I hear this game is hard. I've not played a JRPG that isn't Final Fantasy in about 10 years and I'm craving a new JRPG, this has been sitting in my steam library for 3 years. Am I highly likely to get fucked to a point where I can't continue or would a pleb be able to get to the end?
Failing that, are there any other modern JRPGS on PC (that aren't Neptunia-tier weebshit) that are worth grabbing?
Generally, you are never fucked so bad you can't continue in the PC version. The only things that can make this game hard are being under or over leveled.
Most things can be overcome by changing formations, changing tactics, or moving people in and out of units.
In terms of story stuff that is considered hard, there is one mandatory fight halfway through the game that most find difficult if you aren't prepared. Even if you aren't, dumb luck can sometimes get you through it.
It's possibly my favourite RPG squeenix has released since the PS2 era.

Any particular recommendations? Xenoblade Chronicles looks a good a shout.
That's good news. The thing I'm most intimidated by is losing 30 hours of progress because everything going on under the hood has fucked me over in some way. Would you say steamcommunity.com/app/23310/discussions/0/882959527677194857/ is worth paying attention to?

>played for 100 hours >still in CD1 You are going to waste lots of time in exploration and side-quest.

Xenoblade Chronicles with HD patch is amazing on PC. Absolutely.
It's the simplest way, yes. It also depends on how much side content you want to do.
You are going to gain BR doing anything remotely combat oriented. Even if you pull large groups instead of down groups one at a time will still raise your BR. Really, though, all BR does is scale boss HP and sometimes give them a new ability or two. In most cases, there is a cap to how far they will scale. However, there is a soft cap for BR at various stages in the game.
Honestly, don't worry about it too much. Do make a save before going in to the aqueducts, though. There is a string of fights, one of which is the hardest story one (save for unlocking final boss forms) so if you find you can't beat it, just go out and try to get more abilities for your characters. You will game over a lot, which is why the game autosaves after every fight. Really, just play to enjoy it.

You heard wrong. It's not hard, it's just shit.

>You heard wrong. It's not hard, it's just shit t.littlefag on the steam forum that complained the game was too hard and it's shit

someone post the image, you know which one I'm talking about

You literally have to be braindead to find this game difficult. The fact that you try to project how other people must've found it hard like you to make yourself feel better is fucking embarrassing.
Ryan Powell
You ah, you might want to just move along mate. The Last Remnant is not for the faint of heart.
James Smith
>braindead
More like unwilling to lose.

>You literally have to be braindead to find this game difficul If that was true then 80% of people who played this wouldn't have been bitching on the steam forums, post your completion if you really about it

PC version isn't that bad. Also, you are going to lose a lot. If you have problems with that, then yes, it's not for you.

Yeah, surely I kept my savegame just for you and I'll redownload the game, reinstall it to screencap it for you, my little flower petal. Fucking ridiculous. And I didn't beat this game, it's boring shit with a protagonist more annoying than Tidus. But I remember he is literally a remnant and some major plot points, and fighting most villain characters and unlocking areas all over the map with some of the older areas getting expanded so I must've made it 60-75% through. There was fuckall hard about it.

I kind of love and hate the battle system all at once. Like, you can't tell your party members what to do, you can only arrange their formation and give them vague suggestions on what to do.
Bentley Brown
Personally I fought everything I came across and still never had any issue. I did spend an awful amount of time mucking about with my formations and tactics though. Also I played on the PC version which I've heard fucks you over way less for grinding super hard. But heavy emphasis on the word "grind" there because I never ran into any issue.

OP here. Thius thread has helped me establish that the game is shit, great, piss easy and rock hard.
I'm just going to jump in and see how I do. has kind of made me want to play it more than I did.
Mason Gonzalez
>piss easy and rock hard That's a damn apt description
