It's basically Persona 4 with better QOL features, which may be more or less a lateral move from P4, but in this day and age, when high-profile RPGs can't keep to one fucking GENRE from one sequel to the next, the fact that this game is recognizably a Persona game from beginning to end, in 2017, is a goddamn miracle.

The dungeon design sucks, the translations are sub par, the characters aren't fleshed out enough and are even more tropey than before and not in a good way, Morgana is the worst shit in existence, and the story and pacing sucked. Villains after Kamoshida are all shit

The fact that this game is an improvement in every way while still keeping the soul and everything that makes Persona games Persona is a fucking miracle when every series try to "get the wider audience" by going open world or trying some other AAA memes.

Persona 5 is a shitty game as a whole, and is only good if you compare it to its even more flawed previous installments

The game dragged on like ~40 hours too long, and they ran out of new story ideas halfway through. There is no reason for the game to be so long and the story pacing to be so slow

It also pushed you into doing the dungeons harder in the span of one day, I felt so much pressure having to do the dungeon, an dyou could NOT finish the dungeons in a single day, you could only get as far as to deliver the card, which was annoying, and then wait till the next day instead of just going back after handing out the card.

i did not connect with the cast as much as the ones from P3 and p4. the dungeons while best in the serise play it to safe with safe rooms. it should have less safe rooms had secret paths you had to unlock to easier and safer go through the Castles.
