Do gaming ads count?
Of course they do.

I miss old video game magazines that I lost.
Is that Adam Warren's artstyle?
...
Fuck Adam Warren! His art was the only reason I would buy PSM, but the guy was a colossal douchebag. Even before the internet took a turn for the worst, he openly criticized other DeviantArtists and wanted an astronomical amount of money for commissions.
>this was considered ripped in the 90s
It wasn't.
You'll never see art like this on any websites today and alEdge/Game Informer won't do it because "We are prograssive and mature", fuck i miss old magazines.
Video games started out as a boys club, now that it's mainstream you can't get away with it otherwise people shit a brick.
Goddamn, I loved PSM. The cover with Raziel by Joe Mad was my favorite.
could've been a cool thread sharing cool magazine covers and all that, but now the threads gonna be overrun with 'le omg they wouldn't get away with this these days!!! DAE hate SJWs and WOMEN?????!!!?' case in point:

>Wipeout 3
>Are you ready?
Fuck yeah, baby!
Champs was an amazing game. I wish they would bring games like this back.
ye I really want them on psn but never ever sadly
...
Fish Lips.
Psycho parents never gave me internet access as a kid, so my nintendo power and T&T subscriptions were sacred
I still think I have these, I can't believe they convinced me to buy these as a kid because of sexy anime girls. Didn't even know what anime was.
They're messy shit compared to the Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance games
*poorly drawn americanime
>the characters thus far...
You're the first person to bring it up and they would valid points. Sjws are cancer. You belong on neogaf if you disagree.
It’s amazing. Literally every single one of these images so far has something that would be called offendive today.
Champions was better than Dark Alliance though, because of the replay value. DA was finish the story and that was it, Champions had random stat weapon drops and the online community, especially Return to Arms.
They were all amazing games though.
I really like both. Together with Gauntlet motherfucking Legends.
Some of the best couch co-op games, ever.
He was a main character after all.
Which was better: Official Playstation Magazine or PSM?
Underground was the best either way.
>male power fantasy vs male sexual fantasy
rocco looks weird
Well shit, that's news to me. Charming.
...
I vastly prefer the hand crafted levels and the more distinct classes in Dark Alliance to anything randomly generated. To me Champions duology feels sloppy and unpolished because of that, especially Return to Arms with its weird side quests
...
Gauntlet Dark Legacy on PS2, couch cooping for weeks on that shit, I loved it.
>Random 3d models at the bottom of page
Slapping random 3D shit all over everything was a fun fad in gaming history
Got tons
...
...
It probably is actually Adam Warren. He definitely did work for PSM.
...
...
Cant remember if this was a PSM cover or not.
cuck
we had psm in italy as well
the editorial staff was completely nuts, they even came up with a weird dumb language only them and the readers could kinda understand
For anyone that wants to shuffle through a ton of old magazines..
I remember when Game Informer was good and fun to read. I haven’t read one in years.
PSM always reminds me of better times. I had every issue from the first one with FFVII on the cover, until it got shitty in the PS3 era.
Pic unrelated.
A Classic.
>until it got shitty in the PS3 era
How so?
EA being EA.
The more things change.
I just remember it being less fun to read. For some reason the part that sticks out in my mind was a multiple page feature on the third def jam game. It felt like the soul of the magazine was gone. That time between the SNES and the PS2 was a magical time to be a kid.
...
Good old day when games were focused being games and not cinematic memes. I wish the new god of war stayed true it game play formula or played like buffy for xbox or Indiana Jones in the emperor tomb.
He got fired for those reviews, shame.
>It's irredeemable crap
> 5/10
You're not wrong, after PS2 magazines were pretty shit. Might have been the fact the internet took over big time by then.
...
Why don't gaming news and coverage use sexy anime grills to promote their stuff today?
100 actually
/r/ing the Command and Conquer "previous high scores" ad
Super Play was amazing. It was one of the first western magazines to nurture the emerging anime scene as well as highlighting jrpgs which were slowly becoming more popular. Gread read. Also based Wil Overton.
There was once a time when Vidya journalists had integrity.
writing like this it was bound to happen sooner or later, and looking at gaming journalism these days probably makes him glad to be out
>write uninformative "comedy" reviews that aren't funny
>get fired for being incompetent
Not very surprising.
Still The Best 1995
10 years passed.
People don't appreciate the fine arts anymore.
Actually had a letter of mine printed in Mean Machines magazine, who wants to touch me?
>gay ad
>french
Makes sense.
I remember those fuckers
>we are 100% independent, unlike any official magazines!
>3 years later they're running the official PS2 magazine
Also there was massive drama when they switched name from PSM to PSMania and someone else continued publishing PSM in their stead.
For the Franco fags Joystick really was neat back in the days.
OFP, Morrowind, Ghost Recon. Jedi Knight II, IL2 ect... Early 2k years were hundred percent comfy.
:)
...
Man, this game it still so fucking addictive.
Had a three day lan last weekend with three friends and we only played this game and Trine.
It's only smellz dude..
they didn't see the part where games get points for satisfying 'progressive' values yet
>73%
Well, that explains the majority of scores on metacritic.
Anyone got poster page for In Cold Blood which parodies Amnesty International? I remember it reframing the main character's imprisonment for being a spy as an appeal for action over Volgia holding an innocent foreign national unlawfully.
it's a fucking shitty DLC for the sims, how else are you supposed to fill an article on that? it was shit, plain and simple
I hope the backlash at EA over this game sparks Disney to take some action over EA. I fucking hate the fact that EA owns the SW franchise, they should have left it with Lucas Arts and then developers can have their fair share like back in the day.
Unrelated, but how good is Battlefront 2's base content? I am aware that it isn't enough.
>holding the past up to today's standards
Recipe for instant failure and regret.
Or maybe don’t be such a sensitive faggot
Write a quick blurb about it, alike so
>fanboys only
>if this is the kind of think you like, then you'll like this
2 modes are decent, and the flying parts are goat. But then, DICE didn't develop the flying aspects. Otherwise the game is ass. Story is 4 hours long and you ditch the dark side after 2 missions to become Leia's personal body guard, lightsaber combat is a fucking joke, AI ground team mates will run away from battle, ground campaigns that put you into a vehicle features auto-piloting, and the very base design of progression is ENTIRELY based on loot boxes (not kidding). Getting everything without paying for it will take over 4,000 hours of dedicated play.
Like a well-toned ass it looks damned fine, but that doesn't stop it from taking a massive dump all over you at any given opportunity.
first one that I bought
omg nazi
you would rather say misogynist if you knew what's written on there
it were different times
It was a cool thread until you showed up tbqh senpai.
