FFXV is finally redeemed

Comrades is a truly impressive game. Thought I’d never say this, but I am officially a FFXV fan again. All is forgiven. Well almost everything. (We shall wait and see how the VR fishing turns out.) Sure Comrades it’s no FFXIV, but it’s not meant to be. The extra polish they put into crafting this expansion is remarkable, which is chock full of fun, engaging and immersive content. I can’t imagine how Tabata and his team have so much skill to develop an incredible multiplayer expansion while improving the base game with free updates and DLC.

should i buy the season pass then?

this shilling really smells.. I see you hiding behind that container user

i was just asking if it's wort 25 eurobucks

Nice try ffxv employee, youll never get my money

It'd be great if it wasn't a fucking loading screen simulator

not really, there will be a second season pass anyway, so I'm sure you'll be able to get both for a 30 buck deal.

>I can’t imagine how Tabata
>he doesn't know

I don't know if you'd think the DLC character missions are worth it, but you can pick up Comrades by itself for 20 bucks.

Comrades is shit lol

>Decide to play multiplayer with friend
>multiplayer cut scene literally spoils entire story for single player
>every single detail
>lose interest in game
>never actually play multiplayer

I guess they won, they have my money.

git gud

FF XV + season pass is on sale for 30 eurobucks right now, should I take the plunge?

how much do you get paid for this shill?

it's just 5€ more, maybe I'll buy it.

honestly yeah I'd pay that much for it

>have to pay for base game
>as well as DLC which is completely disconnected from base game with shit like gameplay, plot since it's OC and other things
>plus PS+ until PC version releases
It doesn't redeem the game, but it shows what more effort can do to XV, a game of wasted potential

Sorry, but it's still trash.

ayy

Couldn't agree more. I'm glad they got rid of the open world exploration, story, characters, and music. Those were easily the worst parts of this game. Every day when I get home from work I immediately go into Comrades, hold down the circle button and tackle hunt after hunt. It makes me feel good to know that other players are having the same fun by doing by holding down circle. In fact if holding circle is too complicated, you can just mash circle. The different ways you can approach combat is so well thought out by the developers. Furthermore, the story in comrades is amazing. I can't wait to see which city I need to provide electricity to next! Then when Gladious showed up unexpectedly at Lestallum... what a twist! Truly worthy of sitting alongside classics like Moby Dick. Finally, the upgrading system is amazing. It's so addictive to play the same hunt over and over again 100 times to get a strength +5 item. So deep.

To people thinking of buying this game: don't buy it. It isn't worth $5, it is bad in every respect and there are no redeeming qualities. When Conan described it as "an aggressive waste of time* he was actually right. You will be nothing but disappointed if you buy this game. unless you are a retard loser with shit taste that thinks Naruto is good

if you faggots are going to leech money from xiv can you at least spend it on something good XV was awful

get fucked.

xv comrades is a better multiplayer ff than xiv

>unless you are a retard loser with shit taste that thinks Naruto is good

epic post dude ;)

Comrades is boring repetitive shit.

Well there are people STILL mad that their dark and edgy sasuke final fantasy game was axed for this mess so there'a definitely a crossover with Narutards.

it's true though, the only people that will like this game are people with terrible taste that most likely watch a ridiculous amount of bad anime

The intro is what got me into the game.

Such a brilliant way to start a game. Love the simplicity in it, it emphasises how much more grand the journey gets and makes sense from a narrative perspective to start things off from an equilibrium.

(To all the people who wanted Vs 13’s Insomnia Attack intro, you probably don’t understand what goes into making an actual good story.)

What polish? Comrades full of glitches that sometimes make it unplayable

The Stephen King allusion with stand by me was also cute.

Idk. I actually think that Comrades is the best FF designed in terms of the gameplay side. They kind of need to remake the core game, because it's a serious mess at this point.

>clusterfuck of bad hit properties and enemies not balanced around multiple players
>redeeming anything

Go to hell. Comrades is worst FFXV DLC.

>I actually think that Comrades is the best FF designed in terms of the gameplay side.
>Comrades
>better than V, IZJS/ZA, or LR
What are you smoking

>V, IZJS/ZA, or LR
sbk91 spotted, all we need now is xv-kun and the epic battle can begin.

>LR
Poor man's VP that people fap over for no reason
>Zodiac and not OG XII
Cmon.

[spoilers]X-2 is the ultimate FF in terms of gameplay[/spoilers]

Sorry, but I'll take an enraged Noctis slaughtering his way out of a city than pushing a car and meeting a random hillbilly prostitute who asks you to go kill bugs in a field.

The intro to FFXV is fantastic because it perfectly sets up Noctis’ personal journey. Instantly the player can identify with Noctis’ happy-go-lucky character trait as he sets out for the open-world. When Regis dies, this trait naturally devolves to an angry Noctis. Not just angry because his father died, but because he was left out in the dark his whole life until he suddenly gets thrusted into this predetermined path of life.

Nothing we see of VS 13’s intro indicates any of this.

Furthermore, XV’s intro does in fact establish Noctis’ friends (his key relationships). This is showcased by some of the very first lines of dialogue:

Gladio: “We’ll see the king to Altissia if it’s the last thing we do.”
Prompto: “Yeah. What he said!”

This instantly sets up Gladio as the headstrong, confident and loyal friend. This contrasts Prompto’s insecure response - emphasising that he may be in over his head and/or that he doesn’t quite fit with the rest of the group.

When they’re pushing the car; Ignis: “save some breath for pushing, please.” - this instantly shows that Ignis is the level-headed one in the group. A perfect way to set him up as an expert strategist later on in the game.

>Poor man's VP
LR's real time elements are a million times better than VP, and more importantly it doesn't entirely revolve around passive abilities like VP2 does.

>vanilla XII
>better than IZJS
Are you retarded.

>Original XII
>over IZJS
You fucking what. No opinion can possibly be this shit.

>all boards have a billion str and mp boosts
>everyone can just spam spells all at the same time
>baby difficulty
Terrible taste

>baby diffuclty
You fucking what
Vanilla XII has full HP phoenix downs

Nomura's XV
>the land is split between two mob factions warring over the magic crystal, Lucis, who worship the pantheon of death, and the Nilfgaard who worship the pantheon of life

>Noctis is the hotheaded playboy son of a ruthless mob boss who dislikes the idea of having to run it and deal with all the bullshit politics, and Stella is the daughter of the rival gang leader

>because Noctis suffered a near death experience together with Stella as children, they can use magic, and see & communicate with the dead

>because Noctis has the hots for Stella, her father proposes a treaty sealed by the marriage, but it's merely a ruse to kill Regis and steal the crystal

>betrayed and enraged, Noctis and his party of Lucis' top killers slaughter their way out of the city to take revenge and to get the crystal back, fighting multiple enemies and bosses along the way

Tabata's XV;
>You begin the game by pushing a car to the tune of stand by me
>You never see Insomnia get invaded, it happens in a shitty movie
>Regis is a generic king who appears in the beginning and dies off screen, you're told of his death in a phone call and then you go searching for rocks for Dino Cappuccino
>kill some bugs xD

He said Zodiac retards not IZJS.

He is completely right, Zodiac dumbed down the game and made it piss easy.

Letting you pick 2 jobs already made it shit by removing the weaknesses the characters had in IZJS which forced you to change your party in order to make one character cover for another characters weakness, instead in Zodiac age you can make for example a Black Mage and then completely cover his ass by making him monk too.

Then not only that, but they rebalanced the difficulty and instead of upping it in order to cover for the fact they let players have 2 jobs they actually made it easier, making enemies hit softer and have less hp.

Fuck off.

>all boards have a billion str and mp boosts
>STR and MAG cap at the same point
>no damage cap rendering everything not named Masamune useless
>everyone isn't a melee healbot
>this is a bad thing

>everyone can just spam spells all at the same time
>in IZJS
Oh so you are retarded.

Why would you buy DLC for a game you never even finished?

>I can’t imagine how Tabata and his team have so much skill to develop an incredible multiplayer expansion while improving the base game with free updates and DLC
Was this really necessary? Did you honestly feel you couldn't complete your post without putting a tiny yellow cock in your mouth? And how the fuck can you "not imagine" someone being able to do their fucking job?

>To all the people who wanted Vs 13’s Insomnia Attack intro, you probably don’t understand what goes into making an actual good story
Establishing a main character, his key relationships and background, leading to the inciting incident that revolves around the loss of his home and the death of a relative, where we can guide him through the process of seeing and dealing with the destruction directly, vs an intro that does very little, if anything, to establish who the main character is, who his friends are, where he's coming from, and what's important to him, where he gets chucked out into an open world and spends an entire chapter doing fetch quests that have nothing to do with the rest of the story? Only for the story to suddenly demand you mourn for a man and a city you barely got to see in the game?

>He is completely right, Zodiac dumbed down the game and made it piss easy.
I'll take easy and interesting over 'everyone heals and autoattacks with katanas' any day of the week. Also, Weak Mode says hi.

>Letting you pick 2 jobs already made it shit by removing the weaknesses the characters had in IZJS
Except even with two jobs there are still tradeoffs to every combination, unlike everyone being able to do anything.

>then completely cover his ass by making him monk too.
Monks don't have heavy armor idiot.

>but they rebalanced the difficulty
wut

>tfw I loved XV, and if i state this I get called XV-kun
Unlike XV-kun though, I acknowledge the faults with the games. XV-kun thinks it's the best FF, it's not. Not even close.

>wut

Speaking to Polygon in a recent interview, producer Hiroaki Kato stated the goal was to somewhat re-align XII with the rest of the series.

“We overhauled the game balance so that it would be easier for players closer to the feel of a classic Final Fantasy title,” he said.

>ffxv kun
What the fuck is this faggotry

>You know what FF needs?
>MULTIPLAYER

XV-kun is a guy who claims XV is the best game in the franchise, and that it has no flaws. I've also seen him mentioned on: Sup Forums, Sup Forums, /r9k/, and /vg/ before

It was alright, but I had a lot more fun with World of Final Fantasy, probably because of all the nostalgia bait but still.

>We overhauled the game balance so that it would be easier for players closer to the feel of a classic Final Fantasy title
>says nothing about making it easier or changing anything stat-wise

newfag

>game you never even finished?
I guess square enix aren't the only ones who didn't finish XV

>3rd birthday

i will never not be fucking mad

Just a reminder that NA PSN is having a sale on FFXV + Season pass for $30. There are other Black Friday deals out there for just the base game for less if you just want that.

>literal shills on Sup Forums

wew

I wouldn't even pirate this trash SE shill

I want people to discuss Comrades with.

>repetitive missions that you are required to grind
>plagued with long loading screens
>combat is worse than the main game
>buggy as hell
>constant server issues
>cant directly invite friends to your lobby
>confined to tiny outposts
It's shit.

An australian who's been shitposting about FFXV since early 2014.

It's shit. Discussion finished

>2014
lol

this. the novelty wore off for me extremely quickly, its just a bad game.

Actually the combat is a step sideways but generally better than the main game
It IS buggy as shit. And what's with these loading times. It's like I'm playing bloodborne.

Buying it tomorrow, looks fun.

Your shill is showing, XV-kun.

>early 2014.

>sticking it to shitaku
was he /ourguy/ all along?

Jesus fuck it goes that far back? I was still in the service when he was shitposting about this trash.

No

footage from Comrades looks like they did fuckall to fix the combat and it's $20 for this

Nothing can redeem a game that is just a bunch of demo sections stringed together, with an underdeveloped storyboard as the main story. The game is missing 1-2 years of development, and nothing they can do now will fix it.

I assume that the expansion was constantly delayed in an attempt to fix the issues, but they were unable to fix it due to the Luminous Studio engine being garbage.

>What the fuck is this faggotry

a shitpost that will detrial threads to talk about how great FFXV is when people talk smack about XV.

He accuses people shitting on XV as "one samefag from gamefaqs"
Posts cherry picked webms of him sucking and dying on purpose when people rightfully claim that the combat is Hold O

too bad you can't get the season pass on it's own.

>The game is missing 1-2 years of development

which is sad because his mess was in development for 10 YEARS

Shhh, last time someone said that XV-kun woke up and spent the next four hours trying to convince everyone that it only started development in 2011.

and he was wrong the entire time and the shitpostind was eventually deleted

Can you play as, see, or interact with Aranea at all? If not then Episode Prompto epsiode remains the best.

Not true! But it is true it's plagued with all sorts of problems:
>global instead of regional player pool
>bad networking
>buggy as fuck
>very long loading times
>poor QoL

These are ABSOLUTELY issues with Comrades. If you can't stand any of these, it's definitely not for you. But it's definitely fun. At least for me. That's how these things go. Like, how people find Pokemon games fun is something I'll never understand.

She pops up for one mission and then is an NPC in the HUB that says a few things.

I'll play it but I really only want to play as Iris, Luna, and Gentiana. Can we do that yet or are we still waiting?

Pretty much. I just want a thread where there can be rational discussion, which only happens in a blue moon at this point.

XV-kun doesn't shill exactly. He'll defend the game and tabata, bash nomura, go on and on about the most minuscule shit in the game and say how it's so much better or whatever. He doesn't actually push you into buying the game...at least I don't remember him doing that. Mostly the autistic arguing part is what he does the most.

yes he does

no he doesn't

What kills me about Comrades is that the problems that were in the beta are still very much in the released version.

I need the to fix the bugs, put more of the Lucii in the game, and cover that back portion of the World of Darkness.

...

You potatochip American.. this old faggot you mentioned has nothing to do with gaming. Production department had the shitty idea of gaming corner, pandering to retarded normie scum, so that their late night show wouldn't go bankrupt. These faggots don't even know how to hold a fuckin controller.

I was enjoying it a lot but I fucked up and burned myself out on hunting quests. By the time I actually tried to finish up the story I reached the "linear part" of the game and it got real boring real fast. I'm thinking of coming back to it today though.

Eh, maybe you should put it off until Episode Ignis drops.

>What kills me about FFXV is that the problems that were in the beta are still very much in the released version.

Fixed it for you, bro

>XV-kun thinks it's the best FF, it's not. Not even close.

he thinks it's a flawless masterpiece and doesn't understand how Metacritic works

are the individual episodes worth it? I dropped it before then.

I appreciate the chest hips and rear sliders
At least someone there knows what he's doing.
