DOOM guy

Lester

Why did this guy even exists, did they seriously thought "Hey you know what this tense first person shooter with horror elements needs? That fat guy from Jurassic Park!"

To piss you off and invest you more in the game because of your hate. Same thing with Eric Sparrow

...

Disc 2 Aeries.

It's called pacing, user. Norton was used to break up the tense parts to keep them from becoming monotonous.
Good suspense uses troughs to make peaks even higher by contrast, assuming it doesn't clash too badly with the mood.

easy

...

What the fuck was this guy's problem?

Also why was he in the expansion out of fucking nowhere?

>Good suspense uses troughs to make peaks even higher by contrast, assuming it doesn't clash too badly with the mood.

This pretty much. There is a reason why all Easters eggs revolved around this guy or were pretty amusing in contrast of the horror mood.

Probably Kefka.

All of them because they're all pussies.

>What the fuck was this guy's problem?
He's working for the evil corporation, so it makes sense that he tries to fuck you up.

>Also why was he in the expansion out of fucking nowhere?
Doesn't really matter. The expansions are apparently non-canon for some reason. I didn't find that out until I was done marathoning the trilogy, so I thought Jin being alive in FEAR 3 was just another example of the new devs not giving a fuck about the previous games. That said, FEAR 3 is still terrible.

It's because Monolith, the developer of FEAR had parted ways with the publisher, Sierra, and the publisher retained the rights to the franchise. Sierra got some other devs to make the expansions. Years later Monolith was working on a spiritual successor to FEAR. Because they hadn't made the expansions and the game technically wasn't a FEAR game they ignored them. Warner Bros., the publisher for FEAR 2 (which at the time was called Project Origin), actually managed to get the rights to the franchise from Sierra, hence the game wound up being FEAR 2 afterall but it's not in continuity with the expansions. This is also why FEAR 2 is a whole new cast.

And then FEAR 3 was made by a different team altogether, who weren't involved with any of the previous games, and who made it play like Call of Duty.

The history of the FEAR series is kind of a clusterfuck.

...

Apparently it's even worse than that. FEAR 3 wasn't even supposed to be FEAR 3, it was some unrelated sci-fi shooter that Warner Bros. was publishing and they decided mid-development they wanted it reworked into being a FEAR game. Supposedly the game was originally just a typical Doom/Half Life/etc. thing about scientists opening portals and bad things coming out, hence the teleporting enemies in the game that are never explained.

I believe it. The game does seem like it doesn't know what it wants to be and doesn't understand the FEAR series's history. It honestly feels like an empty shell of a game.

Any female protagonist

Shut up retard you have enough trouble fighting diabetes.

All of them and none of them. Because they don't exist.
