there's DLC operators, you can save up and buy them with in game currency or just buy the season pass. the base characters are perfectly viable
just DON'T BUY THE STARTER EDITION. it's faster to grind the real life 20 dollars than it is to grind for currency in start edition

Yeah you need the starter pack with some kind of year pass to get a bunch of operators off the bat, but the starter pack at 50% off plus paying for a few operators to start with doesn't end up being too pricey.
