a lot of the last bosses in FFVIII are optional, you just lose the opportunity to use select abilities versus the final boss

lion heart > renzokuken > omnislash

I hoped they would include it as a raid in FFXIV, with all bosses in-tact and the only way to get to the final boss is to beat all of them. You would be able to defeat them in any order you please and of course, you would get different loot from any boss you defeat.

Replaying FF8 in english just reminded me how fucked up every english FF localization is. Why do murricans always have to change dialouge and even context sometimes. Why does europe basicly just use the 1:1 jap script but not the US.
Even today in XIV and XV it's still shit. No wonder so many people dislike the characters in VIII, the translation is total shit

Personally I think that's either the Void, or Memoria. Though Memoria is more for the unique look, the Void actually is more mechanically and narratively interesting AND houses both Omega and Shinryu

The only reason I reset after using phoenix pinion is I didn't see phoenix in the GF menu

So I assumed you "don't get him" like the other GFs, and phoenix pinion is just a super phoenix down on all members that you use if 2 other members are down and you need to get them back up ASAP
