Just failed to make the 80k repayment. Anyone have any early game tips? Not looking to break the game unless I figure out how by myself, but some advice on avoiding early pitfalls would be nice. I made a bunch of azure necklaces but none of them sold - I'm guessing early game NPCs don't carry enough gold?
Should I start over from scratch or carry on into the second loop? It feels kinda dirty starting over with all my exp intact but maybe that's how the game was intended to be played.

JUST COMBO Learn how to set your prices more efficiently and follow market trends
Isaac Gray
Do the "cum dumpster" method that Sup Forums figured out.
Zachary Gray
Jew people out. Literally.
James Lee
Don't try to squeeze every penny you can out of someone. It's never worth it to break your sale combo. Always keep a bunch of cheap items in stock for the little girl, too.
Leo Nguyen
Haggling is bad and Tear is an idiot to suggest it.
Kevin Wood
It's absolutely possible to go through the game without restarting.
One method a lot of people recommend is to ignore the adventurer/dungeoning and just focus on buying and reselling from the guild/market.
Anyway a simple tip is to watch your store atmosphere. Leaning the store atmosphere too much in any direction limits your potential clientele, which in turn cuts down the number of customers that will show up in any given time slot.
Jackson Powell
>Just failed to make the 80k repayment. Anyone have any early game tips?
Combo combo combo. Don't break your combo. You get stacking bonuses if you get them to buy what you sell the first time, if they have to ask you to go lower with your prices, you broke the combo. Watch out for the Jew loli, WATCH OUT. Don't even risk trying for better prices with that rubbing hands.

It's a shame because I like the idea of haggling out a good price but the combo system stops that dead in its tracks. Game would be a lot funner if it was about jewing each customer of every last penny.
Nolan Nelson
Haggling does work, every time you hit that sweet spot it increases the amount of money the people have the next time they come to the shop.
Caleb Powell
B-but jewing people in a free market is actually really bad if you want long term success
Leo Martin
That's not how it works. Every customer builds exp when they purchase an item. With a combo, they get more exp than normal and with a just bonus you get a ton of exp. All haggling does is break your combo and cause you to get less exp.
Grayson Jackson
And when they level up, so does their wallet. The trick to making a lot of money is quickly leveling up your customers so they can afford the most expensive items.
Connor Gray
This. Do that.

Quick tip list:
1. Don't go full capitalist early trying to get the most out of each customer. You want combos and those are done by getting that person's "best price" which translates to just under the highest they would pay (going over means they try to haggle, doing so breaks chains which is bad). You'll need this when you start going for more profit on the later deadlines.
2. Certain customers have certain budgets. Little girls have almost no money so they won't buy expensive stuff which is why people get upset when she just tries to haggle the shit out of you for cheap things. But this is countered by selling her stuff at about 105% price which usually results in increased customer exp and bigger budget. This 105% is pretty much the overall best sell price for increasing exp and thus, budgets. Be nice to the little girl but you can fleece the uppity rich bitch for quite a bit (150%!). Her fairy is the exact opposite so just be ready to put 103% and be done with her.
3. Variety is very important too. Be ready for changes in the market with either crashes or price hikes, take advantage of these and stock when their low then reap the rewards if they go up (see tip 4). Selling only your most valuable stuff means some customers walk in without buying anything. Certain atmospheres cause some customers to appear more than others so match accordingly but this doesn't matter a lot early game when you don't have much means for customizing.
4. The real money making comes when the price for certain items go up and you can sell that shit for 220+% price, even going up to 260% depending on the customer. So a person can come in, request a list of items that are high priced and you make bank.
5. Dungeoning is a trap, don't do it too often. Maybe a few times at the start when you can guarantee that you'll make deadline but you'll find it isn't worth it and is only really meant to progress the story though you can also do this by meeting certain criteria for your shop.
Samuel Parker
>Dungeoning is a trap, don't do it too often Don't you really only "need" to do it if you want to unlock a certain character to play as/visit the shop? Otherwise you can just play Wal-mart simulator.
Speaking of, has someone ever made a 7/11 or Lawson (Japanese store) mod or something for the shop interior? I think that'd be neat.
Josiah Roberts
Embrace your inner jew.
Gavin Flores
Don't forget that if there is a price hike and someone comes in with an order that day and if you can slide one of the overpriced items in with ones that haven't been hiked up you will get to hike up the price even though some of the items for the order may not be hiked up.
Aiden Roberts
This. Also, HEARTS
There's a secret track in the game concerning the 'customer level' of the people that show up. When you get them to make a purchase enough times, a dialogue bubble with a heart inside will show up. This signifies that their allowance has just raised and will be willing to make bigger purchases moving forward. Little girl is bane of the universe early on, but if you get her to buy shit, even at a loss, she will eventually bring a bigger and bigger allowance the more times you see that heart show up next to her face, and will be a just as worthwhile as any other customer. Its been ages since played the game - have an excel sheet up and just keep track of customer percentages, raise people up 2-5% or more each time you see a heart next to their face
Rival/uppity rich bitch that starts showing up in an Amazon box in 2nd month has practically unlimited allowance, which is why 150% on anything will be considered a good purchase by her standards
Hunter Myers
If you want to play on like Survival hell mode you might want to do the dungeon since apparently some of the stuff in the end end game dungeon can be worth millions but I never got that far. If you just wanna do the debt though going to the dungeon is mostly a waste of time yeah.

Yeah I just happened to have a metal item price increase while most of my stock was swords and armor. Jumped from 60k to 180k before the boom ended.
Seems like I'm gonna need to keep a wide range of stuff on hand just to take advantage of as many item booms as possible.

Master jew here, if you follow the following tips you're bound for riches and success.
1. Make sure to always combo your sales, combos is exp, exp means better shit and a bigger store 2. Don't bother with the dungeon at all, maybe once just to get merchandise to start with that's it 3. When buying merchandise use as much money as you can, money that's not being used is profits not being earned, the more merchandise you move the more profit you gain 4. If expensive stuff is on red buy it up and sell it in the store, the guild markups pale in comparison to how much you can mark it up to your average consumer 5. If any customer picks up an item off the floor they can buy it garunteed, if they ask for an item like a hat they have a set budget, the poorer they are the cheaper you need to go
That should be all you need.
Christian Gomez
We had the numbers wrong from the start, this was our revised total at the end of the thread.

>Saw the last week's payment >Cleared everything off of my shelves >Bought everything I could >Went into dungeons everyday for free with Louie >Can't pay the fee, month is reset, but items are kept >Continue doing dungeons with Louie as soon as possible >Buy everything with any money I earn >Can't pay the payment, month is reset >Repeat another time >Now the month has been reset and I have this ten thousand pound inventory of free loot >Dump that shit onto my shelves >Sell for 105% or so so that I can jew them harder later That's what I did at least
Henry Peterson
Well guys I made it to the 80k repayment again, and I have 700k left over this time. The second time around has gone much more smoothly, although I feel like I've gotten VERY lucky with metal and weapon booms after bulk buying stuff during price decreases though. Gonna start looking into vending machines now I think. Ignoring the dungeon entirely has been a big benefit, too, although that faggot who keeps coming in asking for the slime liver and so forth is getting annoying so I'm gonna have to do some dungeoneering soon.
Oliver Richardson
>Everyone keeps talking about how the combo is the most important thing >I end up beating the game with 0 troubles because every time the guildmaster/adult man tries to buy an expensive item I go full jew
The combo is nice but it's not actually that important. Try to have some strategy.
Henry Davis

Christopher Brooks
>that first version of the game where the stats of early game and lategame enemies were swapped

That's just basic jewery ya retard, strategy is adhering to keeping the combo going and getting just pins so you gain levels faster which in turn makes the stores restock more expensive shit that you sell for even more money.
You no doubt were nowhere near the level most competent players were and you don't end up with as much jew gold.
Zachary Phillips

It's a trap. You only need to do that shit once per cycle, or however many times needed to advance the current story thread.
James Diaz
there is a bunch of dumb stuff that the game either doesnt explain properly or is flat out wrong about. Customer spending money is one of those things. You are 100% going to do better if you go for a low sale and drive up everyone's pins and therefor their spending money, so by the time you need them to be buying the big gear you can sell it for some decent coin and not chump change. If an item is up in price you can still make bank if your customers pins are high enough. Your profit margin for selling a couple mid game weapons for 200% is going to be way better then selling one late game sword for 110%. But hey if your pin is high enough sell the late game stuff for 200% and rake that shit in. And as most people will tell you comboing your sales to power level into a proper slum lord will make things a lot easier, and since you are selling in the 105-110% range already that shouldn't be a problem.
Another tip is the dungeon isnt that great for the basic story mode. If you really want to min max do it twice, one to get Louie's card and one to get Charme's card plus the free vase, and keep as many grilled lizards and water crystals you get along the way. If your really lucky you can get all the stuff for Caillou's quest in the same run though that includes giving up one of your precious lizards. Otherwise the odds of you getting decent loot from multiple runs arnt that great and a bunch of fusion items arnt even worth the sum of their parts till your hitting endless mode.
And lastly, if you lose and you loop to get a head start you are a bitch who deserves to live in the gutter. Real merchants can do it in one go.
Leo Kelly
The combo actually matters shit end game. People have this strange misconception that people will buy items for a higher price and will have a bigger budget as you level but that's not true at all.
Leveling only unlocks additional options for selling items and passive upgrades. Aside from getting a few levels so you can gain things like orders, there's no additional money to be made by leveling.
The thing that's involved with raising budgets is your relationship with the customer, which is when you see the heart that appears sometime if you sell an item for a PIN amount (Which is most likely why people confuse leveling with the higher budget) but even that is limited. In reality, raising your relationship with customers does NOTHING when they are buying items normally. The ONLY time relationship actually does anything is when someone asks for you to suggest an item. In that case the NPC has a limited budget and will refuse to buy the item you've suggested unless if their budget is higher than the price you're offering. Even in this case, it will rarely make you more money, as even the most expensive items are so expensive that NPCs will never have enough budget to buy them.
TL;DR combos are actually shit and overrated
Parker Harris
How to make money then?
Isaac Cox
What this guy said. Dungeons make you lose money.
Gabriel Martin
This. People who seriously recommend to skip game contents just to cheese the game are fucking embarrassing.

>OP Alternatively THIS loli is my favourite customer, with her poor grasp of the value of money. You can mark items waaayyy the fuck up. And if it's a red item? Oh BABY! You're looking at a 200% mark up minimum while you're selling 150% to everyone else
I should actually be on some kind of watchlist with how much I joy I get for abusing her (wallet)
Andrew Nguyen
Right when you start the game it's worth doing combos to try and quickly level. At most you only need level 12 though. After that, if you want to beat the game as fast as possible, go full jew with items bought from the guild, if you sell a single expensive item at max price to the guild master you can easily make the entirety of your debt in a single purchase. If you want the most time-efficient method, then you want to clear dungeons entirely and farm them on each floor. Although monster materials don't sell easily, some things you can find can sell for ridiculous amounts. (For example, you can find bees extremely early on which drop honey worth 2000, which can single handedly clear your debt week 1). In this case you want to stick around on each floor for as long as possible and farm until you get the valuable item you want.
Kevin Smith
>you want to stick around on each floor for as long as possible I don't remember monsters respawning though
Thomas Garcia
Just watch a speed run of the game to get a general idea how to play. I think WR is like 40min, the best time I got was 53min. The important thing to remember is you need to level up your customers or else you will be selling things that they can not afford. So ignore people telling you to just ignore the little girl.
Eli Ross
They definitely do, at least when I played. The respawn rate was slow but it was there. You just have to wander around for a bit.
David Ross
Dungeons is honestly really basic and boring to do. This game is a pure merchant simulator and nothing more.
Kayden Stewart
Was there a timer to how much you could stay on a dungeon then? I don't remember, it has been so long since I played.
David Morgan
If you stay too long on one floor a bunch of red cloud enemies start spawning that harass you and are worth nothing. You're not forced to leave but they're really annoying. In the JP version they were bugged and could only do 1 damage, I don't know about the steam version though but it's implied they're supposed to be very dangerous.
Parker Richardson
>calling someone else a low level jew >doesn't even want the most amount of money check yourself over before you post, kiddo.

This entire thread just seems to be a misunderstanding between autistic individuals who don't understand that they're arguing the same thing
>combos don't mean anything, they're shit! >proceeds to tell people to continue to do combos unless a chance at some big gains comes along
Arguing the same fucking thing, what the hell is with this board.
Jaxon Sanders
1. There's no argument going on. Just different people stating different opinions. 2. Just because someone is saying it's overrated doesn't mean "Never do it". 3. TL;DR's are supposed to be overly simplified and exaggerated
It sounds like you're projecting your autism onto other people. You should talk to people more often.
