IMO, the issue with Pyra's design is the amount of skin exposed. Not the boobs.
A big chest like Pyra's isn't inherently fanservicy design. Girls sometimes have that, it's just life. It happens.

But the amount of skin exposed in random places of her torso + her short shorts? That's a deliberate fanservice aspect that you can't get away with. It just doesn't "happen", battle damage aside.

So... personally, if Pyra was more covered up, that's all she needed. Something like the last party member in XC1 uses by default is what I'd go for.

Not that I don't appreciate a design like Pyra's in a vaccum, but... it doesn't go hand-in-hand with her personality and role (for now, at least). It feels out of place, like it's there just to bait certain demographics into getting the game just for that, or something. To me, it detracts from the whole package a bit.

If either her character or her role were suited for a fanservicy design, then maybe it would fly. There's that old problem of exposed skin and female warriors, but eh.

I'm conflicted. The world, characters and story are 10x better than XCX, but the gameplay looks 10x worse.

The combat system is insanely fucking slow and everything takes ages to kill even if you are higher level than it. I was really excited for this (I actually love the new animu designs), but the combat system looks like complete shit.

Only the blades seems to have fanservicy designs. Unless I am incorrect I don't think any of the humans or other species have fanservicy designs which is kind of strange.

For me, it's not the amount of skin exposed. It's that her outfit is so intricate and armored in places, and other places there's just no outfit. What even is that? Who would make clothes like that kek? It's still a nice design, but it's obvious why most of the outfit isn't even there.
I think there's sort of an in-game explanation though. Her "core" is the most vulnerable part.
It looks out of place but I'm already getting used to it. I mean, she's cute as fuck. I understand how fanservice can be annoying and distracting for some, but so is a lot of things in games. Everything is not all necessarily meant for everyone to enjoy.

I was hoping Malos would become playable, but he seems way too relaxed about murdering Rex for that to be the case. I wouldn't be surprised if Mythra kills him right after she transforms.

The amount of waist exposure differs a bit and that's probably the main problem with the Pyra haters but Mythra is exposed more, overall.

From the spoilers I saw, I actually liked it. It certainly beats a lot of other storylines I see in video games. I hope to god the spoiler for the ending isn't true though, gonna cry rivers if so.

I didn't realize this until we saw her in action more but she's actually got a really striking design. The combination of the exposed back and the weird ribbons flapping around is interesting.

Maybe its just the angle but Pyra's skin stands out more, zoomed or at a glance. Might be the colour contrast as white and blonde meld well together.

It is kind of funny about the complaints regarding Pyra, but I guess the black skinsuit puts so much emphasis on her chest that it looks like some big boob window, even though Mythra's is exposed in comparaison.

He's the one constantly regurgitating the same talking points to try and portray Nintendo games, and in this instance XC2, as some big blunder. Like saying how Xeno games were never anime and XC2 ruins evertyhing, comparing it with Tales or Star Ocean games, and lying about how previews are negative and stuff like that.

I'm out. I just want to say it's been one hell of a ride up to the release of this game. From initial hype at the reveal, to a slope of disappointment at E3, to middling out at the september direct, back up after the XC2 direct, then even higher as we get closer to release and previews are coming out and the music sounds fucking amazing.

Everything has been against this game. Two years of development? No way can the game be good. It took Square Eenix a decade to make FFXV how can a studio several times smaller make something like this so fast? It's gotta be rushed shit, right?

The designs are bad? A respectable opinion IMO, until you see them in motion and to me they're by far the best in-game character designs we've had in the Xeno series since Gears.

Hell even the voice acting sounds decent, and I had no fucking hope after that E3 trailer.

This is the most hyped I've been for a game in 10 years since the lead up to Brawl, and now I'm out to avoid spoilers. Thanks for being the only fucking site I could talk about this game on without the threads falling apart into crying about Rex's pants or Pyra's tits.
