Conventionally more attractive? No. More distinct and more personality? Absolutely. Aloy never seemed like a design that was just "not pretty" for the hell of it, her features feel deliberate and I think she looks really cool. Only complaint is that she isn't just a little more muscular, particularly in the arms, which aren't scrawny but don't really complement her face too well as they are.

The DOA girls tend to look pretty generic in the face aside from a few, and a slight hairstyle or hair-color change throws them off. Japanese games have plenty of good designs, ones you could recognize by the silhouette or the hair or even an accessory alone (see Touhou), but DoA's are pretty damn unremarkable.
