grind for equipment or is just an extra? i want to be the daddy of autism

asking this because i had a bad experience with gw2 endgame

Best PVP MMO right now: Blade and Soul
Best PVE MMO right now: FFXIV
notice how ESO is not on this list.

That bridge is a waste of materials.

but for blade and souls you need a literally 1 ms ping. I think you haven't played it, you're just shitposting

To be fair, MMORPGs are dead anyway. Asking for an all around good experience with the genre is basically impossible.

Played and enjoyed it for a little less than 100 hours. PvP gets boring fast because it mostly relies on zerg train over and over. Also it's really hard to perform well in both PvE and pvp content with the same character.

>Steam restricts you.
This is a complete lie though. Steam uses the ESO store, only thing you can even buy off Steam are crowns and the Morrowind expansion.

Literally playing it right now, I live in Texas where the servers are, you paranoid projecting fuck. L2P

that's only you and a few more of people, think about the playerbase that has to deal with the pvp without a very low ping in this game. Isn't just recommendable at today internet standards

>Best PVP MMO right now: Blade and Soul
lol

It's improved a lot over the past 2years but still has hiccups. At the moment, there's a bug that sticks you in long load screens that force you to close app. Won't be fixed until the 28th.

Other than that, it's a great mmo that's worth trying. More so now that it's on sale

>I live in Texas where the servers are
uhhh...Wouldn't THAT explain why it runs well for you?

Alright, what's the best PVP MMO then?

You too fuckface

How autism you want to be? They are more end game than gw2 that's for sure I know this because I play both.
Yes you have to grind for equipment and they happen to be set too.
They are dungeons and raids and then the veteran version of them.
The market is unique but try not to join in hard core market guild, you'll get kick if you aren't active in the market for just a week.
Also player house is pretty huge time sink and gold sink too.

The best PVP MMO is admitting that MMO style PVP is almost always awful and ditching the concept.

thanks user, last cuestion, you need certain type of equipment for entering a raid?

"H-heh I didn't expect a (you) so I'll be an asshole just like my favorite anime character!"

>almost a half hour later
>"y-y-you too"

Last half decent attempt at a PVP MMO was Darkfall and that game was far from perfect. DaoC being probably the best overall experience for PVP.

He's right though

>it's the best MMO

it's a fat chunk of SHIT is what it is

Complete failure as an MMO, complete failure as an Elder Scrolls game

Do you pay once or is it a subscription type thing? Also are imperials playable? I thought I heard it needs a dlc or something

I have other things to do like cooking for Thanksgiving
And stop being a hypocrite it took you 10 minutes what excuse do you have

Pay once, subscription gives you some bonus stuff and access to all DLCs, but is completely non required.
Yeah, Imperials require a special edition or something.

I had the base game like a year or two ago before any DLC came out. From what I remember, it was like a multiplayer Skyrim. The game with like all the DLC is on sale for pretty cheap and I might be interested in it if it's fun but the problem for me is that I don't have friends and I'd be playing on the PS4. Does it work as a single player game?

Well you can play it solo and it's even somewhat enjoyable, but it's still an MMO, it will never be as good this way as simply a dedicated single player game

You should definitely try it out, the base game is dirt cheap and contains a fuckton of content; the DLCs are nice but not required. Moreover, I think they have or will have a free-to-pay demo or something soon.

ESO is good for exploration and quests. Combat is "floaty" and not everyone's cup of tea. PvP is loads of fun as well (ok, depends on your class). The endgame PvE is shit, though.

For normal raid it's more like 12 men dungeon so not really but for veteran version of it you better be well prepare, all your gears are max upgrade and with the right set to boost your status, potion/food, know the mechanic.
And as always veteran raid = better reward.

Is Dragon Knight or Templar fun in pvp?

I want to be an Orc but it seems they got fucked when it comes to passives.
