Would Witcher 3 be better without Ciri?

Would Witcher 3 be better without Ciri?

yes

Ciri was alright, it's just how big they made everything in the end that cheapened it. White Frost came and went like nothing.

yea, geralt need to slap some senses into daddy's girl

I actually don't mind characters like Ciri when they're not the main character.

Yes.

Ciri in W3 is totally a Mary Sue.
In books, not so much. They should have made her more that way.
>has daddy issues
>murders people for petty shit
>gets horny from horses
>she let a guy who wanted to murder her rape her because she was in heat
In games she is literally perfect and anyone who disagrees is 100% evil.
Look at the villains:
>Whoreson Junior
His first introductions is "LOOK HE MURDERS WOMEN FOR FUN LOOK HOW EVIL HE IS"
>Radovid
Le Mad King who murders witches and non-humans, literally Hitler
>Eredin
no comment
She just can't be in the wrong.
And the right way to play things is to let her behave however she wants, that is trash the Avallach's lab etc. instead of trying to make her more rational and responsible.

Fun fact, The Witcher 1 (the bloody first game) actually made PRECISELY this joke already. The joke that Ciri is a massive mary sue actually runs down long before the games were even made, all the way back to the source material. It's one of the most frequent and long-standing criticism toward the Witcher pentalogy (well, technically speaking septalogy, but who gives a fuck about Season of Storms).

I think they did do a decent job with her in TW3, frankly. She is going to be a troublesome character from the start, but the games did their best to give her at least some human qualities. It's a bit of a shame that she is so god-damn integral to Geralt's story that she can't really be avoided if the story wants to conclude his own character, but they did manage it... decently enough.

That said, the famous "leaked" (fake) story that used to circle around the internet before TW3 was released gave her in particular a better story. I was actually sad to learn it's a fake.

>In books, not so much. They should have made her more that way.
Actually, she is WAY more Mary Sue in the books than she is in the games. And half of what you are describing is factually wrong.

probably

i found the stuff that was only about ciri to be of lesser quality than the stuff that didnt (crones, barron, etc)

with that said i still am in love with the game

>In books, not so much.
How fucking wrong you are
Not only that but Ciri is an insufferable edgelord in the books

Witcher 3 - i doubt.
Witcher books yes, so much yes. I just could not read past 4th book because of how shit they turned to be with this ciri stuff.

I kinda liked the jokes and references in the last book, even if the actual story went to absolute shit.

absolutely

Mary sue > stupid whore

>the famous "leaked" (fake) story that used to circle around the internet before TW3 was released gave her in particular a better story.
Could You, please, post a link?

>Not only that but Ciri is an insufferable edgelord in the books

That's a good thing, it's what made her interesting. Everything is fighting for and looking as a retarded edgelord immature teenager, which creates interesting conflicts. "Everyone has to be likeable" is a meme for children.

I don't have any link, I always saw it posted around directly. The gist of it however, was that Ciri was coming back to Geralt's world because her son (that she was supposed to have with Lancelot) was taken from her, and she suspected that he ended up back in Geralt's world. The main story was supposed to be about Geralt trying to help her find the child, only to ultimately learn that he knew the little bastard all along: his name was Alvin.
Seemed like a WAY cooler premise than what we ultimately got. It was posted around here and other places as a "verified" leak around 2012 or so but as far as I know, it was never reprinted by any media, just word of mouth.

Seriously, how fucking old are you?

Had to remind myself of the story of W1, weird that it's only speculation that Alvin and the grand master were the same person, I could swear I remembered it being a whole plot twist in W1
Haven't played it like 5 or 6 years

This game is shit to be quite honest, basically the game of thrones of vidya.
>novel
>uses sex to bait normalfaggots
>nothing of value

I don't think it's speculation, though. Wasn't it also confirmed in TW3 with a note from the grandmaster personally addressed to you?

>>gets horny from horses
>>she let a guy who wanted to murder her rape her because she was in heat
what the fuck

I was just going by how the wiki classified it, seems like it wasn't really confirmed at any point straight out in W1 at least, which is contrary to my memory of it anyway

Never played Witcher but I HAVE played MGQ.
Is Ciri basically Alipheese Fateburn XVI for slavs?

Yes. There's a reason why the first two books are considred the best, and that's because ciri is not in them.

It's not a speculation, it was an obvious implication of the game. The fucking necklace dude, the fucking necklace. While the game does not spell it out for you, it is the fucking point of the game.
The whole story is quite literally "This is what you get if you forget your place in the world and try to act like a normal guy, Geralt!"

Neither of those are true, the guy is just making shit up.

There is a scene in the books in which Ciri seriously considers letting a guy fuck her and take her virginity because he promises to give her his (rather beautiful) horse in return. Ciri likes the horse, and also feels kinda sorry of the owner, since he is dying, eventually deciding to let herself be fucked.
The guy dies just as he is about to do so.

I don't even know what the other thing is supposed to allude to. One way or another, Ciri actually never has sex with a guy through out the entirety of the books. Lots of lesbian sex though. She is no stranger to that.

Lol no, but the mages dindunuffin shit in Witcher 3 should be fucking removed.
Also fuck CDPR for making a Temerian patriot like Roche a Nilfgaardian sell out.

Not sure what "two books" you are alluding to. Ciri already appears in the second book of short stories, actually, and is present in every single book after that. The only book she makes no appearance at all is The Last Wish.

And people generally value the short story books higher not because they don't feature Ciri - they value them more because they are short stories, and Sapokwski can't build a proper long story-arch for SHIT, with Ciri or without her.

THIS. What Radovid did missed the point entirely, but it's not like the witches are without blame after loc muinne. Fuck them. And why would Roche accept Nilfgaardian overlordship? Makes no fucking sense.
>all choices are bad, geralt!

It wasn't directly confirmed in the games but it was really heavily implied.

Bully the nilfgaardian noble's daughter!

Fucking this.
Radovid did fucking nothing wrong. Writers streamlined him to be literally Hitler.
Sorceressed deserved to be hunted for the shit that Lodge pulled off.
Not to mention in W2 he was fine with mages as advisors and never hunted non-humans. He never bothered with Scoia'Tael and any of that shit.

>Radovid did fucking nothing wrong. Writers streamlined him to be literally Hitler.
Eh, he did do a lot of wrong, and it was pretty damn obvious that he is going to turn out to be a mad bastard. Pretty much since the first game, actually.

But, they did write him poorly. Good idea, back execution.

I just don't like how CDPR made Radovid a one sided evil guy who hates everything, though his hatred towards the mages is justified.
Too bad the game tried its hardest to make the player sympathize with the mages, fucking disgusting.

And Radovid kept his cool when a fucking Dragon rampaging in Loc Muine while in W3 he dies like a crybaby.
W3 is good game but a lot of characters from the previous games got shat on.

>tfw no lesbian sex in the game
One job.

>no option to convince Dickstra to get Temeria under like in the Nilfgaardian ending
REEEEEEEEEE

Because nu-CDPR is full of feminists and would turn Lodge into good guys if they could.
