Don't tell me you had to use this guy.
Did you?

Of course fucking not, I used Uncle Amiibo.

There's exploration and there's trying to find an eyeglass screw in a sandbox.

I didn't use him but I used Talkatoo

only talkatoo a handful of times

incidentally they were moons where cappy remarks "wow good job" when you find them

I did for that fucking taxi in Bonneton.

this

I only used Talktoo for the Talktoo glitch in New Donk City for the 100 rope jumps moon

A lot actually

To get 500? Of course not. Using him kind of regularly now that I only have 3-5 moons left per zone though.

Fucking this.

After I went through the entire map I used Talkatoo, and if that didn't work out I used Toad. Mainly because of

No I need to save my coins for dat skeleton outfit.

>I got an X mark on my map
>Go there
>Nothing
JUST

and the sphynx in fossil falls

I never realized that you had to look at the flying sphinx/taxi/whatever using the binoculars.
I was going nuts and eventually used the hint toad and he laid an x right on the binoculars. Then I captured it and looked at the sphinx and finally got my moon.

W H A T ?

do tell

this familia, when talkatoo's hints weren't enough

I used him to find one in Wooded Kingdom called "Tucked away in the tunnel" or something like that.

In general I didn't even use Talkatoo until I got to about 860. Some of the last few are diabolical, like the hidden room in the Pyramid, the hidden room in the Quicksand, the coin plant, the railing in Bowser's Kingdom...

I got the jumprope before that glitch was revealed but the last moon I can't get is the Volleyball one. I can't do it even in Cappy mode, my highest score is like 80.

>like the hidden room in the Pyramid

I can't believe how long it took me to realize that one considering how much I messed with the moving pillars in the section before Knucklotec's room

It's a matter of throwing Cappy in the right direction. Apparently, my aim/reaction time are ace, because I knocked that sucker out on the second try after quickly realizing that Mario running wasn't fast enough to hit them all after a certain point.

This. At some point, the exploration isn't clever, just tedious.

And this isn't like the contact lens in the desert in Earthbound where you ask the player to explore once, no, SMO basically asks you to explore multiple times, especially considering the postgame.

Nintendo really didn't think some things about SMO through.
And bugger all if we'll get to let them know in a goddamn CLUB NINTENDO SURVEY.

I was a fucking idiot about so many moons but I actually got that secret pyramid room on my first playthrough. I guess it just seemed like something nsmb/3d world would have done so I checked

I mean, that's potentially a crushing death with 0 reward. Like the sandholes, you don't know, those could kill you. Or finding the Deep Woods.

That shit is unreasonable on their part - don't put secrets in scenarios that could mean death.

>Or finding the Deep Woods.
If you check the map on the brochure it actually shows you that it's not a normal bottomless pit. And it speaks of the area under the stage.

I wish Toadette was in the game too, burping and braping to help you.

was this by far the worst hint art? I had to actually look up where this shit was

The KEEP one is worse. But they're both awful.

>mfw finding out where Very Nice Shot with the Chain Chomp was

Yes. There's a moon in toastarena in the sinking sand that I would have never noticed.

Keep is ingenious. The koopa one isn't too bad either. You have to be a severe brainlet to not understand it.
>Go to the koopa, now walk north until you reach two ferns, there is your moon

I kept thinking I passed it. The point is the dark side art was way fucking easier than both of those for some reason.

She is in the game dummy

That is what is great about the KEEP one though. It's the type of clue that leaves you thinking
>Fuck, I should have figured that out on my own.

This destroyed me.

>mfw I can't get this to work
>mfw it's probably still easier than doing it legit

I mean it's pretty straightforward IMO.
Walk exactly north until you hit those bushes. It is rather far away, but there's only one group of shrubs north of him.
KEEP can go fuck itself, though

Why exactly was it so many of you had trouble with the KEEP one? Only one stage has textual markings anywhere, and it's right there at the beginning. Took me a minute to solve and locate, not counting load times.
