Start the emulator, go into settings and under system turn on cheats.
Next start the game you want to modify, press esc and select cheats from the right menu. Next select edit cheat file and copy and paste all the codes in there. Save the file and close it. Next select cheats again; if you did it right the cheats will appear as a list of options.

If you have a way to load emulation software or isos onto your psp, sure. But the visual improvements and 60 fps codes will not work, just the base game with english patch.

So I'm just playing VC1 now, on like the third mission or so, the one after you find the tank. Man it's easy to die in this game, I've GAME OVER-ed three or four times in this mission. One time the emotional impact of Alicia biting it was ruined when her corpse ragdolled through the air like an acrobat, I laughed for like a minute straight.
It seems random whether my dudes will duck down when they're fired at and behind cover. Also grenades don't seem to do anything to tanks? I tried positioning Alicia behind the tank and chucking one at the big blue weakspot but it only seemed to damage the tracks. Do I really just have to sit and wait behind the sandbags right at the start because moving to the ones across the road got me killed and since there's no way of defeating the tank do I have to wait a certain number of turns to wait for Eidelweiss to show up?

blow up the sandbags on the other side of the street, then position your scouts behind the sandbags in the fort, all soldier should die to interception fire.
The game told you there is no way to kill the tank and you need to wait for the Edelweiss, pay attention because this is going to be a common thing for the rest of the game where if you dont read every and take it in you have no chance of winning
Grenades are shit against tanks, it shows a triangle on the effectiveness chart next to armor which means it's ineffective.

You do have to wait for the Edelweiss to show up at I believe turn 3, yes; that early in the game it's the only thing that can actually compete against the tank. When I played I left the town watch where they were and sent Alicia up the hill; it allowed me to kill a captain and grenade the group of soldiers hunkering down at the sandbags.
Man I fucking wish this game didn't only factor turn count for ranks. All it does is promote scout-rushing. Hopefully VC4 doesn't do the same thing.
They made some changes in the sequels, although turn count is still real important.

IMO that mod goes too far and fucks with things it shouldn't. A simple mod to reduce scout damage and nerf orders slightly would have sufficed.
Yeah, I hate this stage score system. It works for action games a lot better than TRPGs. Instead stages should have hidden objectives or someshit. Like in SRW or SDGGG for example.

OK, I'll try that. I'm kinda getting the feeling from this game that I got from Advance Wars, namely that I'm going to struggle a lot.
Is this the kind of game where only one good strategy will pay off and sub-optimal play is punished, or does it have more flexibility with regards to fucking up a lot? I remember I gave up on Dual Strike after reaching a mission where you were going to stop a rocket taking off and it got to the point where I was following a walkthrough and reloading a save over and over trying to get the right result on a combat round.

VC3 is superior to the first game in many ways. Namely characters, balance, and amount of content.

You can still complete the game playing with a mix of units and using the tank (most missions will give you 20 turns to complete, which is more than enough time), but it's not the optimal way and therefore you won't get many, if any A ranks.

Depends; in terms of units you'll get a squad of max 20 people when you get to the capital you can pick and choose from and switch weapons; if any of them fall in battle, you have to get another of your units over to them to call for a medic to safely evacuate them; having an enemy touch them or leaving them for a few turns will cause them to die for the rest of that playthrough (they'll come back New Game +). The only exception are story important characters who just "retreat". You can also call up anyone in your squad to join the battle from a camp as reinforcements, and also retreat certain units from said camps or by using an order and you'll unlock more people to choose from as the story progresses as well. Other things that might fuck you over are enemies ducking your bullets, lucky shots from lancers/tanks/snipers, getting too near to tanks/enemies and eating a ton of interception fire and trying to do everything perfectly for A-ranks (wait for NG+ to bother with A-ranks)

These will be the "main" characters. While they do look less uniform than say Largo and Rosie, I still believe the rest of the recruitable squad mates will be in standard uniform.

Dude the characters in VC4 are teenagers too and they dress worse than even VC2 characters.
Not him but I don't remember VC1 being anywhere near as full of heavy handed DRAMA as that trailer implies. The cast are just a bunch of snotty kids and the character designs are way worse. So no, it's not back to that style at all. Yes, at the same time it's also not as terrible as 2, 3 and Azure Revolution but that's not exactly a high bar to jump.

I got a D-rank in the first mission. I doubt I'm ever going to get an A rank to be honest, it'll be a miracle if I finish the game. I just got to the turn where you get the tank, destroyed all the sandbags but the shock troopers still killed Alicia.

Honestly to me VC2 looks less retarded at least from what I played of it. At least them being teenagers made sense since they were still in school. It doesn't make any sense now in this new game. It just looks like everyone is a teenage soldier.

I'm counting on it being the Darcsen and Doggo being killed. The darcsen will sacrifice himself to hold off the enemy after shit goes south later in the game, and the Dog will either be picked off by a sniper to show how heartless the enemy is, or will attack an enemy soldier (most likely a shocktrooper) before they shoot one of the main characters, who will shake the dog off and shoot him before he turns to the character he was going to kill, who shoots a gun they got hold off while the dog distracted the soldier.
Gallia forced their hand by being selfish dicks. The Federation was completely in the right. Gallia wasn't able to defend itself against the Empire, and when the capital fell, the Empire had their superweapons and ragnite. That burden on the world ends up being borne by the Federation. The Federation wanted diplomacy, but Gallia forced their hand by being an easily taken strategic target and refusing help.
You can do sketchy things but still be the good guy.
