It's the sole reason I got my Wii U in the first place and why I still own it. It's one of these games that I'll replay every other year as I love everything about it. The characters, the humour (yes, even that Tatsu is for eating), the gameplay, the exploration and world setting and the music

They won't do it. It will be about either Japan or France's ark and their struggle for survival. They'll probably have their own version of Elma and Lin that will be foisted on you and the game will end on a similar cliffhanger. I hope you're looking forward to XCX3.

Bought my WiiU on a whim to play together with my brother on a vacation. Didn't enjoy a single modern game I played on it and thought that I might have gotten too old - at 39 - for vidya. Then I found this game and did 380 hours in roughly 3 months. It's the game I never knew I wanted. Play a class you don't know inside out and don't mix classes. Adopt your playstyle to make up for the the class' flaws.

At the start of the game, the Earth is caught in the crossfire of an intergalactic war and destroyed. The humans were forewarned of the coming conflict and launched Project Exodus, leading to the construction of large space ships used to take as many humans as possible off planet. Each ship hosts a living quarter inside of it for the skeleton crew charged with piloting and defending the ship until a safe haven is found in which to take the bulk of humans aboard out of stasis, these quarters are based on the Earth city the ship was stationed in. Xenoblade Chronicles X follows the events that happened to New Los Angeles' crew after they crashland on an alien planet, but throughout the game we come to learn that the arcships from Tokyo and Paris also managed to survive and escape Earth.

I wanted to feel a little no so alone and be able to read messages from other humans and make it feel like an online game
even all that information meant something, and you saw all that during battle
still never remembered what most of those status ailments meant

If your talking about the story it's nothing special the side quest are way better.

I want to see a spin off that's totally out of the blue. It would Nintendo's first dive into an online FPS too.

It could use a lot of fleshing out, but you know even after the world is destroyed, humans will still be fighting each other. Especially since it wasn't the best and the brightest that survived, but the rich and well connected.

Does emulation help with the pop in issue that game had? I loved xcx but god it should have been on a much more powerful system.

put 350 hours into it, played pretty non-stop until february/march to get 100%.

It's been fixed. It works fine in 1.11 but you still have the occasional purple textures, and the shit that was bad on the original hardware (bad sound mixing, pop in (especially in NLA))

Xenoblade Chronicles is about a fantastical adventure on the bodies of two giant gods as you go on a quest for revenge against an army of genocide robots.

I just finished XC1 after starting it almost 4 years ago. One of the most satisfying things I've done in a long time is finishing it. I started it back up 2 weeks ago after not playing for a year so it was hard to get back into, but worth it for sure. If you haven't even gotten to the Bionis Leg you might want to just start over to get back into it again.

I'm talking about gameplay. I haven't played any battle system like this. I may not be a game journalist or DSP-tier, but I don't have a huge diversity in video games.

So what's the problem? Just read what stuff does and do it. There are tutorials too you can look at whenever.

1. After targeting an enemy and initiating a fight, your characters will start auto-attacking
2. You'll also have access to your "art palette", a selection of special attacks that work on cooldowns like in an MMO, these attacks have a wide variety of effects and attribute. For example, Back Slash will do extra damage if you're positioned behind an enemy, Slit Edge will lower enemy defenses if used on the side of the enemy, Shadow Eye will lower your aggro and raise your attack, etc.
3. By using arts properly so as to trigger their special effects (lowering defense with Slit Edge, etc.), and by successfully completing QTEs that happen when a party member crits, misses, etc., you'll start filling your Party Gauge. This gauge has 3 bars, and you can use 1 bar to resurect a dead party member, or all 3 to launch a chain attack, in which you take direct control of your entire party to dictate their next attack, allowing for greater combos. One of the main combo is the break -> topple -> daze combo, in which a character breaks an enemy's stance, another topples them to the ground, and finally you daze them to prolong their down time. A toppled and dazed enemy will be more vulnerable to attacks AND won't be able to retaliate

Not that guy but I like sidequests just not at the expense of the main quest. That main quest was so bad. I also hated finding the data things while exploring the world and not being able to do anything with them until you get to main quest that deals with them then watching helplessly as they explode.

Thanks. I might pick this up tomorrow if I remember. It's been 2 years, so maybe I wasn't having trouble and was simply just distracted by other games.
